  1. admin can you please sort this out..its getting ridiculous, another post getting side tracked. Personally was looking forward to the updates of the experiment.. you really need to nip it in the bud...
  2. After a workout i would recommend a cold shower it helps with muscle recovery and soreness. But it does depend on the individual as some say cold showers not cold enough to give you benefits of an ice bath.. I would say just experiment, that is what i did and be aware of the difference if any between cold and hot showers. Only so much reading we can do..trial and error veereh. :) Generally speaking from my experience cold showers has helped me in many ways. I used to take cold showers everyday and the immediate difference i felt in myself was more awareness, higher concentration, more vibrant mood, better posture, brighter/glow in face and overall 'feel good factor' . Another thing it helped me out with was my hay fever, i no longer need to take tablets or nasal spray in summer. when i went back to warm/hot showers i felt the opposite. Not dramatically but very much noticeable. Also a big difference is that with warm/hot showers the natural oils in hair are washed away leaving it dry where as with cold showers the hair stays moist. I now have warm showers everyday but have cold showers in the evening every other day, reason i stopped cold showers is because it is really difficult getting out of bed in winter and turning that cold tap on..lol. i would highly recommend cold showers, just be sensible in terms of your environment and more importantly your health (if you have any health issues consult doctor before taking cold showers). If you decide to take it everyday i would advise to gradually introduce your body to it, ie start warm slowly finish cold. But in summer i stick to cold showers..This is just my opinion on cold showers from my experience. Keep us updated if you decide to go ahead with cold showers...you may want to wait for weather to get warmer depending on where you are from.. Im from uk so winter is not that bad plus when i take cold showers i will not leave the house within the next hour of taking it but places like us and canada can be very cold this time of the year.. Good luck!!
  3. very well put veereh... hukam is 'happening' now...
  4. For me personally, hukam means the universal laws..hukam rajai chalna .. karam..is apeh beej apeh kayo.... so basically you have free will, do conduct your act but your act comes with a consequence...that you cannot evade..hukam. (4 different types of karams).... just my 2 pennies....
  5. Nishchal Dasji vicar sagar( Metaphysics of the Upanishads) .. translated in english by lala sreeram.. got it... :) https://archive.org/details/themetaphysicsof00sreeuoft i am pretty sure this was the one i was looking for.. will start reading it soon, slowly...
  6. I was trying to get this books for years, was unable to find download on the internet as sites just kept redirecting me.I also tried to get a friend to get it from the book shop in amritsar (chatart singh).. no luck.. so somewhat forgot about it. If you veer ji or anybody has this book in pdf or scribd id be more than greatfull if you could upload it up on to this site.. Its a text highly regarded by sadhu sants and as you mentioned veereh very important text that is to be studied in sampradas..
  7. I was thinking the same thing...gets me worked up that behavior yeh that guy flashes his sword walks forward then back again..what a yodha..... yeh i have quiet a few in panjabi too...lol but as in uk ill keep to at .. 'what a p**ck'..
  8. Sant mahapurshs humility is so natural and simple it leaves you awestruck. There was an incident that happened in wolverhampton with sant baba isher singh ji..Baba ji was going to attend a divan at nanksar gurdwara and one individual took it upon himself to print posters saying to not attend the divan as sant baba isher singh is a pakand etc.. While a sevak was driving Baba ji they saw the individual pasting the posters on the wall.. Baba ji asked the sevak to stop driving, baba ji came out went to the individual and said 'please let me help you' the individual was shocked and said these posters are about you.. Baba ji smiles and replies 'meleh kapre ninda toye'... I cannot validate the authenticity of this story as i heard it in a discussion amongst sangat but two things we can learn from this is the humility of elevated souls and that even if one slanders you, let them as they are wiping off your sins.:)
  9. This is shameful and getting embarrassing. Gurdwaras are meant to be a dharamshala where seekers go to learn, practice and serve. This politics game is getting beyond a joke and its embarrassing that we as a community have to call the police every time there is an argument that these people cannot discuss as mature adults. Correct me if im wrong, along with patience and humility Guru Gobind Singh ji also encouraged his sikhs to learn and practice debate skills. sorry to say i did chuckle at first when the first bibi got floored but after that it was just silly.. also funny thing is that when i watched it i was not surprised or shocked as it seems to be a common trend to kick off in gurdwareh in us and canada..
  10. I get what your saying Bhagat veer. thought i lighten it but definitely vibe changed..
  11. Guys, we as men have to accept we will also be the butt of jokes...even though it dents our masculine image...lol
  12. Husband and wife have a discussion in the kitchen wife..i want more freedom husband..ok, i will build you an extension....lol
  13. Yes you can .. you can complete at your own pace..even if you cannot finish in one day spread it over a few days.
  14. Think this is going to turn out to be a dasam bani in kirtan thread..loving it..:)
  15. wow. Loving that.. Defo Bhai balbir singh has some amazing stuff out there,
  16. My 2 cents or 2 pennies... My comment is not really about this topic but just wanted to say that i have noticed over the last 6 months or so (maybe before) that this forum is going down the same avenue as sikh sangat. Meaning all they ever do is argue and the pattern is very similar to what has happened on this topic..on SS a topic gets side tracked and then there is a battle between 2 groups consisting of 3-4 members on each side and admin only ban the topic once their ideology is put into serious doubt (challenged), its not a debate/discussion but an argument. Im not saying this is the exact case here but just a pattern occurring on some posts here, having said that the intelligence, patience and open mindedness on this forum is miles ahead of any other sikh forum..
  17. I dont mean to shit you up or anything, but this does seem like a typical case of jaadu tuna (black magic). Trust me you are still at a age where you can change but you need to be strong. as in most situations as yourself things can get worse for a while when you start to recite gurbani meditate etc.. I have also been in a similar situation but i was ignorant to the dark forces and invited light energy after a whole lot of damage was done.. If you possibly can let sukhmani sahib path continuosly play in your room (also recite if you can). im not well equipped in gurbani but dukh daroo sukh rog paya ja sukh taam ha hoyi springs to mind....its only worldly pain that gives us ultimate sukh/bliss as this is when we devout and surrender to an energy that has no initial logical meaning..hence you dive into spirituality which is when you start to live less in the mind.. also remember no matter how hard it is there will be a time when you look back at this dark times an take it as a blessing..probably the last thing you want to hear, people used to say it to me all the time..but time is healing.. bhagat fareed says he though his house was on fire but when he stood on the hill he saw all houses on fire...theres deeper spiritual meanings but lets just take the basic physical material world as a meaning of 'we think we got problems but every household has'...trust me theres people in a lot worse situation..be blessed that you in these dark times can recite gurbani and listen to katha... always look at the guru in everyhing meaning that which brings you out of darkness into light... maybe the so called friends you could have made would have led you into darker habits who knows.. ask your satiguru to bring quality of friends who are god minded... your jigsaw pieces seem to be scattered at the moment with satigurus kirpa they will be put in place for you to start seeing a clear pic..
  18. hhmm paaji...if you want to progress in nanak naam....its not really about language skills...its about connecting to that naam that is not judgemental.... i just hope people feel bliss of naam..
  19. satkiran.. if you want i will teach you panjabi...pm me we can exchange number an if you have wotsapp it would b great..i signed on this forum a few months ago but did not post...however ive been following this forum for years..really enjoyed and miss the nirmala tsingh... its no coincidence your version of gender equality has taken aback many members on this forum..but listen, not that they need me to speak for them, but stop puttin it on likes of chataga... the counter argument could be, well learn panjabi to have a better understanding of history, to an extent bani...not to belittle chataga...
