  1. yea, but there is technique to everything. When the shaheedi Singhs come close you feel the Shant. Nothing bad can come close to you. I dont think thats the only reason either, fire is pure energy which could have something to do with it, and there is something about using desi kyoo for the jot too, just as you should use it in food you eat.
  2. fair enough, but the people you talk about arent real sants/mahapursh.
  3. ...i guess waitin for it to be published is a good start. after that amazon will likely have it, if not then foyles will definitely be able to get it for you.
  4. Im saying that as a true gurmukh Sikh you wouldnt eat meat because the Gurus said not to and your love for them means yo would do anything for them. That said, my post also implies that people who do eat meat in other maryadas may be ok because it can be worked off. I think paap can be worked off - 'Suniai dookh paap ka naas'. I also say that meat sets you back when you eat it, and given the fact about how hard it is to get anywhere spiritually its a serious handicap in spiritual advancement, especially if you're unfortunate enough to fall prey to marey shaktia. I see you r point, but if thats how someone prays then it wont help coz you need to pray with prem and belief, if you pray thinking of meat you gonna eat then nothing will get wiped off your slate, but if you keep eating meat and praying properly, as your anbhav grows stronger you'll stop eating meat naturally. Just like some Sikhs I know who started joining the Sangat when they were mona, no one ever told them to stop cutting their, not even Mahapursh that he visited. Eventually he made his own decision to stop cutting it. My point is that the Gurus have recognised that changing habits is a process and have given us a way out of destructive habits, given work. Its not a deal - its redemption, and if you keep doing it I guess it gets harder and harder to work off. If you have true love then eventually you will stop, if you dont have true love then you were never a Sikh....
  5. he did, but he also said to say it up to Nanak hosi bhi sach a few seconds later. I havent heard it for ages, maybe they also said why. i have the tape somewhere, i can try to record the segment if you like. Amrit - I never meant that sayin Gurbani will hurt you, all I meant was that there must be a reason, and that you cant really attack someone as being a false Sant for recommending that you say a lil more Gurbani. Given that Puran Sants are here in Maharaji's service they must have their reasons, if I meet one I'll ask. But I do know that reciting powerful manters can spark retaliation from dark shaktia, many Mahapursh are almost routinely attacked by these shaktia. Maybe extending it to 'Nanak hosi bhi sach' gives an extra element of protection not to mention that it dispells the common argument that 'we gotta change with the times, thats why i cut my hair' etc. anyway lets get back on topic - great picture aint it...
  6. there you go another example of doing as we were told to do, rather doing as the Gurus did, as it isnt in our capacity to emulate them without 'drowning in the world ocean'
  7. we arent supposed to a void meat because it 'destroys' families. In Gurbani it says that we shouldnt eat meat because: There are 5 elements (not chemical elements) that build everything. Meat is compsed of all 5, everything you eat puts weight on your soul, vegetables are a pretty simple life form, and doesnt put much weight, what it does can be worked off by a little simran. Meat on the other can need 5 Jap Ji Sahibs to work off (I have heard this from both GNNSJ and Rara Sahib Maha Pursh), not to mention the capitalisation of the suffering and pain the animal had to go through to get to your plate, and that they attract cheeja. Basically you shouldnt eat meat not only because its cruel but because it hinders your spiritual progress. Many people use Guru Gobind Singh SAhib Ji as an excuse to eat meat, but who was he and who aer you? He could see the soul in the animals he killedand probably helped them along, and in that sense it was an honour to be killed by him, after all he was Nirankar saroop. And in another sense, look at the sacrifices he made, his whole family was sacrificed for Sikhi, what does it say about you if you cant sacrifice someting as simple as eating meat? If the time comes for your family to be sacrificed, or choose another religion what would you choose? Another point is that the Gurus came to show us the way to God, told us what we needed to do to get there, they are already there and dont need to make the same sacrifices as us since they cannot be stained by paap. If we are to follow the Gurus' path we have to do as we were told to do, not do as the Gurus did as it is not in our power, this kind of thought just turns into manmukhi.
  8. supetrfluous details what harm does it do to say it till Nanak hosi bhi sach.
  9. should be alright if you look at em with 3d goggles.
  10. so how do you explain the fact that Sants and Mahapursh say you should light a jot.
  11. ...at the same time you gotta acknowledge that you can be fashionable as well as a good person on the inside...eventually, the better someon becomes, if they really try, they'll blend into the Khalsa out of free will. forcing someone who doesnt respect Guruji to wear a turban etc, is meaningless, similar to being a n@ng. .basically if someone doesnt want to know you because you're trying to be a real Sikh then they're not worth knowing.
  12. you give money coz you shouldnt go to Guru Sahib empty handed, if you dont wanna give money do a few Mala and give those. We have pictures coz we're proud of our Gurus and love them, looking at saroops of Guru can help make a personal bond, Mahaprsh once said that if you cant concentrate sit in front of Maharaji's saroop, and say your paat like you're talking to Maharaji in the saroop. We dont worship the picture, we worship what they represent. Just like a child who draws a picture of her family, when he/she takes the drawinghome her parents wont say, that doesnt look like us, put it away. everything else you say is, I believe, quite significant and sadly true.
  13. ..and prepare to meet Dhraram Rai...
  14. not lip service, respect them in your heart
  15. you gotta realise that truly 'good' people had to do a heck of a lot of work to get where they are. Learn from your mistakes whenever you see them, learn to recognise the truth and bite your tongue when you want to snap at someone for pointing it out. The regret you talk of shows that you care and are in fact good at heart, the fact that you were shown the truth shows that someone else cares too... its not an easy road. 'Hum maile, mainoo uj'l kardho' PS 'bad' people being forgiven is not as rare as you think...Ive heard so so many stories. The main thing is to have heart, which you've shown yourself to have already in your posts.
  16. on the contrary it is trying to protect people from abuse and hostility..or did you not read your own link. It clearly states that it is an act to protect people from acts motivated by hostility or hatred. norrow interpretataion?...lol...as compared to your dream like state? wake up and smell the coffee - mine is not an interpretation it is an analysis of how our 'free' society works - where've you been since 9/11 - democracy hardly exists anymore - you can get arrested for saying 'bomb' in an airport. if you dont care about what I think then dont read/comment on it, its a public forum and i can post what i like within the rules and regulations, as well as believe what i like. If you truly believed in freedom of belief you would never criticise anything anyone ever said as you would acknowledge their right to believe it. As regards to my '3 or 4 mindless fanatical followers' (lmao) read your reply to my post and tell me who the mindless fanatic is, you the person trying to lobby for free speech who cant handle the next opinion that comes their way. For someone who deosnt care you seem to be pretty stung by my beliefs. please point out my bland and unsupported assertions as I dont see them. Most of my views on the matter started with the words 'I believe' which is also the basis of your post. On the contrary it is you implying that abuse and insults are all part of living in a free society, I am simply saying that freedom from abuse and insults are more important than freedom to abuse and insult, although I admit prosecution is a bit extreme. But again like I said it aims to protect people from acts 'motivated by hostility or hatred.' Discussion and criticism of religion dont fall into these categories. as to your last statement - if that were true then every single Saint/Sikh/Jew etc that wears the 'garb' of their religion is a Judas. Karmi aapo aapni ke nerai ke door. bhull chuk maaf
  17. it says that it 'outlaws crime where the offender is motivated by hostility or hatred' has nothing to do with free speech - you're free to discuss it, just not free to insult or judge, which is part of the basis of the legal system 'innocent till proven guilty' I agree with it to be honest. We don't tolerate racial slurs, or slurs against peoples' sexuality (gay or straight or whatever) which are physical things, why should we tolerate slurs that attack the essence of who we are as a person and are much deeper than physical attributes. Just as we have protection of attacks on our physical things (houses etc) its only fair that we have protection from attack on our personality. It also has nothing to do with the SGPC or Tat Khalsa type organisations - its a simple police matter, you dont need to have any knowledge about any religion to know whether someone is being hateful or hostile towards it. As far as having 'abusive' statements made on Sikhawareness.com, if someone came on here and made any 'abusive' statements they'd probably be kicked off and the thread deleted or locked by the mods. As far as it being part of a free society, we have to choose between 'freedom to abuse' or 'freedom from abuse', I believe the latter is more important; there is no such thing as a totally free society, otherwise we would not have prisons. I do not believe that in a civilised society there is any space for 'freedom' to abuse. The concept of a free society is that the people choose how it's run, not that we are free to do what we like, the government (in general) is the representative of the people and has a duty to protect people from abuse and hostility.
  18. was it normal itchin?...or like pins and needles?...i sometimes gat that all over my body, and not coz i sat too long - it happens almost instantly when i start doing some paat, and stops when i stop.
  19. I think sometimes they do, but sometimes they tell the person what paat to do, and then that paat runs in their charna right -'Je ko bachan kamawe santan ka, so Gurprasadi taria' -'Suniai dukh paap ka naas'
  20. if 'Khalsa' means belonging to the emperor then I would say that 'Raj Karega Khalsa' would mean that the people of God will rule. You dont need to be a Sikh to be a person of God - 'Chea ghar, chea Gur, chea Updes' A Mahapursh once said that all the religions will eventually lead to God, the difference with Sikhi is that its the straightest most direct route, without all the rituals etc.
  21. theres a martial arts program on tv here where they go around Asia and visit real martial arts masters, the things people do with chi are amazing. theres one art where you can drain your opponents energy and they just lose control of their body, another where chi can be transferred to you opponent, causing huge pain...not to mention the nutters whobalance their body weight on the point of a spear cos they cant get hurt in a place where the chi is concentrated.
  22. did this translation get done?
  23. theres nothing to be afraid of....if you didnt know that it was a ghosts voice there wouldnt be any difference, theres a lot of good detail in there, how often do you get to hear the voice of someone who has met Guru Nanak Dev Ji?
  24. thats not true, i dont remeber the exact words but Gurbani says that you dont need to be intelligent or literate, 'Jin prem kio tin hi prabh paio' thats the main thing
