chatanga1 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Share Posted August 5, 2010 ramta was a guest at a wedding that i gatecrashed. i was so surprised to hear his name, as ive been a fan since about 1990. The guy, we assume that he is a comedian first, but he spoke at the gurdwara and talked of Raag Vidya, and i was so surprised at his knowledge, given the lyrics of his songs. He spoke very passionately about the role of Bhai Mardana ie the raag behind the shabd. But becos every1 like me assumed that he was a comedian, rather than a music scholar, evryone kept laughing at the slightest amusing/normal thing he said, so the stage secretary had to ask him to sit down, and finish the talk at the hall. I had a chat with him after, his and family came from Lahore in 1947. Some of his relatives had converted to Islam and stayed in Pakistan. he looks very young considering he is in his 70s. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
