Rs20 Sacha Sauda Investment

Recommended Posts

Guru Nanak started a true business with Rs20. Which he used to start a langar and feed the sadhus. We now see the concept of langar all over the world wherever sikhs are based.

If that original business had Rs20 invested in it all those centuries ago what would be the financial value of it now, ie the Return On Investment??

Any financial/maths wizards here give an estimate?

that depends on the sangat you are expecting, we do seva here in a govt hospital, the langar is distributed in the premises of a hospital, close to a 500-700 people must be partaking langar the expense is around Rs.11,000 INR including tranportation from the Gurdwara sahib where it is being prepared

Ok, so: 11,000 divided by 700 = about Rs15.

If we take that figure and times it by the number of people who partake in langar worldwide - what ever that may be. then we'll get the rough value of the initial Rs20 investment. Then there are other business-based values you can throw in, such as goodwill, stock/equipment value, building value, inflation etc, etc, etc.

Anyone else want to throw some numbers about?

I feel that from a purely business perspective this has got to be one of the most lucrative and long standing businesses ever started!
