The concept of 'Jeevan-Mukt' in other religions?

Recommended Posts

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa!

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Maharaj Ji tells us that it is possible to become jeevan-mukt and I personally know a few Gurmukhs who I believe reached this stage. Does this get mentioned in any other religion?

Also, some religions like Islam etc, believe in a single judgement day for everyone (except shaheeds). What do they believe happens to the Atma between time of death and this judgement day which is yet to come?

Sounds similar to purgatory.

'I think' according to mainstream Islam, on judgment day, Muslims and people of the kateb, who did not truely believe in their Prophets, will go to to Jahannam, but will eventually be forgiven.

Non Muslims (and non-Katebi) will be dammed for eternity.
