Trying to improve 14 day blog

I am starting this blog to improve myself for 14 days. Here are my rules for dos & donts. Wish me luck.

-1)Do not watch youtube, shows, hollywood movies, nudity, porn or songs

-2)Wake up at  2:40 am

3) Do Nitnem, & 12 Malas Moolmantar

Day 1 begins on New Moon day tomorrow ( Masya), & concludes Day 14 Full Moon.

I will keep the sangat updated on my progress.

Day 3  ( Jan 11)

today was a bad day, failure, lustful thoughts through out day, ended up watching bad stuff and masturbated after 7 days of celibacy.

- Nitnem was done, only 2 malas of Moolmantar today

- I dont know if I should still continue till day 14 or give this up.

- having a headache now due to failure

-ps. did 3 malas before sleeping, so in total 5 malas.

Don't you dare give up lol. It's okay one bad day but still you did what you meant too. So don't give up, push yourself up to the 14th day. How about you play something before you go to sleep, like find some 8 hours long video over gurmantar or put on repeat and play it if you can sleep with it. So when you wake up first thing your senses will hear is vaheguroo. Then lustful thoughts won't bother you much. But don't give up. You are still on right track. We all fail :)

Edit: oh you said through out the day. I would say if you free carry a mala or tally counter in your hand . It will remind you that you gotta do mul mantar.  Good luck .

Brother, Daas would humbly request you to keep going. Try to forget the episode of Masturbation, as a bad dream.

Gurparsaad, the tips below might help

  • Before you go to sleep, recite Sri Kirtan Sohela Sahib jee 5 times, instead of one. Do jaap of Rakheya day shabad. This won't take much time
  • Keep playing Gurbani on an audio player, while you are asleep
  • When you wake up, immediately start doing jaap of Mool Mantar. Keep the mala/counter nearby.
  • Engage in physical workout, when sexual thoughts attack
  • Wash your hands, feet and face with cold water, when sexual thoughts attack
  • Start listening to Katha, when sexual thoughts attack
  • Start playing a game or watching a documentary or engage in any other activity, which can assist you in diverting your mind from sexual thoughts

Day 4 ( Jan 12)

- woke up 1:30 am , slept from 4:30 to 9 am.

-5 banis done , 6 malas done, 6 pending

- no bad dreams or thoughts last night or this morning

Thanks Papiman, & Gurpreet , I will keep your tips in mind

- hast-maithun again :(, was weak from yesterday, didn't try to fight much. still gotta do malas...3 pm now

- total malas done: 8

- at night did 5 kirtan sohilas

Day 5 ( Jan 13, 2016)

- woke up really late 8:30 am, I think this was the effect of semen loss in 2 consecutive days, this is how my body responds by being lazy & not getting up Amritvela.

- did basic nitnem, still have to do malas. I am behind 21 malas + 12 malas for today.

- I resolve to discipline my mind by doing 33 malas today. ( 11:00 AM).   Lets see how this goes.

ps, Thanks for mental support all.

- so the resolve did not get completed, only did 12 malas in total

- everything was going in fine till at the last moment, when I got excited thinking about someone, & to relieve myself on the unpleasant feelings I did hast-maithun again.   I thought I would be improving but it is not working so far...

What mala size are you using? 32? 108?

You should watch this if you can understand Punjabi. It's about kundalini by Maskeen ji. Worth listening, if Punjabi and audio is a problem, you can type kundalini surjhee by Maskeen ji and someone on other Sikh forum did the translation in English. It will help you with your problem since you will understand things in more depth. Good luck.

Have you been trying the methods listed by Paapiman?

I HIGHLY recommend you read "Se Kineya" it is the biography of Sant Harnam Singh Ji Rampur Khera it is incredibly inspirational. I am sure it will help you alot!

Keep your mind occupied as much as you can with Katha, Kirtan, And Simran.

When Inhale Breath in Wahe Out Guru. This will help you balance yourself out.
