  1. Please do so. So do you follow Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Bhai Gurdas Ji's vaaran or Tankahnama?
  2. Got a link to the photos? Have you seen the bir yourself? Where in Guru Sahib does it say to wake up and read JapJi Sahib and Anand Sahib?
  3. Now you want to make a new Nitnem? How will you guys do Amrit Sanchar? You speak of unity..... You also say you follow Guru Sahib's teachings - how did you become a Sikh of Guru Sahib, what initiation did you undergo? Do you wake up at Amritvela, have ishnan and do Simran?
  4. Guptsingh, how do you know who compiled the old birs we have - do you expect to find signatures of the compiler? I mentioned in another thread how no bir, whether Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji or Sri Dasam Granth, has been accurately dated. The reason is that accurate dating methods are all destructive. Many of the banis within Sri Dasam Granth have dates written in them, by Guru Sahib. For Sikhs who have faith in Guru Ji, that is enough proof. Can you explain to me which teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji you follow and which ones from Sri Dasam Granth you don't?
  5. The dates written within Sri Dasam Granth, by Guru Sahib, are enough proof. Besides, nobody has ever dated any of the old birs, whether of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji or Sri Dasam Granth - all forms of accurate dating are destructive and hence not used.
  6. O Nanak, no one returns empty-handed; Such is the Court of the True Lord. ||1||Pause|| -1st Patshah, Ang 878
  7. What debate are you going on about? why don't you come here? Why did you cancel the debate after making flyers on facebook? Like Guru Sahib says, sometimes the only way you can get a moorakh to understand something is by using a danda. Here we have someone who hasn't even taken Amrit, doesn't follow many of Guru Ji's hukams and he thinks he understands Dasam Bani enough to curse it. Sharam kar!
  8. Dasam duar is at the crown of the head, there are a few chakras above that as well.
  9. This is a complex issue and seemingly, a paradox. If Waheguru knows the future, which He does, then that implies that the future is fixed - there is only one possible outcome, because it is already known. Yet, there is karma, reaping what you sow, etc. Waheguru is beant!

  11. That's hardly a scientific source - more a gossip magazine, and is, in my humble opinion, a load of rubbish. You can get all the same proteins from vegetarian sources. Also, how many Punjabi youth still work their fields/ are blacksmiths or carpenters? A very small percentage, if any.
  12. Sources please, because there is no scientific reasoning to validate this. The first line is the Indian attitude to sport that I was talking about. Indians may have moved to other countries but their mentality is the same. However, this is changing slowly and there are a few up and coming athletes in MMA, wrestling, weightlifting, boxing, football, cricket and hockey.
  13. I come from Kenya so know a bit about this. Running is seen as a career choice, the way we see office jobs. Kids, living at very high altitudes often have to walk/run over 10km to school everyday in the area that most of the runners come from. There are also very early selection tests and the training environment is perfect for medium - long distance running. Regarding cricket - bear in mind that Indian conditions and pitches favour spin bowlers but don't forget that Pakistan and Sri Lanka have had good fast bowlers. Which Indian parents encourage their children to take up sports full time? If there were guaranteed government grants that were equivalent to a good salary and sports training centres available then the story would be different. Just look at China - they have a huge sport development programme where young athletes train full-time. They topped the medals table at the last Olympics. To compete at Olympic level, you have to train full-time. Apart from cricket, which other sport in India pays enough to support the family? It will take a long time for attitudes to change, and without the right government policies, they will never change. Punjabi genetics are probably among the best in the world for strength and stamina - the product of thousands of years of war and survival of the fittest.
  14. The book mentions 9 hukams (commands) given by Guru Nanak Ji, but doesn't list them (unless I missed them). Any idea what it's referring to?
  15. Rubbish! Lazyness is the problem, not genetics (in Punjab anyway - genetics in other parts do seem a bit dodgy). Maybe if everyone stopped trying to be a bollywood wannabe or an accountant/doctor/engineer and did some exercise, things would change. The fact is that for most Indians these days, sports are seen as something you watch on tv. Cricket barely qualifies as a sport - if only the British introduced rugby to Punjab! Saying that, Punjabi teams are unbeatable in Kabaddi and you'd be surprised at the levels of fitness and strength required. In the UK, there are quite a few Punjabis involved in all sports, but not professionaly. That has more to do with our priorities rather than genetics etc.
  16. He's in good form at the moment. Hard to believe he's been playing 20 years!

  18. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Kam has stared a blog where he will translate various granths, starting with Sri Nanak Parkash. The link is: Here. It will be updated regularly, and Sri Nanak Parkash will take about a year to translate.
  19. Check out this photo of an ant holding 100 times its bodyweight while standing upside-down on a smooth pane of glass: Photo & story Waheguru's creation never ceases to amaze!
