Guest Questioning

Anyone know why using tehl (oil) in hair in recommended? My grandparents always say it to me "tehl paya kar sirh'ch tenu akal augi" lol . Ive always used johnsons baby oil but stopped a few months back because it randomly occured to me thats its not an oil of anything, its just all chemicals. Ive not noticed any difference in not using oil when washing hair.

Is it essential? What are some good natural oils to use?

I tend to mix the oils. Almond, coconut, olive and few drops of tea tree oil.  It's also recommended to mix coconut oil with butter/ghee and olive in your cooking and we tend to this at home.

Almond and coconut are very good for consumption (Sattvic), and we also drink more coconut/almond milk compared to regular.

Just from personal experience. It seems to be much better at preventing excess dryness than coconut oil or mustard oil.

I think it depends on the person. From my experience mustard oil seems to be the best for me, whereas, coconut oil and almond oil don't prevent khushki as much (for me). Although, I do mix up oils now because of the strong odour of mustard oil.
