  1. now.. the way you wrote the topic subject made me do ulti, cuz you spelt it bhindi...and i HATE bhindi valli sabji... augh... and.. haha i've never worn one (unless my sister put oneon in my sleep:S), and i don't plan on anytime soon
  2. rupy rupy rupy.. such HYPOCRISY, i don't know where to begin with you, tarnishing this board with your hypocrisy hahahah i recall making fun of your americanness way bcak when, and you told the admin at that time that i made fun of you, and got me a warning:P tsk tsk
  3. who said there's 8.4 million species on this planet?? the number 8.4 million is mentioned, but is it mentioned as a number for the universe or as a number for just this planet???
  4. Since when is gurdwara a party??? since people realized that gurdwaras have become the ideal place for a social gathering.. after all, at gurdwara, they get to look spiritual, AND they get to look socially active! (but only on Baisakhi and other big days, cuz too much gurdwara = too much spiritual, and NO ONE wants that  ) It's been bothering me too.. not that i go to gurdwara often, with my common excuse of it being too far from my house, or substituting it with the fact that i do sangat every week already.... sad excuses, i know.. But the truth is, Gurdwara became a social party when people decided that being Sikh 8 days outta the year is all that is needed... the best is asking these people if they go to gurdwara.... their response is almost always a hesitant yes.... after all, the person asking them may be considered spiritual, and to say no would result in a negative image.... i think i'm going all over the place here, with like.. psychoanalysis and stuff... point is, it bothers me too. I didn't even go to Gurdwara for Baisakhi this year, and i usually do not go, but when i do go on a regular sunday, it boggles my mind to see that no one wants to come on a regular day, but everyone will come on a big day... it's sad... let's blame it on kaljug, shall we....:S
  5. welllllllll from what i can tell you, the city's probably still as boring as ever!!!! but the universtiy is really building a very strong SSA there, and they hold raensabhayees throughout the year... there is their own proper gurdwara which (correct me if i'm wrong) they have recently renovated. however, that is the extent of my knowledge of Boring Old Kitchener!
  6. forgive my ignorace, cuz i didn't read many of the replies, so forgive me if i'm repeating something..but this is my view on missionary religions: They go against God's Will.. We are born into a family, into a certain religion for a reason! to force somebody to leave that is to disobey God's Will. That is the attitude and the actions of people who think they are greater than God. Again, my personal beliefs lead me to respect Islam, but to never really take it seriously by any means... it just feels non-sensical to me... the very religion that is supposedly for all humans can not even be VERIFIED by those humans using logical means (i.e science) God's Will isn't something to mess with... even those who leave their religion for another should recognize this, but they too feel they know their own good.. That God made a mistake (somehow ????) by putting them in the wrong religion but that is the play of Kaljug
  7. haaaaaaanji...gurfateh I guess i've stayed away long enough..... hahaha i wonder how many really remember me, but Sumeeet Kaur Bhanji has persuaded me to give this thing another shot...... and cuz i trust her as my sister, here i am! hahah and y'all thought you could get rid of my wierdness!! tsk tsk!
  8. hehe..rather..i don't think you can compare science to our Shri Guru Granth Sahib......as i recall someone saying on this site.... science doesn't prove sikhi...sikhi proves science...
  9. hey muggy.....i'm gonna take a WILDDD stab...purely outta the blue..... but i'm guessing the lack of replies means no one knows where it is.... pure guess though hehe....
  10. i might be the only one that thinks so..... but.... that's one impressive user name, bud

  13. impossible..... bikramjit doesn't read thoroughly.... he just finds what he likes...
  14. for people who insist fully that their word is better than gurujis, it really doesn't make a word.... why must you question every single thing, that's what i wanna know... yeah, sikhi says learn and not to follow blindly, but man, start your own religion if you're gonna questions and change every single facet of stuff...
  15. correction...you have 2 kuriyaan and a mugermach stalking you
  16. that's cuz no matter where a jew went, a jew was persecuted. in all honesty, sikhs live amazing lives across the world
  17. so how come the placment of Mundaavni Mahala Punjvaan isn't being questioned? in every other set of shabads in different raags, the saloks are done in numerical order... from Guru Nanak to whichever Guruji was the "last" to add to it... how come Mundaavni Mahala Punjvaan is after Guru Tegh Bahadur saloks? argue about this too... or do you conveniently have a scholar to back you up on this one too???
  18. i just can't understand why Baba Gurbachan Singh's words aren't enough...... it makes me mad...i'm not taksali or anything, but is there anyone on this forum that can actually question this logic: I will read raagmala because it's a part of my Guru. If it turns out that it's not real baani, then i will beg forgiveness frmo my All-Powered master. If it is baani, and i chose not to read it, then i'm putting my mat in front of Guru's mat, and therefore, i can not be forgiven. To me, it's like.. if you call yourself more intelligent than Guru, you're paving the one-way path to hell. can ANYONE on this forum..... ANYONE question that logic.... like...how does it not make sense? One of the greatest intellects of all time, Baba Gurbachan Singh, puran brahmgianni..... and we go to the works of englishmen, and other prominient "gursikhs".... makes me wonder what some of the motivations really are of some people... follow sikhi? or prove guru wrong.... :? :?
  19. yes, especially when there's a similarily aged, member of opposite sex guest at our house
  20. Some people need Adobe Tutorials.... Others need rock climbing tutorials. and then you have Amardeep Singh...who wants to put up his SAAG MAKING tutorials... the world's gone nuts but i like saag too, SO BRING IT ON !! HEHEH
  21. sadly, a similar thing has happened at the gurdwara in my city as well... We have an "interim" granthi at this point, because our normal granthi had to attend his mother's funeral in india, and apparently, the friday morning before Guru Nanak Devji's Avtar Purab, two ladies/girls came in and handed bags of daal and atta to the granthi, and he thanked them and such. They left, and then when they opened up the daal and stuff later, there was nails and rocks and all these types of things in the bags. disgusting... people who think it only happens in india, guess what...it happens everywhere.. we are now a global target
