Drugs, Rape, Prostitution, Land-grab, SGPC, Usurpation of All Gurukar Donations = Badal. Badal= Akali Dal + SGPC = Sikh Votes = Blame the Sikhs as a whole..... This is why no one takes us seriously. At the one hand we have people saying our problems are not to be considered as Sikh vs. Hindu, then we have govt-sponsored people saying it is Sikh vs. Hindu and we have FOOLS who have bought the propaganda and argue that the problems we face are all because of Punjabi Hindus... Then another guy shows up and shows pictures of Hindu Khadkus of the 80s... (in another thread on this website). Until losers like Amar JKP and all of his buffoons stop perpetuating this "Religious conflict narrative", we are never going to get any credibility and achieve any goals. I was also a blind rat once. However, then one day I came across numerous stories about our Sardars fighting each other. The misls fought each other so much that it shattered the narrative I was ingrained with. I personally do not care about the morals of the Marathas. The idea that the Marathas did worse in Punjab because it was a Muslim majority place is pretty stupid. From what I have read, the Marathas lost because of different reasons. The religion of the local populace did not seem to be a factor. Nevertheless, atrocities are atrocities. I am not denying the supposed facts. All I am saying is that the Marathas defeated the Mughals. Our ancestors in Punjab did contribute to this downfall and so did the Rajput rebellion but the credit goes to the Marathas. If the Gadhar Party is a Sikh party and movement because the majority of the party were Sikhs, then the downfall of the Mughals was caused by the Marathas because they did most damage to the Mughals. Whenever we try to boost our history by downplaying the role of others, reason and logic overwhelm our exaggerations and depict us as ignorant and arrogant fools. You have to be brave when reading history. You have to realize that the narratives told to us are prone to be critiqued. Our glory lies in the fact that we fought regardless of our menial numbers and lack of material resources. That is our glory. We fought to the death and we never gave up. We fought honourably and bravely. But to say that only Sikhs defeated the Mughals and should be accredited with the downfall of the empire is absurd. If you are brave then you will look at our history objectively and compare battles. Just because we inflicted heavier losses doesn't mean we defeated the whole empire. The Mughal empire put almost all of its efforts in defeating the Marathas. Also, I am aware that Punjab Police have nothing to do with this forum. But neither did the moral character of Maratha forces. I am not the one saying "Sikhs" this and "Sikhs" that. I stopped thinking that way a long time ago. You should do and you should have when you realized that our Sardars were killing each other. When you look at the actions of our Misls then you will realize that our Sardars used religion to rally troops and made those troops fight and die for the personal interests of the Misl Sardar families. Not all were like that but our empire came out of this phenomenon. I dont think we can compare ourselves with Marathas because of the simple fact that they used their resources to fight Afghans AND Mughals and inflicted heavy losses on BOTH. Listen pseudo scholar tony. Sikhism is a religion... don't compare ethnic tribal groups with religious groups. Punjab, Bengal and much of North India are Sanskrit-oriented people. Tamil is the father language of most Southern languages. The only places you can say are not a part of India are the eastern states like Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura etc. The other states come out of Tamil and Sanskrit and they are "Indian". All I want to say here is that Pakistan is not a "country". Pakistan is the name of a Islamic republican government that governs regions annexed from four countries: Afghanistan (FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Balochistan, India (Kashmir, Sindh, Punjab), and Gilgit Balistan. However, once the mutiny started many Dal Khalsa troops of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and many Sardars and Jagirdars of the old empire joined the movement. The Indian media portrayed the 1857 rebellion as one that did not include Sikhs because of the fact that major Sikh kings supported the British. I dont know about you people but I would support the rebellion and I do. You cant blame the purbiya for attacking Punjab because I have seen editorials of newspapers that have shown our own Sikhs looting the revolutionaries' bodies. Once you think black and white you are bound to err in judgement. This idea that Punjab didnt support the cause is utter nonsense. Dal Khalsa troops rose like kamals in swamps to fight the British in 1857. Its because of Patiala and company that the media says Sikhs didnt get involved. I was at a Gadhar Party Conference organized by York Centre for Asian Research at York University in Toronto and everyone there was well aware of this fact and how the media distorted reality and painted Sikhs as traitors/apathetic spectators. During the conference we also watched a documentary that outlined the involvement of the Dal Khalsa troops. Do you think our Soormay would just stand by and let this opportunity slip by? No, they fought. 1857 was actually a good opportunity to take the British out. It failed because of the support royals offered the British.

I would say that the Gadari Movement was not religion-based. However, the overwhelming majority of the members were Sikh. In addition, the Sikhs of the Gadari-era were not the Sikhs of today. They did not believe in a black-white definition of Sikhi as the neo-tat khalsas of today do.

The translation on Manglacharan website says Guru Sahib praised Devi. I have read another thread between someone named navjot and many other users about this. It is a controversial matter and I am sure that many people here dont want to restart the conversation. However, I think that the thread I mentioned, failed to give me an objective and final answer to this dilemma. Do people believe the Uggardanti and Bansavalinama to be valid in terms of its claims and content?

Sorry brother I just read your post. It got lost under the heap of comments by mr singh and sher I think. I am against Khalistan but for Khalsa Raj. Lately I am into the AAP. Nevertheless, I understand that converting millions is going to be hard to do. I also understand that Punjab is important to us. But it is also important to other Punjabis. Asking for Khalistan is only goin to create problems for us because of the hostility it creates with Hindus. I dont hav any problems with Hindus or anyone for that matter. I judge people based on character. We can have a good government within this pseudo democratic context. If we elect proper people and take control of our education system etc.. However our problem is disunity of the panth as you mentioned. But people like Col GS Sandhu should be up for elections and our sangat should elect them into power. There can be ad will be another means to getting our voice out there. I pray AAP wins in India and Punjab.
