  1. Good stuff, it's very easy to fall into the chakar of trying to rationalise everything, look for reasons behind what Guru Ji did and asks us to do etc, but in the end it's all about pyaar. Without pyaar, the path of Sikhi becomes impossible. Being in the sangat of someone who has so much pyaar that they have dedicated everything to Guru Ji is amazing.
  2. Purely political - to have their own Gurudwarey to run. The election system always favours the majority, and politicians always find something to divide the electorate. In India, Tarkhans were effectively locked out of elected posts because of this and finding themselves in the majority in E. Africa led to the current situation. It is still virtually impossible for a Tarkhan in Nairobi (Kenya) to become a member of the 'bhappa' dominated Singh Sabha and vice-versa. The Jatts have control of a couple of Gurudwarey as well. Sad state of affairs. The complete lack of Maryada in most Ramghariya Gurudwarey (infact all Gurudwarey in Kenya, even Singh Sabha and Nanaksar) is shocking. Langar is now a meal hosted by rich people for their friends, cooked by outside caterers, self service buffet style, wearing shoes, heads uncovered etc. Going to take a revolution to sort things out, maybe with violence. Note: in the UK, Tarkhans were again the minority and being unable to win elections, they made their own Gurudwarey.
  3. Never come across that myself, but it is a disgrace if it happens.
  4. Any of you visited Patna Sahib? What's it (and the other historic Gurudware in the area) like?
  5. People, don't write abusive stuff. N30, check your PM!!!

  7. When was the last time 'Kshatriya type Sikhs like' stood up and fought against oppression of their brothers, or their own?! As long as we keep working on ourselves, trying to follow Guru Ji's Sikhshya, then there is hope that things will go right, with Guru Ji's kirpa. As long as we follow our minds desires, we will lack Guru Ji's kirpa and nothing will happen. It only took 1 Pyara of Guru Ji to shake the oppressive Indian Govt' to the core in the late 70s and early 80s. Imagine what a handful can do?
  8. Do you know how to do all that? i.e. can you help?
  9. WJKK! WJKF! Have often heard that bhagti in the month of Maagh is more fruitful than bhagti done in other months i.e. the phal is more (10 times?). Anyone heard similar and know the reason for this? Dhanvaad Jio.
  10. Tera ki faida hoiya? sorry jea. Should have recorded it, even on your phone
  11. Keep up the good work Singh. Wish the Suraj Prakash blog was going on too. Got time now so can help.

  14. LOL! womens lib obviously started in Punjab
  15. The word 'loh' or 'loha' generally refers to iron or, these days, steel.
  16. Satgyan-pujari, many have contacted the webmasters , even spoken personally, from day one (some before the site went live) but it didn't make any difference, nor were any answers forthcoming. Said it before, controversy sells. There are many posts, most of them made way back, by some of Niddar Singh's original students on this site to back up what Chatanga wrote. You'd be surprised at some of the stuff those lot got up to and the consequences their actions / behaviour had on a large number of young people trying to find their way in Sikhi. Anyway, this topic seems to have run its course but will leave it open for a few more days - until the next time I'm near civilisation.
  17. having bijli truly is a priviledge - had it 2 days straight now, lol

  18. Exorcised maybe, lol. Nah, the problem is with a few people who take pleasure in twisting facts etc and presenting false as truth. The Shastar Vidiya is actually quite good. 'tis a great tamasha this world - some things are not what they seem.
