  1. OOh I just was this on Dave Ja vu channel last night, maybe they will show it again on Dave, I didn't record it... Next week is the next episode of his India travels..
  2. Chand is always shown even less than half, almost a quarter or a third, whether it be on Shiv ji, on Islamic or jewsih objects, or on dumalla. Does that have anything at all with the AAD?
  3. So what does the Aad Chand respresent? What is Mahakaal? Also: Adi Guru Granth Sahib Ang page 1192 ਕਬੀਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਏਕ ਰੰਗ ॥ कबीरि धिआइओ एक रंग ॥ Kabīr ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫o ek rang. 4. That would be good, some women have problems due to lack of iron, perhaps cooking in iron needs to become the norm.
  5. I don't see the point in this, these are the same guys that were on some indian tv show right?
  6. ok, but then here are 2 pictures that state otherwise: http://www.sikhmuseu...ent.html#shiva4 "Photo 4 of 15 Reading the Granth Sahib Photographer Hannah P. Adams, ca. January 24, 1906, silver gelatin print, Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, SSB Collection A Sikh reading the Guru Granth Sahib at the Darbar Sahib complex. He wears a dark (likely blue) turban and robes with an unusual Aad Chand composed of only the Shiva crescent moon symbol and two decorative balls below without the central khanda sword. Photo 5 of 15 Nihang Warrior ca. 19th century, wall mural, Gurdwara Baba Atal, Amritsar, photographer Satpal Singh Danish, Panjab Digital Library This Nihang wears the Shiva Chandra moon on his turban with two decorative balls below it, the Shiva crescent moon also appears on his dhal shield. The large khanda sword emblem in his turban does not appear between the curves of the Shiva crescent moon or near it. The two decorative balls below the crescent are thus not the handle of a sword, but some other meaningful elements of the emblem."
  7. LOL! What would happen if we told stuff regarding the khanda women before they try and take khanday dee pahul amrit? Also they sell the one on the left at Havelock, if you talk to the guy, but I think the bigger one they have is different
  8. I actually brought one from Havelock Singh Sabha yesterday with the dangling at the bottom.
  9. There is one thing I can think about, as there are two of them, ie a pair. Would make sense with the khanda? However there should be another reason?
  10. thrown out of ramgharia gurdwara you guys serious?
  11. is that from hair wax or hair gel?
  12. ok, I decided to return to this thread. Sangat is asking for explanations, let me see what I can provide. Halal meat was given when hindustanis were forcefully converted to islam. So, to hindu(stani), sikhs; halal is kuttha. ok, lets go into how muslim administration they took advantage of pendoos. Basically, by giving halal to uneducated villagers, the villagers became muslim by a loophole. Because the meat had the kal am (is that the right word?) read over it, then by eating the halal meat, the consumer had also indirectly read the kalam and therefore becomes a muslim. By using this loophole, the person was binded to islam under islamic administration. To reject islam would be punishable by death, so the person had no choice, as a muslim administration shall use their law to kill someone to denounce islam. So, that is an explanation. Also, halal killing is incompatible with the ancient kshatriya tradition of jhatka. Halal is a foreign/alien, and malesh tradition from arabia/arvasthan, and its not ours! OK?! Also, you can bring the ethics into it. But even gurbani in Guru Granth Sahib is biased against halal method, due to killing slaughtering in the name of Allah. Gurus made us sikhs people who do not follow these types of rituals that can be seen as unpatriotic rituals, rituals that only a person that had sided with the enemy administration would practise. Also by doing halal, we forget our own warrior kshatriya traditions, that Guru ji revived with the Khalsa. To eat halal would be to be gulam. On another not; Singhs did have a loophole, and that is to do Bhog of the Halal meat with a kripaan. A good example of this is when Guru ji became Uch da pir, and the Singhs with Guru ji had to eat the halal parshaad. The kirpaan was used to do bhog of the halal meat parshaad. There are probably many times in war time when Singhs have had to use bhog when only halal meat is around, whne they attacked some muslim strongholds for example. So, we could start being weird in public and start doing bhog in public if we go to a place that serves halal for stupid reasons, like at wembley stadium or some uk schools. It would would be a right riot! haha
  13. I am more worried about the hate towards turban from the sikh girls than the violence from others!!!!
  14. Hmm the post didn't mention Bhai Nand Lal; I think I found it through Googling, can the Admins find this post on this forum perhaps? Unless its not on here?
  15. 5. I have heard the rehat given by Guru was very simple. Also about the kakkars thing, I know there is something that some sikhs bring up about the last page in some saroop of Dasam Granth having 5 kakkars written. However, on one of these forums, there is someone who talks about the inclusion of this page accidentally and was not written by Guru ji. But I cannot seem to remember where the post was, it would either be on sikhsangat or on this forum. 6. Is the khanda a masculine symbol? Does khanda da amrit not only make Singhs and requires one to behave like a male, how can khanda amrit produce kaurs? Or is my logic flawed? That is my thinking, that Khanda is a masculine respresentation, whereas kripaan is feminine. Those with ancient knowledge/gyaan can dvelve further. When women demanded Amrit, did puraatan sampradaiye not start traditions using feminine symbol kripaan to give amrit like I have heard they do in Hazoor Sahib? 7. And obviously, the other sampradaiye show that not all sikhs could have taken khandeh dee pahul, especially those whose mission in sikh panth did not tally with kshatriya dharam.
  16. I tried a wax from Vo5, its really good comes in a tub. Incidentally, can someone tell me how much hair wax contributes to greying, as I have been told hair gel increases greying?
  17. Anand Karaj is done for grihast dharam, between same gender grihast dharam is impossible, is it not?
  18. This is true though, this seems to happen so there are gay happenings, but is it Homo or is it more like what happens in prisons, where this stuff is seen as dominant males as opposed to sexuality. I think it happebns due to lack of contact with females. Interestingly, I used to go to uni sikh societies, and one of the quite well known Singhs from West London, who sometimes dresses like a Nihang but seems a little confused of who he follows (but I am confused because he is always preaching against meat and against culture and hates hindus) always used to say gay stuff about people, like encouraging gay tendencies between 2 Singhs in front of him; and also seemed a little jealous/envious when he saw me with girls... hmm just a thought... ... I have sometimes come in contact with these people because of universities, but I have always stayed on the edge of contact as I live in a gora area.
  19. Where is this topic, and what about those who follow grihazt dharm? Hmm but how does this equate sants and warriors? I am the son of a Kshatriya and not of a Brahmin who may instruct for performing severe austerities; how can I absorb myself in the embarrassments of the world by leaving you; Whatever request I am making with my folded hands, O Lord ! kindly be graceful and bestow this boon on me that when ever my end comes, then I may die fighting in the battlefield.2489.
  20. God is some angry, vengeful being found in the Bible, who kills everyone who doesn't follow him. Also he is a him. Does that answer your questions? God does not = Waheguru/Ram/Gobind/Hari/Vishnu/Mahakaal/Chandi/Bhagauti/Kalika/etc
  21. is that the ones who dress like kshatris and then tell everyone off for not being vegeterian? Or maybe the kshatris that need half an hour to take the kirpans out of their gatras if the situation arises. Ah, there are many kshatris that either behave like they are brahmin, or a mix of confusion!
  22. oh dear, are you wound up again? What have the lowly peasants done to you this time? The khalsa cannot lose its kshatri dharam due to a few lowly peasants can it? And yes these peasants are following religion now, they have become "advanced" because the british introduced them to "religion". Only need a few bibles now and the missions shall be complete!
  23. the khalsa tries to be autonomous, but the SGPC keeps trying again and again to stick their leg in and corrupt it!
