  3. nihangs in the past often did have multiple wives...by the way.
  4. khalsa rehat, originial form of khalsa rehat is far more open minded to such small minor details which the "sgpc" is discussing. Why should sikhs obey what these corrupt SGPC 'leaders' are proposing anyway. SGPC and DGPC are all simply wealthy and extremely corrupt. SGPC clearly is a British made angrez organization that is polluting the panth. -Who gives them teh right to "ban" someone from the panth? -SGPC is clearly an angrez and modern group by the last word in their name=committee. Where in punjabi did COMMITTEE COME FROM?!?! -Who are they to judge what is to be considered bani or not? -Who are they to shorten down a particular bani? -Who are they to take away century old traditions such ( just to name a few-shastar in front of AGGS, Raag Vidiya traditions which have completley been depleted in darbar sahib other than Balbir Singh, Baldeep Singh, Avtar Singh Gurcharan Singh, Dr. Gurnam Singh etc...etc.. The ancient naquishi paintings which have been painted over in darbar sahib. Traditions are being forgotten, and modernism, and western ideals are being brought into the panth. How can we reject traditions which have clearly been present for centuries, and definitley pre-british raj. Takht Hazur Sahib, thanks to the Budha Dal remains to keep the traditions of the past. Maybe, just maybe thats why Budha Dal is the original care taker of Harimandir Sahib.
  5. what port do i put? on cute ftp so far its not working for me. i had it on 21
  6. We will also soon try to increase the Gurmat Sangeet collection on the website because we now have incresed our database of keertan. Look out
  7. the first picture displayed with teh blue backround i believe can be a very usefull weapon. It is kept in the kamarkasa and is able to when held in palm of the hand with the thumb and point finger directing the blade remove nerve endings, marams, and in the past, often times you would find that small type of shastar on women.
  8. i dont currently have time for a response. But in dasam bani- Akali Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj says... my name is gobind singh, and I am a kelari of shastar. Shastran da pulari ha. Mera Vaheguru Shastar hai. Shastar to bina, mera hor koy asra nei hai. 'Aj tuhee jagbeer tuhee nishani jeet ki' Jera vee shastaran da kelari hai, shastaran da pulari hai, Jera shastar dee pooja karda (does pooja of shastars), Jineh nu shastar chalana anda hai, ustee jang vich bhar nei hosakhdee. sadahee akaal purakh dee kirpa duara, ustee har maidan fateh hovaigee. Guru Gobind singh along with rehat gave Panj Shastar. "Panj Shastar Parvan" The mukvat of what is rehat and what is shastar is in teh dasam bani. Guru gobind singh says..."nishaneh sikh kee panj harp tap" The way to make nishani of my son (guru gobind singhs son) is panj kakeh, panj shastar. You can listen to the shabad along with full viakhya by Bhai Balbir Singh Jee in Dasam Bani

  10. The Singhs of UK have made a website which has been presented with utmost sophistication and intellect. Any scholar in the world, American, British, Indian, whomever, when they see those websites, they ackowledge the sophistication with which the info is presented and each point is clearly cited with historical background. To my knowledge though, the reason the site has not been updated is because Bhai Sahib Jee is busy writing and finishing his books. Which has higher priority than the website. *Just a side note: The Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa Panth is not, and will never be involved with the SGPC. The reason simply is that, The panth does not even acknowledge their existence. How can the SGPC be a "traditional" group following puratan marayada when they simply came into existence post British Rule. It can be very simply proven to someone that the SGPC is a modern group which is now present because of the British Raj. The SGPC's name in itself has a 'angrez' word in it: shromani gurudwara parbhandak COMMITEE. The Impostors took control in 1922. As time progressed, the extreme Tat Khalsa Singh Sabhias, founded by one 'Babu' Teja Singh of Bhasaur village, Ludhiana District, Punjab, even began to dress up as an Akali Nihang. These individuals initiated new Khalsa in their own self-concocted and delusioned manner. Teja Singh 'Bhasauria', eventually became labeled as an 'apostate' by the mainstream Sikh faith for a variety of actions he later carried out. By 1925, the prominent, and the present mainstream Sikh religious-come-political institution, the Shromani Gurudwara Parbandak Committee (S.G.P.C.) was brought into being by the passing of an Act by the British Raj. The S.G.P.C. adopted the Budha Dal titles ‘Shromani’ (meaning ‘highest authority in Sikhism’) and designation of the term ‘Akali’ for themselves. The S.G.P.C., then taking control of the traditional religious high office of Budha Dal Jathedar, the Akal Takht, drove the Akali Nihangs of Budha Dal out of Akal Takht with the aid of the British Raj. At present, S.G.P.C. Sikhism is promoting itself to the position of mainstream Sikhism by stealing from Akali Nihangs its past name, prestige, glories etc. They have attempted to rewrite the Akali Nihangs out of Khalsa history, and at best have reduced the Budha Dal Akali Nihangs to a mere footnote in Khalsa history. However, the undisputed fact remains that original Khalsa was ALL Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa (for a full account, please see ‘Pracheen Panth Prakash’ written by Shaheed Rattan Singh Bhangu). Even Giani Kirpal Singh, the S.G.P.C.-elected 'Jathedar' of Akal Takht in the 1980’s, and himself a reputed historian, fully acknowledged the past traditional authority of the Budha Dal and its Jathedar in context of Sikh shrines. In a book published after his death in 1993, Giani Kirpal Singh conceded: ‘At the Akal Takht, Takht Sahib Siri Kesgarh Sahib, and Takht Dam Dama Sahib, the priests dressed in the Nihang manner. From this it is known that it was the Budha Dal Jathedar that used to control the organization of the Takhts. This was because it was Budha Dal, which looked after all the religious, and traditions of historical Gurdwaras in the Punjab. Initiating, Khalsa and preaching Dharma it did also.’ (‘Siri Akal Takht Sahib Ateh Jathedar Sahiban’, Giani Kirpal Singh (1999), Pa. 57) Akali Nihangs only recognize the ancient pre-British Raj Khalsa traditions of ‘Dal Panth’ (meaning, ‘way of the army’ or ‘nation that is the army’). Dal Panth refers to the Akali Nihang Dals and Sach Khand Hazoor Sahib, Nanded, Maharashtra. Akali Nihangs DO NOT recognizeANY Khalsa institution which was established by or during British Raj or afterwards What these Tat Khalsa Singh Sabhia-nurtured institutions such as the S.G.P.C. etc. do not appreciate is that history refers to events that have occurred in the past, be they good, bad, or unacceptable. History is not what one wanted, or wished to have happened. Thus, the Tat Khalsa Singh Sabhias, and the S.G.P.C. after them, by forsaking the truth have re-written, and re-orientated Sikh history to suit their perception of Sikhism itself. This process is still continuing to this very day within Sikhism as shown in the example of Vedanti and 'Gurblias Patshahi Shemi'. Why does SGPC have the power to shorten Guru Gobind Singh Sahib's Bani such as Chopai Sahib? Why do they have the power to remove LIVING HISTORY from Darbar Sahib. Puratan Paintings on the walls destroyed, History destroyed/"modified"/changed? Who are they to refute Guru Sahib himself! Who are they to take away Guru Ke Shastar from infront of the Adi Guru Darbar. That is ancient tradition. One really big problem which I have is this: Why is Gurbani NOT read/sang IN RAAG form. The PROPER raag in which Guru Sahiban wrote it. If it says Raag Sri Raag. That doesnt mean sing it with some bollywood tune.... Gurmat Sangeet Originated to be preformed in Darbar Sahib, and now look at where it is. Every morning on Zee Tv, go look at what kind of Raagis are there, and what knowledge they have about sangeet. They know NOTHING. Only people such as these singhs from UK and singhs like Bhai Baldeep Singh Jee from Delhi (www.bhaibaldeepsingh.com) are attempting to do something to stop the distortion of history. (this response was simply made to the remarks made about Nihang Singh Khalsa's and then got a little extended and rooted to many other inter-related subjects) 'This institution [the S.G.P.C.] is not accepted by all Sikhs, be it elected by votes, or be it established by force, or be it established in law so as now it is forced upon us. The Shromani Panth Budha Dal is defending itself. It keeps it’s distinctive traditions. These false institutions [s.G.P.C.] will one day vanish. They [the Nihangs] will guard the true traditions of Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Gobind Singh. The true traditions will be re-established again. These peoples [s.G.P.C.] Panth will die out.’ (Nihang Baba Udey Singh, transcript of interview, 1st March 2001)
  11. Guru Nanak Sahib wore a Seely Topi Always. NOT until Post-British Raj did people begin to depict Baba Nanak with a 'keski' or 'dastaar'. The daastar became an udasi tradition post Akali Guru Hargobind when he introduced not one but domall. aka. Domalla. Changing history is no good. www.sarbloh.info knows.
  12. WHY CANT WE DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE SGPC fu*!ing up our history our heritage. trying to make everything modern! BANNING SHASTAR TO BE PUT IN FRONT OF AGGS in darbar sahib! painting ancient walls white...ruining the akal takht. what are they SMOKING! THE SGPC IS A BUNCH OF MODERNIZED BRITISH INFLUENCED (THE FACT THAT IN THEIR NAME IS A ENGLISH WORD COMITEE SAYS ENOUGH) RICH CORRUPTED PEOPLE, THAT ARE SIMPLY MAKING KALYUG WORST THAN ALREADY IS.
  13. just to go back to that UFC thing for a sec. I believe that some UFC competetors have approached the Akhaaras in U.K to learn new strategies in accordance with the several rules.
  14. baldeep singh has dedicated his life to gurmat sangeet and its preservation. You are stealing from him if you put his albums on the internet. Famous Rap artists are already rich, Baldeep Singh Jee can not continue to teach and preserve and spread gian if he is not earnign at profit. Rast Bast and Chara are to be taken care of as they are in an akhaara for their gurdev. The rabab cd has 2 cds and an extensive booklet jori cd has one cd and a booklet
  15. Thus far, seven different forms of the rabab are present. 2 are played with a bow 5- a plectrum (jeel) made of coconut shell is used to pluck the gut strings. Bowed Versions: Kamaicha- only middle and higher octaves are played. 2 octave ranged instrument. That is becuase the chakki (sound box) is totally round withought a waist and doesn not allow an individual tangent with the bow on the strings except on the main string (baaj di taar) teh ghori (bridge) of teh kamaicha is flat at the top similar to teh dhrupadi rabab. Saranda- has a beutiful waist and a curved top ghori alloing all the main strings (three in the smaller saranda and 4 in the bigger designed by guru amar das) to be played individually Plucked Versions: Dhrupadi rabab has two varients. first version is baout 3.5 length second is 4.2 feet in in length. Guru Gobins singhs rabab on display at gurudwara Mandi Himachel Pradesh India is the largest dhrupadi rabab having 15 sympathetic strings. rabbana - played by the kinnar community in himachal pradesh Folk rabab-used in afghanistan kashmir and other tribal areas. Dotara- 2 adn 4 stringed versions found in india Rabab also called dhrupadi rabab adn many times the rudra biin. Dhrupadi raba was used from punjab to bengal for different styles of kirtan in diff. languages and religous traditions. jori and pakhawak assisted the rabab for dhrupad in the courts, gurbani for the sikhs and vaishnava for the temples. 18th century- the advent of khayal singing which required bowed instruments like the sarangi to keep pace with the rapid tana-work of khayal , the raba and biin became solo instruments. a large deal of innovations were then made to make them diverse and versatile resulting in the inventons of new instruments such as the sarod, sitar, surbahar, sursingaar and others. rabab has gut of silk strinks. ___ look up somjit dasgupta or mohan shyam sharma. rababi and pakhawaji oh and pandit shiv kumar sharma plays the santoor. he doesnt teach dilruba...

  20. some shastar im pretty sure some are from hazoor sahib
  21. some more pics to add to the collection. but how do you just add the picture inside ure post withough having it as an attachment?? o and, with that picture of the nihang singh where you said "NOTE the Small Kirpan and Gatra", When thinking about the kirpans that many sikhs where today such as those by damdami taksal, that are not ancient nor many times are even functioning kirpans. The kirpans that the majority of the sikhs today think are kirpans not only dont function the majority of the time but they dotn know how to use them. Those kirpans date back to that era of the missle but they were dumalley deh shastar not the main kirpan and shastar. The real shastar kirpans were like shamsheers, tegas, and katees, and kattars. not these dumalley deh shastar. Thats what i think, im not too sure about the origin of these kirpans that most sikhs use today like the ddt's "taksali" kirpan. let me know if soemone knows more about this.
  22. "it doesn't really clarify the matther though... it just says the renovation was not carried out as per "sikh maryada". what does that mean?" Basically, a general very very general summary and only a portion of the story of Baba Santa Singh Jee being "kicked out" of the "panth" was that right after the attack on the Akal Takht Sahib, the budha dal baba santa singh jee was the only one with proper accurate drawings and blueprints of the Akal takht sahib in order for it to be rebuilt properly as done before during the guru's time. The indian government offered to pay for the reconstruction of the Akal takht and the Budha Dal agreed adn built it properly and beutifully. The DDT and AKJ refused to allow the indian govt. to pay to rebuild teh akal takht and after full reconstruction they completly blew up the building in order for it to be built AGAIN with other funds.
