  1. Being a Sikh isn't a Jaat or caste. You become a Sikh because you bow down to your Guru. And there Sikhs out there who are "Proud to be a Sikh", thinking that being a Sikh is a Jaat, with that in mind having false pride for your Jaat is not good. I feel they live off there ancestors Glory, "living off the fat of the land" but I feel they dont amount to their ancestors Glory. I'm not saying don't be proud just dont have false pride. You cant be a Sikh if you dont have a Guru. If being Sikh is a jaat thing, then your jaat is your Guru.
  2. Bahadur I support you, I know you found peace with yourself. If your Muslim or Sikh doesn't make no difference to me.

  6. For starters Guru Ji is talking about the ruler of the time, the corruption, people were getting killed just because they didnt accept Islam, but to them it was called righteous, "You kill living beings, and call it a righteous action. Tell me, brother, what would you call an unrighteous action?". If you think its wrong to eat meat why don't you tell the tiger to stop eating meat? And why you think it isn't Gods Will when a human eats meat but when a Tiger eats meat its his Will? Did you know even Vegetarians eat flesh? Ever heard of the Punjabi word "Chiller" meaning skin or Flesh? Every living creature practices some sort of Dharma and duties, this is how creatures transmigrate. And im noticing that "Modern Sikhs" on the Sikhsangat forum don't believe in reincarnate or even Hell or Heaven. You havent putted up the whole shabad, what was writtern before this shabad? This Shabad is by Guru Amar Daas Ji in Raag Bihaagraa on Pannaa 554 salok ma 3 || Salok, Third Mehla: maanas bhariaa aaniaa maanas bhariaa aae || One person brings a full bottle, and another fills his cup. jith peethai math dhoor hoe baral pavai vich aae || Drinking the wine, his intelligence departs, and madness enters his mind; aapanaa paraaeiaa n pashhaanee khasamahu dhhakae khaae || he cannot distinguish between his own and others, and he is struck down by his Lord and Master. jith peethai khasam visarai dharageh milai sajaae || Drinking it, he forgets his Lord and Master, and he is punished in the Court of the Lord. jhoot(h)aa madh mool n peechee jae kaa paar vasaae || Do not drink the false wine at all, if it is in your power. naanak nadharee sach madh paaeeai sathigur milai jis aae || O Nanak, the True Guru comes and meets the mortal; by His Grace, one obtains the True Wine. sadhaa saahib kai ra(n)g rehai mehalee paavai thhaao ||1|| He shall dwell forever in the Love of the Lord Master, and obtain a seat in the Mansion of His Presence. ||1|| ====================================================================================== You have to ask yourself what is the false wine. Its not actually speaking of wine as such but talking about the false wine as a metaphor but this is a reflection what is this false wine that Guru Ji is talking about? Is this wine falsehood? You can even say drinking the false wine is drinking maya, the false intoxication of maya makes you forget the lord and master. But in other shabads it says the true wine is naam itself. If there is a wine which reminds of God, drink that wine.
  7. Heaven and Hell exists even for Sikhs too. Heaven is where Satguru is, to be with him is heavenly. Hell is somewhere where your in a place of darkness.

  10. I believe this totally. There is every reason to understand. This Shabad is by Guru Amar Daas Ji in Siree Raag on Pannaa 36 sreeraag mehalaa 3 || Siree Raag, Third Mehla: bin gur rog n thuttee houmai peerr n jaae || Without the Guru, the disease is not cured, and the pain of egotism is not removed. gur parasaadhee man vasai naamae rehai samaae || By Guru's Grace, He dwells in the mind, and one remains immersed in His Name. gur sabadhee har paaeeai bin sabadhai bharam bhulaae ||1|| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord is found; without the Shabad, people wander, deceived by doubt. ||1|| man rae nij ghar vaasaa hoe || O mind, dwell in the balanced state of your own inner being. raam naam saalaahi thoo fir aavan jaan n hoe ||1|| rehaao || Praise the Lord's Name, and you shall no longer come and go in reincarnation. ||1||Pause|| har eiko dhaathaa varathadhaa dhoojaa avar n koe || The One Lord alone is the Giver, pervading everywhere. There is no other at all. sabadh saalaahee man vasai sehajae hee sukh hoe || Praise the Word of the Shabad, and He shall come to dwell in your mind; you shall be blessed with intuitive peace and poise. sabh nadharee a(n)dhar vaekhadhaa jai bhaavai thai dhaee ||2|| Everything is within the Lord's Glance of Grace. As He wishes, He gives. ||2|| houmai sabhaa ganath hai ganathai no sukh naahi || In egotism, all must account for their actions. In this accounting, there is no peace. bikh kee kaar kamaavanee bikh hee maahi samaahi || Acting in evil and corruption, people are immersed in corruption. bin naavai t(h)our n paaeinee jamapur dhookh sehaahi ||3|| Without the Name, they find no place of rest. In the City of Death, they suffer in agony. ||3|| jeeo pi(n)dd sabh this dhaa thisai dhaa aadhhaar || Body and soul all belong to Him; He is the Support of all. gur parasaadhee bujheeai thaa paaeae mokh dhuaar || By Guru's Grace, understanding comes, and then the Door of Liberation is found. naanak naam salaahi thoo(n) a(n)th n paaraavaar ||4||24||57|| O Nanak, sing the Praises of the Naam, the Name of the Lord; He has no end or limitation. ||4||24||57||
  11. I'm not trying to discredit Sikhi, since i'm a Sikh myself. I'm just trying to understand Charan di pahul, i'm sick of Black and White Sikhi. Modern Sikhi ideas are to not to speak of it and don't question it and follow blindly what your teacher says without understanding it. You wont find truth without understanding first, then you can fully understand the true meaning. How many of you passed your exams without asking questions?
  12. Is there a specific code to be followed? Because I know its different to Khande Da Pahul?

  19. Guru Nanak preached that Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva were the same or Waheguru. Waheguru is the creator, preserver and destroyer. Are you saying that Waheguru is not creator (Brahma), preserver (Vishnu) and destroyer (Shiva)?
  20. I knew what Javanmard was trying to say. God has many forms but has no form. Some call God Ram some call God Kodha. The fact that Guru Nanak taken Amrit from Waheguru, made Guru Nanak Waheguru himself, Guru Nanaks light is indifferent, Guru Nanak is the divine Guru himself.
  21. So what your saying now is that Guru Ji spoke a different language to the people and everyone in Punjab had to learn this new language in order to understand Sikhi? Yes Guru Ji introduced new Punjabi letters. But Adh Guru Granth Sahib is composed from 16 different languages, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Hindi, Fasri, Arabic being the most used. Guru Ji spoke the language of the people.
