yeh i know what ur saying.....it is a minor thing...but in one way its a big thing.....look at our sikh girls how many wear keski? virtually none. if this is what guruji told us to do, it is quite a massive thing really. imagine if for some reason suddenly all sikh women stopped wearing kirpan. i think that it is a important issue, but if u believe kesh is kakkar fine, providing that if u are a lady you wear a keski also, and u never remove it as guruji said!

yeh the muslims i know are ok i guess....but sum otha ppl i know have PROOOPA safe muslim mates, they wont even eat meat infront of him. i would hardly call that girl well clued up, i would just say shes brainwashed. ive known a few people who are exactly the kind of girls that the moslems try to convert and honestly i wouldnt want them in my religion anyway. but what does worry me a bit is how fast islam is growing......pity the conversions are usually out of ignorance and propaganda.

no one knows what happened in the tent (lol it wasnt a curtain) but i can be sure that goats were not killed, because it is against basic sikh tenets. guru gobind singhs father died for the cause not only of hindus but also to show that flashy tricks are totally wrong, and guru gobind singh elaborates on this ESPECIALLY in bachitar natak, why would he go against what his own father had died for, and he had written against in his own book? btw the accounts of him slaughtering a goat came about 50 yrs after gurujis death, as people tried to think of ways how guruji could have done this (they believed he didnt have any special powers)

LOL u are misinterpriting what im saying completely. im not saying that if u are not as intelligent then u are automatically better at sports. but there is something GENETIC which makes black people put muscle on more than white/asian people. they are naturally better runners. most people acknowledge that, and science is proving that genetically asian people are more intelligent. that doesnt mean all black people are stoopid, or all asians are fat, it just means there is a trend in that direction. there is no hitler "my race is superior than yours" in what im saying. in the end our bodies will crumble in 50 yrs time anyway. there are alot of genetic traits. they are not racist or generalisations that all people are this way, theres a trend. i have a few yugoslavian ppl at my school and they are all naturally tonk. most the black peeps at my school are generally more muscley even though they dont do as much weights. notice i say MOST not all. its a trend. just calm down man, im not suggesting anyone is better than anyone else, im just saying there are traits inherant to different ethnic groups. i chatted to my friends about this and they were all cool about it. what are u trying to prove here? and shanti singh......who are u??? where am i emulating kalle? and i think it is a bit racist to say that ghetto slang is inherant to kalle only aswell LOL

muslims are TAKING OVER half of bham lol, alot of black people are moving out to make way for them.........as for conversions i dont know, but since the people they target are, frankly, slappers, i dont really care. muslims dont touch keski wearing/strict singhnees because they know about their own religion. u find that its usually the unknowledgable people who convert, the letter that was circulated admits this (specifically saying that sikh girls know jack all about their own religion), and u also find that emotionally/financially vunerable do the same (ever noticed how many "born again" muslims come out of jails?????) sikhs definately dont need missionaries, they just need to give the youth a little knowledge, people "converting" should be due to others leading by example, not feeding false propaganda.

i think bhai randhir singh did a huge study to prove it was all true. as for the numbering thingy, yeah theres an anomoly of that in shabad hazare, i dont know where else, but then again that same difference occurs at the start and end of SGGS (japji and ragmalla). i have one question, at the beginning of the 24 incarnations, the poet is called SHYAM. isnt that one of gurujis court poets? what is he doing in there? and why does it say "patshahi dasmi" at the top then?

urmmmmmmmmmm dasam granth u can get a translation in a shop the only gurdwara i know where it is up by SGGS is hazoor sahib (run by nihungs). o yeah, and the sarbloh granth is kept by nihungs but little is known about it. it is meant to incite permanent bir raas apparently.

ironically it should be easiest to bring up your kids as sikh - pragmatic lifestyle, no rituals, amazing history, lots of pride and modern concepts. however for some reason the lazy ass sikhs dont take advantage of it!!!!

its hard to explain, just look thru the SGGS and u will realise it - each couplet is numbered 1 2 3 4 etc, till the end of the piece of bani where the number of couplets and a additional running total are added. the rule is "broken" at the beginning and the end of the guru granth sahib (japji and ragmalla, if that is the end, that is). also the rule of adding an author is also "broken" for the beginning of japji and ragmalla. very clever system, is all i can say.

i used to make a big deal on whether guruji had 1 or 2 wives. it did sortov matter to me. then i realised a number of things: 1) in the state of a ultra gurmukh, a wife is for little more than (if wanted) procreation and sharing of spiritual bliss. guru ji had NO kaam at all, this is well known, and can be seen from SGGS. therefore his reasons for having more than one wife are not kaam related. 2) did guruji want more than one wife? well the parents of the gurus chose their wives. guru gobind singh did NOT want to get married at all, he wanted to live a warrior life, but eventually his parents convinced him and settled down. it wasnt like prophet mohammed, who TOLD ayeshas dad that he wanted to marry him. an example is guru tegh bahadur, he came out of jail/prison and he suddenly found that whilst he was in there two women had proposed to him! 3) does it really matter? there is conflicting evidence either way. there are VERY good arguments for and against. why bother? there are no good historical accounts so we will never know the truth (till we are true gurmukh, or had mukti). there are more controversial issues that CAN affect ur spirituality, eg bibek, raagmalla, dasam granth. oh yeah and also, maharajah ranjit singh is a TOSSER. sorry for the naughty language. he was caught having illegitimate sex with a muslim woman, and he had a BIG booze problem. he was not a good sikh (good general tho).

agreed.......i wont share the dattier aspects i have seen/heard with the sangat there are more gursikh men than women for sure......its a biproduct of sexist punjabi society.... but the good thing is......i think that 99.9% of the sikh ladies who keep their hair follow the rahit VERY WELL, usually because they keep their hair out of choice rather than being made to by their parents, whilst boys are more encouraged to keep hair hence alot of them arent very good sikhs. what do u think? or am i totally wrong?
