Bro, Daas asked you if there is any reference to alcohol too, especially in that episode which talks about the rift between Bandai and Tat Khalsa?
    Thanks

@dalsingh101 - Hope you read the above.
Is there a reference to Alcohol in Sri Pracheen Panth Prakash too?
Daas remembers that there is an episode involving a wrestling bout between Tat Khalsa and Bandai Khalsa, which involves meat.

Below the Great Poet [Mahakavi] Santokh Singh describes the instance where Banda Bahadur declared his Guruship and how the Khalsa replied to this request
Banda said - "Give me the status of Guru - all of the Khalsa should do my Darshan." When he said this to the entire congregation of Singhs tested him and said, "We will not accept this"
The Khalsa said, "You have made a separate group from the Guru and we will not mold into this - You have not even taken Khande Ka Pahul nor have you adopted fully the conduct befitting a Singh
If you wish this type of praise - then partake in this meat and alcohol we place before you and wear the blue clothes [of the Khalsa], then we can speak about the unity between us.
When the Khalsa replied in this manner, Banda thought - "My Dharam is to be vegetarian - I cannot partake in these three things." Having thought this Banda had great jealousy for all the Singhs [of their status]

Around the city of Kare, near Allahabad, a devotee named Maluk Das was eagerly waiting to meet Guru Tegh Bahadur, but suddenly changed his mind when he heard that the Guru had just come back from hunting with his Sikhs.
He thought, "I am a Vaishnavite [and vegetarian], but I've heard Satguru Tegh Bahadur is a meat eater.
Well now I don't think it is appropriate for me to go and meet them, I should just sit here in my house and meditate on Hari - Guru Tegh Bahadur is important, and I'm worthless, we are not equal.
In the world there are powerful and weak people, some people receive a lot of wealth and some are poor, why should I think more about this? I'll just sit at home and meditate on Prabhu."
Maluk Das thought about this and left any desire to meet Guru Tegh Bahadur, he just sat in his house meditating. Guru Tegh Bahadur realized this and thought "the mind of Maluk Das, the devotee of Hari, is deluded and confused.
The Saints do not contemplate on the [lower level thinking] of what is forbidden [or what is appropriate]. He saw my exterior practice and lost his faith, he was not a lover of the inner state of mind".

Daas remembers hearing in Katha that Gyani Thakur Singh jee mentioned that our kids are having mental related illnesses due to lack of drinking "Shardai". Shardai is the same as Sukhnidhaan, without Sukha in it.
Furthermore, it is possible that micro-dosing cannabis (by putting tiny quantities of it in Shardai) might be beneficial in the brain development of the kids.

I was replying in context of micro-dosing for babies. It’s risky. I am in favor of using it as a medicine in worst case scenario when nothing else works but not in favor of using it regularly without any indication or for just getting that psychoactive high.Definitely cbd oil, thc has medicinal properties, no doubt. Personally, I wouldn’t use it for chronic pain, Maharaj Kirpa.
Interesting link that you provided, and info on biphasic reactions , how it can cause anxiety and paranoia if mismanaged, and dose requirement varies for everyone.
Its good to have this knowledge. But personally for me , I have more important matters to take care of than worrying about sukha use, such as Am I spiritually ready to leave my body, time is running out. There are other priorities.

Absolutely bro. In my world the dancing would be overseen and of a certain type so as to disuade predators and kaam.
Like King Louis Court at Versaille on one hand and a pow wow prayer dance on the other.
I'm really conscious about how I act even now and should act in Saroop, once I am  blessed with Amrit, and grinding at the club is definitely off the list.
That's already off the list for a variety of reasons, Kesh included.

I thought that when I posted. A time and place and way for evrything in Roop lol.
What I mean is the sin based puritan mindset of no to everything because it's not in the bible or some random quote about it is in the bible. The no fun, no feel good, do this or go straight to hell mentality.
I knew I was walking into that bhangra and clubbing thing and I agree with you guys actually, it's tacky to do in Roop. Sikhs should dance respectfully in Sangat or at home or gatherings. Tastefully.
Should dance like they are in Maharaja's court.
Or like warriors around the fire armed.

Bhai ji, I grew up having to read insidious agenda translations of Sikh texts by people like McLeod for years, because back then I couldn't read Gurmukhi, plus original texts weren't anywhere near as available as today with the Internet and various sites that give us free ebooks of these texts today. Sometimes even if I could find the text that I was after, I couldn't afford to purchase it.
Due to these experiences, to this day I resent the way apnay don't make effort to inform new generations about puratan texts/manuscripts. Plus I was also a young boy when I learnt that the Sikh reference library got burnt down in 84. So I feel that we [the panth] between ourselves should be looking at and analysing our own texts, so we can give younger generations a heads up and not have them rely on devious agenda interpretations by outsiders, like I had to. But with Guru ji's kirpaa I can see through the agendas of the academics, even though hordes of motay dimaag walay apnay get trapped by them.
Personally, I would rather a text come out, than hide it, every time.
Plus bhai ji you could be more tactful too. We should studying the texts critically. None of them are Gurbani. But to me they are all fascinating in various ways, even ones that shock me. I think it's better we let it out and let people deal with it. It's the opposite attitude that had many Sikhs alienated from Dasam Bani like CP for a LONG TIME.
I'm pretty sure, in the past, there were people who were pro-sukha, as well as anti, just like now, and probably forever.

Some of us in the UK don't think this is a bad idea. lol
We're sick to death of the misguided correlation between 'Sikhs' and overly exuberant bhangra paaing peasants (usually with loads of alcohol floating around)!
I'm not saying banning dancing but just giving that barn-dance jamboree mentality a break when we've got serious stuff going on. It makes us look like clowns.

I agree with what @SunnySingh said about the development. I've also encountered in respected Katha and personal experience that is also exists in the sarir and suchumsarir.
Can one simply open it? No. There enters the development stemming from Prem and Bhagti of Naam.

Dasam dwaar - nij pad, thhir ghar is no physical gate in human body.... It's a stage in our spiritual journey wen we learn to sit in pure being. as it's very well said by sunnysingh veerji
6 ghar 6 gur 6 updes Gur gur eko ves anek. Baba jai Ghar karte keerat hoye so ghar raakh vadai toye. So, wen asked from Guru Nanak Dev ji- he answered that one should keep his awareness on tenth gate of his body, where there is always a bliss or the praise of Lord going on... (Anhad shabad) - over and above the land of thoughts. - that is thhir Ghar or tenth gate.... Just like there's one sun still many seasons similarly there's One God yet many paths ( karte k kete ves)
The paths may be different however the destination is the ultimate truth- the One and only. For sikhs the path is sehaj - naam japna with loads of love for the Guru sahib- to the extent that the Lord is pleased- just like a husband is pleased with his loving n caring wife-..

Bro, you are saying that even micro-dosing is bad, especially for non-Amritdhari Sikhs?
    Quote
One recent clinical trial found that microdosing just 1 mg of THC, and even 0.5 mg, was effective at relieving chronic pain.
