Dunali is more used now. Never heard of Dugara.

Same here:

But here it is in Mahan Kosh -

ਦੋ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ. ਬੰਦੂਕ ਦੀ ਨਾਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਸੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਗੁਲਿਕਾ.

Maybe it should be double-loaded gun?

I'm bumping this up: hopefully I'll read through (at least some of) it and refresh myself on a few words.

what is the Panjabi word for "busy"?

So many times I've heard people say "bas, busy busy," when asked how they are.

I was thinking of the word "rujha" but that seems to lean more towards absorbed, "oh apne kam bich rujha si" .

Vyast is busy too

Yea Doaba.. I have noticed difference in our Punjabi and our fam friends and they are from Ludhiana. They say weird words like awdey rather than apney. Like they will say awdey ghar jao

Another Malwai word that trips people is 'ehkun', ਏਕਣ (I don't think that is spelled right?), which means something like  'like this' or 'like that'.

ਏਕਣ ਨਾ ਕਰ - 'Don't do it like that' or 'Don't do that'

ਏਕਣ ਸੀ - 'It was like that'

Awdey is just a short version of Apdey  ਆਪ ਦੇ -> ਆ ਦੇ
Like ਤੁਹਾਡੇ becomes ਥਾੱਡੇ

Do you mean Shaheed Bhagat Singh jee (freedom fighter of India)?

Are you asking about me? I am not even dead though.

never heard this one before, sounds so weird.

I am not sure how true this is, but Malwa boli is said to be rude, whereas Majha is the most sweet.

I don't know what it is exactly, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it may well have been a Majha person who came out with the above.

Now what is it that makes me think this way....

Hmmmm......
