try to watch this 10 minute clip on mythology in christianity and see how people back then, made stories out of natural events in order to teach people. Ie world natural cosmology order becomes the story of crusifiction ..

After that, please read hindu mythology and try to reflect on what the inner real meaning of these myths really are

dalsingh: I agree. I find it a bit hard to believe myself, but considering how much heritage is kept in private families I would'n be surprised that some must have held on to these things. A book has recently been puslished, basing each chapter on private family collections (collection of Pir Budhu Shahs descendants etc.) which reveal things we were not aware of. I recently found out a friend of mine has an old pothi at home which contains a handwritten Sikhan Di Bhagatmala etc.- very rare stuff that has just been liying around. Even my friend's dad did'n know what the pothi contained but they have just held on to it for generations.

There are political dimensions also to the Vidiya Sagar Granth,. if it turns out it does'nt contain any of the Dasam Granth compositions this would mean that the compositions are in fact not the works of the poets, which is a theory of many anti-dasam granthi.. the lack of the banis in the VSG would be a strong argument that they are indeed the writings of Dasam Patshah

They are spread all over the libraries and archives in Punjab and Delhi - Sikh reference library, Basha Vibhaag Library, Punjab University Patiala etc...

I have talked to two scholars who both say they have seen two copies of the Vidiya Sagar Granth in Punjab at private families. The Vidiya Sagar Granth is the sum of all the scholarly work done at Ananadpur and is said to have weighted more than 320 kilos. One of the two scholars has had the fortune to examined them, and he says one of the manuscripts is most likely a much later copy while the first manuscript is from the Anandpur period having a few pages handwritten by the Guru himself. The original Vidiya Sagar Granth probably got lost in the river, while other copies were made prior to that of which at least two have survived till today.

Giani Gian Singh in his Twarikh Gur Khalsa also mentions that many of the writings of Anandpur have survived and he then mentions many of them (most i've listed above) but he does'nt mention the Vidiya sagar though which he also belives got lost

According to these two scholars i've refered above, british writings from early 1900s also mention the existence of the vidiya sagar granth which they examined

The fact that none of us can see ourselves in your summary shows that you’re way off in your analysis. But sure let’s just say we’re afraid if that makes you feel more of a tough man

    ooh shaheediyan veer jiii.

The fourth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita also talks about honouring and following your Guru, but i have never come across a reference to the mentioning of a Guru in the vedas.

do hindues also belive that each veda is ascribed to a particular yuga?

    Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj speaks

"Idol worship, ritual, wearing the dhoti, and leaving the head bare are duties that were required in previous yugas(not during the present).
During the Kalyuga, the proper duty to observe is that which binds diciple to Guru. Each Yuga has its own Veda. For the Kalyuga it is the Atharva Veda. According to the Atharva Veda he who lives in the kalyuga and obeys the word of the Guru shall find rich fullfilmen, whereas he who does not obey it will sink in the ocean of existence."

-Sakhi Rehit Ki by Bhai Nand Lal (Translated by Mcleod)

Can someone shed more light on this?

“The city of Lahore is next, about a hundred and fifty miles distant from Moultan. It is the
capital of the Seiks, a people which started up in the fifteenth century, under a Hindoo of
the name of Nanuck, born in 1470. They are a set of religionists, tolerant in matters of faith
like the Hindoos, but, unlike them, admit proselytes. They require conformity in certain
signs and ceremonies, but in other respects are pure monotheists; they worship God alone,
without image or intermediation. They may be called the reformers of India. They retain
also a calvinistical principle, and take an oath ever to oppose a monarchical government.
They eat any kind of meat excepting beef, for like the Hindoos they hold the ox in the
utmost veneration. Their general food is pork, probably because it is forbidden by the
Mahometans, whom they hold in abhorrence. Their army consists wholly of horse; they can
raise a hundred thousand cavalry, and make war in the most savage mode. They kept long
concealed or unnoticed, at length became formidable by their courage and enterprize, and
extended their conquests over Lahore, Moultan, and the western parts of Delhi.”2

I've heard a story that Guru Gobind Singh would call in some brahmins before the creation of the Khalsa and paid them many thousand rupees to do a hawan to call for a manifestation of Chandi.. The brahmins tried their best but the devi did not manifest, whereas Maharaj in the end took up his sword and said "This is the form of Chandi in kalyug. She (the sword) will assist us in conquering the mughal empire"... I believe in this version... Before the creation of the Khalsa Maharaj did a test to humiliate the brahmins (ie showing the khalsa to be superior to brahmanism)...

if I remember correctly, Rattan Singh Bhangu does specifically mention that Hari took incarnation into the Khashatriya caste in all four Yugas (when talking about the present day avatar of Guru Maharaj). Maybe the authors of the past used "caste status" as a way of making links between different joons.

Maybe the all-knowing and all-intelligent Sikhkhoj can expand on this - may we all be blessed with his knowledge. If we make any errors then Thank God he will be here to assist and correct us. Considering that the Panth Prakash is low level for him - it should be piece of cake for him to confirm...If he does'nt want to help then he is just an arrogant piece of shit as always.

No actually i've never claimed to be a scholar - its just you making up shit as usual... Like i've said earlier, you're just debating yourself... Go write a granth better than those of Kavi Santokh Singh, Rattan Singh Bhangu etc... With the amount of arrogance in you - you probably think you can.

You little twat, you have polluted every single topic here for the past couple of months with your arrogant remarks and personal attacks... And now all of a sudden you’re telling me to respect your topic. Seriously man spend less time on sikhawareness and spend more time on fixing yourself up. I don’t know if you’re stupid or just born as a negative piece of shit. But if you bring up an argument you have to complete it. You can’t just claim people went there and then not say who they were. I take it you’re making up shit as you go along since you consider debates as competitions to win.

Get your OCD act together or whatever illness you're suffering from. Why would I even ask GS Mann and others when I can ask you -  a scholar of much greater standards. You even think you are better at writing Granths than Rattan Singh Bhangu haha.. .You little arrogant piece of shit. Tell us who these professors are or stop making up stuff as you go along.
