Yes I am serious, I know about a naamdhari Singh who drinks water from well, which is what a sarbloh bibeki is supposed to drink from!

Drinking water from wells was the only option to people back in the day?  Today drinking water from well is not a good idea considering that well water is highly contaminated?

Maybe, puratan sampradays should find a way to clean water for everyone?

Are you serious bro?

Naamdhariye are also very strict in doing Keshi Ishaan (along with body) daily.

Daas heard in a katha that they are very strict on Sucham Maryada too.

Bhul chuk maaf

You're reading all this from books and articles.   The ground realities is their no different from mainstream Sikhs?

Thanks bro for that info. Even a Bibeki Sikh will probably drink water from a well. But was he Sarabloh Bibeki?

Depends on where the well is. And us all trying to drink out of them is our argument they must be clean. Can the Paanth also dabble in water purification? Surely.

Drink water from the well after filtering it bro. That is common sense. Obviously, the water from the well will be contaminated. Over here in Canada, we filter tap water before drinking it, even though Canada has one of the best water quality in the world,

My friend knew a Naamdhari guy. He would do Keshi Ishaan (along with body) daily and he was very strict on Sucham too.

But which one did Guru Sahib tell to recite and what sources do we have that confirm this?

@ipledgeblue

The Sri Chaupai saab mentioned in Sharda Pooran Granth (written by Gyani Narain Singh jee) stops at "Dusht Dokh Te Leho Bachai". Gyani jee claims that this Granth is from the times of Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh jee.

What method does he use to filter the water and is there a maryada for it?

Depends entirely on the well.

there is something similar written in a book by Bhasauria's son Ran Singh. This is interesting, need more information about sharda pooran granth:

Chaupai Sahib - Broken Bani? | SikhNet

Quote

One of his associates Giani Kartar Singh Kalaswalia was the head Granthi of Sri Harimandir Sahib. It was during his term of seva that the Chaupai and Dohira were removed. Teja Singh's son Ran Singh, wrote Dasam Granth Nirney in 1919, in which he claims that another Bani starts after the 25th pauri - Dustt dokh tay layho bachaaee. This is untrue. This is the first reference to the short Chaupai Sahib. Before this time there has not been discovered any reference of anything but the full Chaupai Sahib.

That site is spurious and the post is very un referenced.

@paapiman

also it says pauri as 25 and and 26 so how can they be from different granths. Didn't bhai Mani Singh put these as one bani when compiling dasam granth. maybe the book by the nirmala sant isn't accurate?
