  1. Who needs milk when we got naam power, Chandi Di Vaar, Shastarnaam mala. We aint just any warrior tradition, we are the ones who fight savaa lakh at a time!
  2. Did Guru Ji teach it? No, don't think so, therefore we don't need it. You guys don't realise what a beautiful and simple path Guru Maharaj has given us, yet it is the nature of the human mind to run around. Do you know all of those yogis, naths and sidhs reactions to the coming of Guru Nanak? The solution they had all been waiting for had finally come, before this they had all this knowledge yet still suffered from houme da rog, no love for Vaheguru. Don't waste your time, just bani parro!
  3. regardless of wether or not it refers to a religion or a nationality, its usage is improper. Sikhi is universal and above all countries, or if anything the universal brotherhood of the khalsa panth. rubbish
  4. akj with a hint of taksali actually.
  5. oh lord simrat bed puran pukaran potheea naam bina sabh KOORH galee hocheea. Kachi bani.
  6. ^HAHAAHAHAAH made me laugh like crazy. Don't worry, they are doing the damage to themselves lol. Sant ki ninda is bad for the soul
  7. Pandta di galla... Guru Sahib has already sorted us out but we go away from Guru Sahib's gifts and this is what happens, this is why we get confused. Three words for ya guys: Bhai, Singh, Kaur.
  8. I have to say maharaj really has done grace on prof. ji, was blown away the other day by Gopal tera arta, first one I had listened to of him and I just could not believe what was happening to me lol.
  9. Good article but I wish they had written direct arguments against what the hindutva losers have been saying. This 'IUS' sounds interesting.
  10. Dhan Dhan Bhagat Kabeer Sahib Ji was given naam from his Guru at that time which was Ram,Dhan Dhan Bhagat Ramanand Sahib Ji at that point must not have recieved naam from Guru Sahib. I have a pretty good idea that most people on here will believe that the Bhagat Sahib's did not meet Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji and recieve naam from him, I won't bother going into that as its a whole debate, however this is the view I hold. Xylotol jio, Gurmantar is the highest naam, there is nothing higher than Gurmantar, Gurmantar is Vaheguroo himself. And why cannot Guru Sahib give the jugti himself? Who ever heard of the chela of a Guru not being provided all spiritual guidance by their Guru? Why this exception with Guru Nanak Dev Ji's panth? How did this panth allow fellow chelas to become masters?
  11. LOL, do you realise what you guys are saying? How on earth can Gurmat exist before a Guru???? loool. Anyway, there is no such thing as a "before Guru Nanak Dev Ji", Guru Nanak Dev Ji is aad jugaad, the eternal Guru. Saying before Guru Nanak dev ji is like saying before Vaheguru! Lets disect what the word itself, Gurmat means. It means the mat of the Guru. It's kind of obvious therefore that that which has not come from Guru Sahib is obviously not Gurmat, but the mat of whatever source it has come from. Simply put Gurmat is Gurbani as this is the mukhvaak of the Guru, and the vedas are, well, Vedmat. It's that simple. Sikhi is infact the dharam of ALL FOUR AGES, as stated in Gurbani. You understand Gurmat using Guru's mat, Guru's mat is in Gurbani and all things created by Guru Sahib, i.e. khalsa panth and the panj pyare. Guru is Guru Granth and Guru Panth, what these two say is Gurmat, nothing else, as nothing else is the Guru. All those things you mentioned are found from Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and Dhan Dhan Guru Panth. Anyway have you read what Guru Sahib has said about vedas and katebas in Bachitar Natak sahib?
  12. the only naam for a sikh is Vaheguroo as this was the naam created by Vaheguroo himself for himself.
  13. Regardless of how a brahmgyani is, they may be one with Guru Sahib, they are still NOT Guru Sahib himself. There is a difference. Its not our place to question hukam of maharaj. Amardeep jio you raise an interesting point and I will try to look into that. For the time being what I will say is that Panj Pyare are Guru roop and are the system established for amrit sanchar and administration of naam, not only are they roop but Guru Sahib's power is vested there also. Perhaps Guru Sahib was just referring to the fact that Khalsa is his image? Apologies if I am wrong here. Shaheediyan Ji, Gurmat naam, the only one for a Sikh of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj
  14. That's a good post but no individual can give naam, they are not Guru Sahib. Read Gurbani, its quite clear that only Guru Sahib can give naam. Guru Sahib's hukam is that his roop is the Panj Pyare- You recieve naam from them, we cannot override this hukam.
  15. Why cannot guru sahib directly tell us what he means when he says atma? Just because we cannot comprehend whether or not Guru Sahib has actually already explained it does not mean it is not there. Furthermore who are we to decide that the explanation of the terms used in Gurbani in the Vedas is what Guru Sahib meant? The presence of the same words does not mean that the meaning is the same. When we are 'reading' Gurbani, we will understand exactly enough as Guru Sahib wishes us to at that point in time. I have a Guru who knows exactly what I do and don't understand, and I trust him enough that I won't need anything else than him for that.
  16. whats with all the negative notes you leave next to all these inspirational things man? If we are fortunate enough to have had so much great sangat of sants and have access to all these vichaars, then surely by now we would learn that as Sikhs we should not have such pre-concieved notions and feel so negative towards others, even if they are to you. All these great sikhs would definetly NOT approve of the making of negative sarcastic remarks against brothers (even if they are in the wrong), etc.
  17. sikhism101.com and the best SRIGRANTH.ORG Go straight to the source.
  18. While I respect guroo ji de beloved mahapursh, they are not my guru, and with his kirpa at the end of the day it is Guru Ji who I am following, not his other students. Guru Ji alone knows why other of his sikhs/gurmukhs are doing certain things, as it is Guru Ji's bhana. Guru Ji has told me that I don't need anyone but him, and infact going anywhere else will be detrimental to my spiritual journey. and funnily (ironically) enough, the mahapursh's that Guru Sahib has blessed me with having contact with have said the same. Guru Ji isn't a granth, Guru Ji is sitting right there for you to beg for help from, Guru Ji is there to give you anything you want, but you wana go and get thakke following kachi bani. Guru Sahib is pooran guru and ALIVE, he knows exactly what you do and don't understand, and can explain to you any knowledge you can possibly think of and more in an instant, rather than spending a life time studying granths! IT IS AN INSULT TO GURU JI TO GO ANYWHERE OTHER THAN HIM OR HIS SANGAT FOR YOUR SPIRITUAL PROGRESSION, WHAT IS IT THAT GURU SAHIB CAN'T GIVE YOU?
  19. In regards to usage and recitation of Granths belonging to Hindu Dharam (as a Khalsa).
  20. damn shame when people don't realise its all there with Guru Sahib, damn shame.
  21. Although I have come across people discussing such concepts, so far in my personal khoj nowehere in Gurbani have I seen Maharaj go indepth into splitting up the different parts of mind, soul, etc. perhaps I am on a lower level. However, all Guru Sahib has taught me at the moment is the jot placed inside us by Vaheguru. Rest at the moment are concepts seemingly from vedic souce, I personally don't have any reason to go delve in there as for me if Maharaj hasn't decided to tell us about it its not for us to care about (personal opinion). All I know is the simple concept Maharaj has told me of aatma CREATED by Vaheguru, which is property of Vaheguru. This does not tell me that our aatma is same as Vaheguru, although it does have the same properties as him as it is created out of him (my own understanding). A drop out of an ocean is from the ocean, but is not the ocean itself! Vedantic schools end at aatma realisation, however under Gurmat this is nowhere near the place to stop at. Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji wrote about his aatma realisation almost immediately after he had recieved naam and contemplated it ceaselessly for just a whole night! However after experiencing this bliss of knowing his real self, the bliss was transitory and the longing for Vaheguru persisted. Realising that you are not the body is simply one of the first landmarks that appears on the way, it is helpful because it allows one to realise what it is they wish to merge with Vaheguru. That thuk you provided I actually see it very differently. To me that doesn't mean to say that immediately on realising aatma one merges with Vaheguru, it just says that Khalsa has had aatma realisation, and that as a result the Singh is ready to move on to merger with Vaheguru. Terminology used by Guru Sahib to describe merger with Vaheguru suggests the the meeting between two things, not the simple realisation that you are God. Aham Brahmasya idea is maha manmat, in Sikhi its TUHI TUHI.
