Baba Deep Singh Ji

Recommended Posts

FAteh all,

I would like to know if there are any contemporary evidence - either Sikh or Mughal/Afghan sources- on whether Baba Deep Singh actually fought with there severed head in their hand and finally threw it the distance from where they fell to the edge of the sarovar? Or is it just simply mithihaas made up in the years after by the sikhs?

Well, if you look at it from the perspective of Missionary/Kala Afghanist point of view, then it is Mithihaas(mythology), because they beleive in the laws and confines of biology and physics and cannot contemplate anything beyond these laws.

But if you beleive that Guru Nanak Dev Jee can stop a bolder at Panja Sahib, rotate the Kabba or even the miracles that Bhaghat Kabir Jee and Bhaghat Namdev Jee mention themselves in their own banis then yes Baba Deep Singh Jee did fight with a severed head.

in fenechs martyrdom of the sikh tradition it is mentioned that this incident of a man fighting without his head was already commonly known among some shaheeds of the 14. century and sikhs brough it into their own history with Baba Deep Singh, sameway as others say the incident of hindues and muslims fighting at the death of Sant Kabir was brought into sikhi with Guru Nanak

This is the danger with miraculuous sakhian, people don't identify and absorb the real miracle - i.e. the nirbho avasthaa of these mahaan shaheeds and the odds they took on with full pyaar and dhyaan in Sat-Guru's charan, instead they simply get fixated on the material miracle.
