Rainsbhai

i want to go to a rainsbhai next week , but the problem is that i will not be able to get up on sunday morning to go to the gurdwara to do the sewa that i do.

should i miss the rainsbhai , bearing in mind that there will be a rainsbhai at my local gurdwara in the next 4 weeks?

Or should i forget about the sewa and leave it to the others " without really caring about how my lack of support affects them" ? Should I take the " they'll cope one way or another " attitude?

Whenever any of the other sewadaars have been absent, it places a strain on us and we wish to waheguru that they would turn up. This sewa that we do no-one else there will do , and its very very important.

So sangat Ji , what do you think I should do?

You've answered your own question.

Advice for next time you have conflicting appointments, learn to be organised and arrange for someone to cover your seva before hand and then go and enjoy your other activity stress/guilt free.

A Sikh is nothing if he can't keep his word/promise/adherence to responsibility.

Vaheguru.

Dear fellow God-seekers. I started this topic last week, and actually i wasnt refering to myself, but another person who was considering going to a rainsbhai, and leaving his sewa at our gurdwara. Basically i told him that he knows how much of a strain it can be if even one of us (out of 3) fail to turn up. we have been doing this for almost 2 years now.

anyway i in starting this topic used really selfish motives to excuse myself from performing the sewa, and what reallly surprised me was that it was on picked up only slightly by other members, while i tried to sound as self-centered as poss.

But i wanna thank everyone for their response and advice. I have passed on your comments to the person concerned who has informed me that he will be turning up on Sunday morning.

The sewa that we do are sttm in the darbar , about 2.5 hours, and we run our own stall selling cd's. Making sure literature stand is fully stocked etc

Thank you everybody.
