  1. Sat Sri Akal: Some raagis embody the ideals of Sikhism...some are the anti-thesis of Sikh behavior. Take for example one Sikh Raagi (name not mentioned) who owns a liquor store!!!
  2. Sat Sri Akal: No and No. Why? Rakhi or Raksha Bandhan is basically a woman saying "Oh strong brother, protect me for I am a weak woman unable to defend myself" Kinda sexist no?
  3. Sat Sri Akal: The Qua'ran does not make mention of this ban, but music is generally nto accepted in Islam as they associate it with dancing women and other carnal things not to be associated with religion. (Wierd, as the Namaz is almost "sung" to the masses)...
  4. Sat Sri Akal: Uh...yeah... Let's see here.... JO GAJKAE BOLAVAE SO NIHAL..................................................... SSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII AAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As per drawof Sahib/Sahiban's question, this would be the first time hearing that Hanuman Natak was one of the Dasam Patshah's writings. I do not know why it is being brought up...any reasons? Also, let's not be biased. I don't see anyone bringing up any Muslim, Christian or Judaic texts for discussion...just Hindu texts. Please...feel free to explain.
  5. Sat Sri Akal: Rehat applies to SIKHS...aka. Amritdhari Sikhs. If you were Amritdhari in 2nd grade...well, go see the Panj Pyare. If you were not, then you did not have a Rehat to follow, you were not a Sikh.
  6. Sat Sri Akal: Well...try stopping then... Pretty sure you will come back to trying...
  7. Sat Sri Akal: Uh...is not one of the Thakats, Thakat Hazoor Sahib, completely under the control of Nihungs? If the Nihungs want so desparately to be called the Panjvah Thakat, then...their demand has already been met, no?
  8. Sat Sri Akal: Sangat Ji, if you want some information on the types of steel used n making knives, go here: http://www.worldknives.com/wkknifesteels.html Short summaries and good information on various materials. Best is recycled steel knives...made from car springs   Hehehe...envorinmentally friendly and darned tough knives.
  9. Sat Sri Akal: If it is not too late, I just founf this article: http://www.sikhcoalition.org/Sikhism8.asp Sikhism and Islam, Sirdar Kapur Singh Hope it helps.
  10. Sat Sri Akal: Vaar 1, Pauri 49. http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?Sour...o=01&Line_No=49
  11. Sat Sri Akal: Agreed Magermuch Singh. I was referring to Maidani Jang (battle field) not ambush attacks.
  12. Sat Sri Akal: This was spoken by two Kathakaris on two separate occasions in a Gurudwara when I heard it. They stated that when Sikhs were ready to engage the enemy, first they initiated Jaap Sahib, as it a Bani focused specifically on the Lord's rememberance and its attributes. Only then would the Sikhs begin battle with the opponent, thus fulfilling the duty of being a Saint first and a Siphai after.
  13. Sat Sri Akal: Going to ruin your "peacefulness" here.   Alright you so-called Nihungs. I gotta job for you. You see, a Nihung is nothing if not a Sikh of the Guru. And a Sikh of the Guru cannot tolerate insult of his Master, Guru Sahib. So...in Punjab, there is one called Bhaniarawala. He has burned Birs of Guru Granth Sahib. As that is the ultimate disrespect of the Guru Sahib, go kill him. While you are there, kill the ones they call Tohra and Badal, and Barnala and KPS Gill. Do this, and then and ONLY then call yourself a Nihung, a ladla of the Guru. And don't try to pass this onto other groups (why hasn't this group or that group done anything). Nihungs are people of action and don't make excuses. They just do. So chop chop. Enough Chakta on goats...all that practice should be put to use. Learning ShastarVidiya or whatever for 20 years is worth nothing if it is not used for its purpose...to defend the honor of Sikhism and its Guru. Go on...
  14. Sat Sri Akal: Here you go (not complete - nothing is - but a great summary): http://www.sikhs.org/relig_m.htm Remember to reference the website and the Guru Granth Sahib. Colleges are getting a little crazy with plagirism penalties.
  15. Sat Sri Akal: Got all research crazy looking into Kukris. For all you Weapon Admirers or even collectors, try this website: http://www.himalayan-imports.com/khuk1.html Nevada, US importer from Nepal. They offer one Kukri which they dare you to break called the The Chiruwa Ang Khola. 1/2" thick!!! Ok...must relax and breathe...must go and chop something...
  16. Sat Sri Akal: Sleepy? Take a COLD shower right before doing Paath. That oughta hold you at least until you are done.
  17. Sat Sri Akal: It is obvious that selling tickets for gambling is bothering you. So Don't. Do other service, volunteer in other ways. I am sure the organization will not care. Good to hear people doing service in their communities. A true Sikh tradition. Keep it up Samosa Singh Sahib!
  18. Sat Sri Akal: Here's my personal pick  8) http://www.worldknives.com/product.asp?produid=506&manuid=38 Some interesting information on the wesbite...look in the "Knife Tips" button in the left column for some articles...
  19. Sat Sri Akal: Hey Narsinga, say Hi to Bal Thackrey for me! Are you Khalsa or Shiv Sena?
  20. Sat Sri Akal: Nobody does...that's why they should be referred to as "artist renditions".
  21. Sat Sri Akal: I am thinking that the Muslim women are not miserable because they are reading the Koran. Perhaps the falsehood, bloodshed and hatred surrounding them is prompting them to cry out to the Almighty and to read the Koran for answers? But I am a moorakh...
  22. Sat Sri Akal: Laughing at the wrong time (during Kirtan or serious katha or reading of the hukamnama) is kinda disrespectful. But sometimes Kathakaris (like Baba Maan Singh) even crack a joke in their Katha and the Sangat goes 'a chuckling. Kinda use your common sense as to when to laugh and not. Otherwise, Sikhs are very chardi-kalaa people...
  23. Sat Sri Akal: Yes...I scare myself every day...
  24. Sat Sri Akal: Prayers go out to those who lost loved ones to a tragedy of hate. May Guru Sahib bless the world with its grace and provide us the path out of this Dark Age.
  25. Sat Sri Akal: You want to know something about 1984...ask someone who was there...
