  1. most of the sikh commies had pag. this is an old film, i seen it many moons ago. the bhagat singh brigade are emmissaries for peace not justice. their arguments are bullsheet.
  2. neo bhaji, whats the hurry? is the forums police coming after you or summat for allowing this thread to go on?
  3. i will have a look at the shabd you have posted. in the meantime your signature says: ਗੁਰੁ ਈਸਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਰਖੁ ਬਰਮਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਮਾਈ ॥ gur eesar gur gorakh baramaa gur paarabathee maaee || The Guru is Shiva, the Guru is Vishnu and Brahma; the Guru is Paarvati and Lakhshmi. ~SGGS Ji ang 2 this is a translation of sikhi to the max., a simple word for word traslation gives you Guru Shiva, Guru Vishnnu, etc, but the antreev katha in panjabi of this by Giani Thakur Singh and others, is that this line is replying to the Sidhs , and Guru Nanak Says that my Guru is the Guru of Shiv, Guru of Vishnu, etc. When you chose this as your signature, did you research it, or did you listen to any katha by any knowledgeable persons as to what this line means? or did you copy and paste it just cos it (in your mind) reinforced what you thought?
  4. harjas kaur ji,im getting the feeling that you place emphasis of viakarn arth of gurbani only. do you recognise the antreev arths at all? you have also great reliance on the work of others, prob sttm and their english translation of gurbani.
  5. harjas kaur ji, for someone who cant read gurmukhi prorperly, do you think you may be over-relying on english translations, which can be wildly inaccurate?
  6. you think that gurmat is "human thought"? during the moghal empire did idol worship stop?
  7. "But to worship the image of a lady on a tiger is foolish. To worship the eternal Light behind such representations is altogether different" Laal Singh has made himslef clear on what he thinks of the above quote. i agree with him. i dont think there is any merit in it whatsoever. And i dont think that Guru Nanak thought there was any merit in it as well.
  8. Bahi Fateh SIngh ji, where have youbeen hiding? Giani Gian Singh says in his writings, sikhs married by way of anand that was different to the hindu customs.
  9. Harjas Kaur Ji, another question. is the devi the complete shakti of God or like 50% or something?
  10. so tsingh, is gurmat another branh on this tree of vedanta? if what you write is true, was there any reason for Gurmat to be revealed in kalyug, as all the knowledge for mukti was already revealed for jeev way before. Did Guru Nanak Dev Ji ever talk of advait vedanta or did he copy their ideas?
  11. I dont think that gurbani anywhere has said that God is seperate from his creation. moreso, gurbani has stated many times that the creation is within God. But where there is no creation and space only, do you think there is no God there? why does Gurbani have to be looked at thru vedantic glasses? When did vedant become a part of sikhi? Tsingh, i wished to ask you this question as well, why the nirmalas only see things with vedantic vision? and whether you can tell me if Guru Nanak did as well. khima.
  12. good point maha singh ji. we also shouldnt have the attitude that if someone says soemthing thats fit in with what we beleive to be correct then, they are always correct and others are always incorrect. i have never said it didnt happen. i just dont beleieve that it happened the way gian singh is saying.
  13. even if giani gian singh said it, it doesnt make it true. Gianiji also said that Guru Ji took afheem. you beleoive this is true as well?
  14. very wise words shaheediyan. i at the very old age of 35 would not be able to run halfway what Fauja Singh at the young age of 93 would. Do we have an obligation to learn shastervidya ? i think we do, upto a minimum point where we can use our ouwn kirpans to defend, and then anything after, what our lifestyle allows.
  15. dal singh, you are going to get banned from this forum for your crime of correcting gogi bhaji!
  16. we all know about spiritual awareness and progression. We know that the aim to to become one with Akal. But what about physical awareness and progression? What are the aims for us to be physically? ie are we to aspire to run 100 metres in under 10 secs? are we to able to lift 1 quintel of atta? to be able to wrestle good? are we to be able to wave a sword round for 1 hour? Sikhs in the olden days kept fit by shaster-vidya daily and fighting jangs. What should we be doing today? your thoughts and if you dont mind, what exercise you do yoursleves, with dedication, and whether you do these exercises to please your Guru or your vanity. khima.
  17. you forgot the end result jattboot. even that may be brahmanised to some.
  18. Harjas Kaur Ji. that was very interesting. tell me, do you view the feminine atributes of gurbani as representing the devi. specificaly where you have quoted "The One Divine Mother conceived and gave birth to the three deities." do you see this great mother as the tiger-riding devi? also you have placed great emphasis on the sargun swaroop of gurbani. do you believe Guru Granth Sahib to be the physical representation of Guru's body ie the cover and the pages and the ink etc or the word itslef to be the spiritual representation of Guru? is the anhad shabad sargun or nirgun? how does naam exist in the material world when it is spoken? And what if it is not spoken but mentally remmebered?
  19. the first paragraph seems to be more a direct copy and paste job from sarblos.info. we all know what their agenda is. isnt it a bit hankaari of gian singh to say that "i have all this knowledge...the service i have done for the panth..." etc. the second paragraph could be equally and easily appled to Baba Santa Singh's conduct over Akal Takht repairs in 84. it sounds like gian singh knowing he was going to die thought the only way the sikhs will know of the work he has done is to giv it to vir singh et all, then finding when he has recovered, wanting it back so he can recieve the adulation directly rather than indirectly.
  20. you have just made that up. i have read that gian singh knew that he was dying, and having lied about guru ji taking afheem, was worried that he would die in agony, so he asked vir singh to have his works, correct them and publish them, after this happened gian singh recovered.
  21. i had a look at the 2nd link. here is a quote from it : The first story of the Devi Mahatmya depicts Devi in her universal form as Shakti. Here Devi is central and key to the creation myth; she is the power that induces Vishnu's deep slumber on the waters of the cosmic ocean prior to the manifestation of the Universe which is a continuous cycle of manifestation, destruction and re-manifestation... Hasnt Guru Ji in bani said that the Shivas and Shaktas are all created by or subservient to God? Here is a quote fromn the first link : The life span of Brahma consists of Dwiparardha. The day and night of Brahma are of equal duration. Brahma is the origin of this universe. He is the inconceivable soul- the supreme lord and the cause of all the events. He is beyond the reach of activities. He enters into Prakriti and Purusha- excites both of them to get unified. When Prakriti gets excited, the Supreme Lord manifests Himself in the egg as Brahma. He then commences his creation. The same Brahma attains the form of Vishnu due to the effect of his Satva guna and nurtures the whole creation. Under the influence of Tamo guna, He attains the form of Rudra and finally annihilates the whole creation. He then goes into hibernation.' 'This way, the same Almighty God in his three different forms of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh performs his duties of creation, nurturing and annihilation respectively... this has already been answered in gurbani many times. Ive come to this conclusion. if you want to know what Guru Ji thinks about devi, then read bani, if you want to get into the myriad of theories and what-not and waste your life debating things of little relevance then read the vedic scriptures. im thinking that if this is the prctaice of nirmalas, is this what Guru ji really expected of them?
