  1. Isn't Baba Jagjit Singh one of the sants that sit on the gaddi at Harkhowal. My pind is a follows Baba Didar Singh Harkhowal who claim to be the true inhertor of the guddi. I heard there has been some things happeneing at the gurdwara. Takeovers etc.
  2. I don't have the right to judge who is and isn't sikh. If someone who follows Guru Sahib isn't their sikhs then what else are they? By the way I am not Sikh (religious label with capital S) but I am a sikh (disciple) of the Gurus.
  3. SGPC sikhi was directly influenced by protestant christianity, as are modern translations of bani, where different shabads are simply generalised go meaning "God". This narrowing down of a sikh to only being a follower of the SGPC Lahore Singh Sabha Tat Khalsa is another one of these christian attributes, of a membership only tribal religion.
  4. well I don't think people should do away with the marital traditions of their respective cultures.
  5. no I think they r trying to push their own views. A friend of mind is telling me a lot of BOSS and sikh society peoples r AKJs. Her friend went to a BOSS camp and was new to sikhi, she got scared of the kirtan they were doing, the boppin jumpy type.
  6. You don't know the half of it. From some of the events and sikh societies I have been to, some of the stuff they are trying to push is pretty extreme, I was just too young to notice before.
  7. They don't have a sikh society at Thames Valley? Or do they? I would be surprised, since there are LOADS of sikhs in Slough. Although, I worry about anything associated with BOSS. lol
  8. Girls is going to far, when girls have short haircut, it just very un-traditional looking. I don't like it. Even traditonal (including hindu) families are against this, regardless of how much they follow sikhi. What is a surd, can u explain to me further?
  9. stuff like: "Quite abruptly he said that im not a sikh if i havnt had amrit." "my prayers to god will not be answered if i dont take amrit. "
  10. only the stuff some people teach at sikh society meetings I have attended
  11. Damn that is the same kattar/extremist stuff are teaching at BOSS uni sikh societies these days. There are gurdwareh with these views? :x
  12. hi 1santkhalsa could u next time post thelink of the thread or artice as well thanx actually could u post it nwo as well? satsriakal
  13. I have noticed something about BOSS and their university sikh societies in the UK. They seem to like to put down other cults that they find controversial eg namdharis and radhasoamis, but at the same time find it OK to accept the raagmala rejecting AKJ and the other different things they do. Who sees this as favouritism? lol Is it ok to see AKJ as controversial just like the other cults?
  14. so where in the panth do bhatrey fit in, do they fit into sanatan because they are there since Guru Nanak Dev Jis time, or maybe they have been SGPCfied which is difficult to believe with the full english breakfast and drinking amirt-shuk giani, but then there's the Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale picture. Seriously, where do they fit in? oh yeah and another thing, they exist since Guru nanak's time, so I need an explanation, is meat allowed in some non-SGPC langars, because I have heard of meat being served even in the Gurus times, but I do not know. Also is it true most bhatrey live in a certain area in the uk, but forgot where it was. Also I got respect for bhatras, they marry their kids off at a good age, not like kids these days gettin upto no good and doing lafungpuna.
  15. My punjabi isn't good enough to understand the last part he was saying about Jarnail Singh Bhindrawaley? Good someone translate that bit for me?
