hey everyone, ssa! i totally agree that many people say that our religion promotes equality of women but it does not however PRACTICE it! which is frustrating! i mean how many female gianis do u see?? I agree with previous posts that maybe because women have been supressed into these "traditional" roles of the mother and the care taker they can't. Which is kind of the sad truth. And all the people who feel annouyed and do try to stick up for it, need some sort of beginning or guide inorder for them to start. Again i stress that equality for women and the act of doing it is been said and done, its the fact that its not PRACTICE that makes people frustrated and curious at the same time. ANd when i see all these SIKH WOMEN groups or WOMEN for something or another, even if non religious it makes me SO mad because why does there need to be the word WOMEN in it, why can't it be just plain SIKH GROUP.. u know? Its like NBA (national basketball assosiation) which is just FOR MEN but then there is the WNBA (which is women national basketball assoc) Why does there even have to be that? well i think its mainly the cultural issue thats to blame, not the religious, because religiously we have accepted it, cutlurally we haven't, and even if many people say they are really different they still go hand in hand.. lil offtopic but culutrally u never see a women in the bhangra seen, and so therefore you don't see that much in the religious seen as well... i dunno this sounds like a jibber jab! but owe well, the fact is if you keep on trying to promote women equality and not practice it its not really equality, u need to practice it, so i encourage all females to do what they want and fight for it, and for men to AGREE with it! enough respect!!

eat a bananaa! lol noo im j/k umm well what works for me is NOT doin work, but it doesn't work if i know there is work to do! so i do everythin on top of my mind, then enjoy doin sumthin mindless, like listenin to music, dancing, working out!! that definitly helps me, sometimes i clean (lol it goes into good use too) stress is crazy, u juz need to live with it. interesting topic... well may i add at frist that cloning is natural, what do you think indentical twins are?? (or tripilets, etc, etc...) they are clones! And i peronally think embryo reseach is valid, society as a whole makes aborotion an ok practice to do, all those embryos going in a garbage can does not make sense, Why not use these embryos inorder to conduct experiments, inorder to help make new drugs, understand diseases and cancer? May i also add that an embryo is living, but it is not human.. it is a life form, just like insects, flies, spiders, bacteria, etc. YET again we humans favour the lives of ONLY humans... how ignorant are we? I am myself not against or for abortions, its up to the female to chooose if they are able and ready to take this baby... and for that female maybe they should learn about contraception... ITS ONLY DRILLED AT SCHOOL ALL THE TIME (im sick of sex ed!) lol well anywayz im just saying abortions are not a cool thing to do since you are distrubting life, but again we distrubt life all the time as a society by ruining our ozone, killing innocent lives, and yet we only care about aborotions?? I am not against abortions... because i know many teens that have done it and if they havne't their future would be different. But that all leads to one mistake thatt they did before, they never used contreception, which should have been done. And abortions are not the only way to get rid of the baby, there are miscarriages that don't happen by 'accident', which i am sure many people do, or are forced to... Its better to inform people about the options they have then preach it on them, so let them choose what they want, don't force them to do what you want.... maybe there will be more women in the future, without women there are no men.... and without men there are no women... -one

GLOBAL WARMING... ...and other environmental factors are caused by unessisary means, i mean look at the dirtiness, i remember when i was in Kenya this summer, the gurdwara was so pretty and clean inside the wall. Outside the gates it was dirty, filthy, garbage, and who knows what else! This is true all around the globe, people are trashing everything these days! Doesn't anyone care about the environment? God gave us this earth to live on not to destroy and use up like a parasite (which we are). Its sad that our technological advancements are turning out ot be worse, mind you its getting better... but it annouys me when the paper goes in the trash and not the recycle, when the gum is spat out on the ground, when someone littersss the park. THis is nature, this is our world, so don't abuse it..... so why do many people trash the world around them?? Sikhi definatly promotes an environmental, clean world!!! so maybe you should think where and what u do with your trash.... one

im goin to make this short cuz i have to wake early and i have a big day ahead of me tommorow.... say if i was brought up on an island, with NO human contact, i would not have been exposed to any human thoughts or religions or teachings.... so isn't it true that i wouldn't know what "god" is?? isnt' it true if it wasn't for my parents or the people around me, or society as a whole i would have no contact with "god" it would be unknown to me, but thanks to people around me they conditioned me to think this way, and that is just like science, everything we do and say all came from previous experiances or sayings or lectures or people or mothers or books..... so humans are flawed..?! did we make up things?? maybe i am thinking to much, but thats what i like to do, and i think its healthy of me to question about my religion and others, or else i would just be following the crowd and excepting concepts that don't make sense to me.... for all the people who are interested in learning and intereseted in sharing you need to ask questions and you need to think out of the box.. thats what i am doing, and if that is questioning and not following some of my "religion" that so be it, i just use it as a guide line like everyone else.... and as an off topic note may i add the term "ego" which i see a lot misused from its original intention, if u study phsyc, which i just did an intro too, so im no expert, but ego is what you can control, super ego is the good side of what you want something to do, and id is the i want stuff, the "evil" side that we all want... one

Well i never said "MAN" created god, i said humans invented a word for god and thats that precense, and why can't each individual person have their connection to that precence (aka God) so technically there are over a billion million "gods" but its actually just one!!! (hint the saying, OH MY GOD!!) why can't "god" be for me?? I am not selfish, but really god is a precence and everyone can feel it, and he is NOT PERSONIFIED! How would you know if i die?? what if i instead moved to the frouth dimension and become a highly evolved alien?? NO one knows whats after death, so who is to say what is going to happen to "god" and my relation to this presence? you can't assume one thing over the other... well without oxygen my body cannot function, i have no combustion, therefore i cannot live, but thats just in my biological state, why can a plant exist in no oxygen, or even bacteria?? They are living things too! So technically i don't need air, i need to live, to live i have no purpose, and there is no reason for my purpose, may i add that there are more questions than answers in this world... ANd i possibly could exist without my parents... why can't i be NOT human, its selfish and ignorant to say that "god" is what everything on earth believes.. One should except all religion, all cultures, all things, all views equally.... so i accept your opinion and your thoughts, i however dont' agree with them, and sorry you can't change my mind... one

why can't god be a Presence??? Why does GOD have to be always refered to as a "he"???? this is bugging me sooooooo much!! anywayz i think god didn't create humans and i think humans created god... thats my opinion, when you think about it, how do we know for sure?? god to me is a Presence not a "personified" existance however. and we as humans created god to talk about the Presence... this presence is what i think god is, and i think people are wrong to personify god as a personnnnnnnnnnnn so what u think?? one

yeah the reason taht happens usually in discussion forums is because people are too weak and scared to say stuff to your face, or that they are millions of miles away to say it, in the first place... but harassing is something else and that harrassment is usually due to someone being overly addicted to the object (the internet) and seem to have no goals in their lives but to insult others, i might seem like a sensitive person, but at that time i was furious that people were out to get me for my opinion, where is the equality? well equality is the freedome of speech and thats what i have to say, no harrassing should take place. One should accept one idea and share their opinion, then again thats what i think, and i don't inforce it, and i think sikhi promotes this idea, we don't inforce our religion on anyone else, so why should we inforce ways of interpretation and opinion, i think people should just think, and this is not about FEELINGS this is about respect, and if u give respect, you will recieve respect.... that was what i meant by harrassment and that lil statement a while back, it was just the time when people were out to get me instead of excepting the truth that there are other opinions out there.... one

Someone should invent a sadar helmet!!!! think of all the little sadars/singhs out there riding there bikes with no protection for there vital brains! There are enough engineers out there!!! AND a helmet is anything but humiliation, its for protection, a safety guide, not to wear a something for safety (like eye wear when doing a chem experiment), unfourtunately there is no helmet for sardars, but maybe one day there will be, and its for protection, and accidents do happen, you can't prevent it.... one
