Just like after the 'peaceful' protests ended in Syria in 2010, the extremists shift to attacking education and media outlets. The media outlets are targetted to spread fear and to reduce the ability for the other side to keep their populace informed. The educational establishments are targetted to disrupt career progression of young people by forcing them to look to other means of making a living - in Syria a lot of former university students have been drafted into the ranks of various ISIS units who conduct special operations. Attacking educational establishments such as cadet academies and universities highlights the states inability to protect it's young.... and in turn safeguard it's future.
