Still nascent reacted to kidsama in Question about doing Jap of "Thir Ghar Baiso.." Shabad.
wow thank you for noting the time down. I love Giani Thakur Singh, he's so direct and funny, and very practical. I heard that katha just 2 days ago. I will watch the other ones.
I first heard heard this shabad when I was little in India. We had a sant at our house, I don't remember who, but I think after that we started doing this shabad every now and then. I feel off sikhi slowly and gradually after I moved to america, I was 10 then. I cut my hair at around 14 age. Now I am 20, about to be 21. Over the past couple years with god's grace I had kirpa, and I feel like the path I did when I was little "came through" lol, and got me through some tough time and very organically pulled me back towards my guru. I feel blessed. Keeping my kesh now obviously and just reading more and more bani and doing this jap.

It's the bhaao ( read Love n respect) that matters.its good that u respect the bani and read it with as much proper maryaada as you can.... but if u refer to the story.. It's NOT fair..
If even after doing so many paath if a person is not getting what he wishes.. Then
1 He has to trust that he's better in jail. Life would have been worse outside. Waheguruji knows better ....
    2. He has to do it with utmost love n keep faith that Guru is 'Baikasaa da yaar" He would surely listen
As for u.. Haven't u felt any positivity yet doing Japna?
If yes.. U have your answer. Maintain love in ur japna. Correct whatever you can but don't think that all you have done till yet is a waste
Haven't u heard the saakhi of Guru HarRai Sahib ji where an old lady was singing - Tu Paapi hum Bakshanhaar"  and he was loving it.... Similarly Sri Krishna was happy eating banana peels instead of the fruit at Bidar's house

Still nascent reacted to tva prasad in Religion means the path of efforts to please the God
Religion, eh? It can present as a controversial subject, especially considering the role science plays in today's world.
Religion is a way to reach God. It disciplines us, connecting us with our true nature, thus God. Ultimately, since God is present in all, every religion worships the creator. Even Hindus who worship Shivji, Devi or Vishnu, Muslims who worship Allah and Christians who worship God. Rather astounding? Maybe. However, there is a simple truth to it. As Krishna said in the Bhagvat Gita, "whoever worships the demi gods worships me but in an improper way". Even so, through the worship of Shiva, Vishnu, Krishna, Ram, etc. our worship goes to Vaheguru but that way is improper as one does not connect with the formless Lord. The full realisation of one self or enlightenment is not accomplished. One is still bound to heavens however high they may be.
All religions are separate paths to the same truth, however followers get deluded by rituals, etc. The materialistic aspect of religion wins many over. Many think themselves noble as they commit many atrocities in the name of religion, I don't believe I have to expand on this.
Some claim their religion is superior and that of other's inferior. Some claim Jesus is the way, others say the same about Mohammed or Krishna. Some deny the existence of God and think the believers are deluded. Even this is illusion (maya/ ignorance), not anything else. In each religion, people are urged to worship the supreme being, the formless lord, however, many get caught up in debunking the beliefs of others. What can we preach others if we have not realised the mystery of the formless, whom every religion speaks of?
"Raam raam karta sabh jag firey, raam na paiya jaae", why? It is because we cannot overcome our pride and devote ourselves selflessly to Vaheguru/ Allah/ God/ Brahman/ etc. The thing is, in Sikhism the path is straight forward. Guru Nanak, the lord himself, took pity on us wretches and gave us the unadulterated truth. The shabad is the guide, naam the way. However, that does not mean God cannot be reached by following a different religion, he very well can.

    Sat Sri Akaal All
You must be wondering why I created another topic when we already have a similar very successful topic here with similar heading. Haina? I agree. But let me narrate my experience and this is gonna be a long one. May take days. Please bear with me.
I have gained alot from this site and this may be my small pay back. Thanks a tonn @Sat1176. I can't thank you enough for documenting your experience here. M trying to follow you.
Ok, about two years ago I started feeling this sweet taste in my mouth. as I searched for its causes on internet, I rather got upset. All it talks about is diseases and I knew I was not unwell. Rather I felt more positive, more happy and may be more active those days.
But after reading all those negative things for caution sake i went for a Blood sugar level check up.. Ok my blood sugar was much lower .. then?? I was naturally worried.. Instead of being thankful.
I started to get annoyed as that taste appeared and I almost lost it... I got more concious of it, I noticed, there was one very strong relationship between the taste and meditation. As I sat for my paath Or thought about my Guru Sahib or spoke about him, heard his kirtan etc that sensation returned and there was nothing unpleasant about it.
Yes, it was rather a nectar. Amrit, Fruit of my meditation. And sat veere has confirmed my feelings
Sweet Nectar Taste in Mouth From Simran
Am thankful that I found out that I am not alone to get this feeling.
Guru Granth Sahib also talks about it as “ Gunge ki Mithiyaayi. “ The sweet for the mute person as he can't express his taste you see..

It was tough.. No one believed as I told them that my saliva tastes sweet… yeah that was stupid and it was better for me to be quiet about it..
    Contd...

There is no polite way to say this but you guys are stupid.
"Oh, I read the first few lines and it says murlee manohar, krishan, hari. Oh yeah, gurbani is praising krishan as the almighty. Let's head to the nearest iscon temple, yeah!"
BTW, I am not denying that Krishan is worthy of our respect.
Let me explain myself. Had you guys read the shabad properly, it is not hard to understand that this is not in the praise of the satoguni Vishnu, rather the one beyond satogun, brahman/ vaheguru himself. It says, "you are ram chand the one without any form". That is talking about the formless lord within ram chandar. "you are krishna and the gopis", this indicates that the whole creation is brahman/ vaheguru/ parbraham/ allah/etc. The formless one is in all. The shabad further mentions how god has "many limbs". This is definitely not about Vishnu, rather the form of vaheguru which is expansive, endless and infinite. This shabad is to highlight and praise the non-dual nature of vaheguru, yet his many forms are conveyed, which are the very essence of the creation. There is none other than he, even that is the idea that is so poetically conveyed in this shabad. Interesting, is it not? He is the formless one yet he has infinite forms. These forms, however are a play. They are in fact, the same form. This is understood when the ego loosens its grip on us. One truly realises that nothing is separate from the source, vaheguru and that everything is within him even as he resides in all.
Therefore, Vishnu is not praised as he is subject to death. He is bound by maya due to being satoguni. Prior to him, many Vishnus have served the creation and many will do so after the present Vishnu. So many Krishnas and Ramas have walked the earth. So many yet to come. There is no end to the lord's creation. For he is the creator and the one that manifests as the created. "Brahm mahesar bisan sachipat ant phase jam phaas parenge". Brahm= brahma, mahesar=shiva, bisan= Vishnu, Sachipat= husband of sachi (Indra). Hence, Brahama, shiva, Vishnu and Indra are subject to the noose of the god of death. How, then can they save us from our mortal woes?
It is a matter of fact that, the shabad is praising the infinite forms of vaheguru which he manifests in, to take part in his creation. Hence, the formless lord is being praised, for he alone is the one that governs the hearts of all  he alone is all there is. He is maya, brahma, Vishnu, shiva, indra, etc. He is detached yet part of his creation. The creation is in him and he is in the creation. Every atom of the universe is occupied by him, he is within the hearts of all, man and beast. I do not see how this shabad can be interpreted in a way as you have done as that is not even what is implied. And it is crystal clear.

    karmjeet Ji

I had that Furna (love that word) for ages so I will share my understanding,

Reading the shabad Har har Jan doe ek hai bib bichar kach nai, Jal te up tarang Jio Jal hi Bikeh Samai,

In a way kinda put it all into prespective, because I not only had a problem getting around the should we respect avtaars or not, I also had problems understanding is Guru God or not.

I so far by the grace of Satguru have come to a theory which I am currently content with, that the avtaars vishnus shivs etc, are all respected in a duniavee way according to duniavee gian, and may all be enlightened so for that reason they should be respected, however they are not God in God intirity if you get what I mean. They are waves on the ocean but not the whole ocean, They may raise to towering heights and contain emence power but it is only while the ocean allows it, when the ocean desires they disappear back into the ocean and the sea is calm.

The avataars are Sargun Vaheguru, and we respect that however we follow akaal purakh meaning both the sargun and nirgun, and beyond gun ..
