  1. there is a big difference between someone being accused of pro-RSS preaching and being accused of murder . No time soon, from the Sikh Panth.
  2. what is the difference of the hazoor sahib 'beautification' and the destruction that took place in Beijing for the Olympics 2008 developmentas? Methinks its the same people.
  3. you gotta love the way Nihang Nidar dresses so casually even to attend places like Parliament. Wonder what he'll wear to a 'black tie do'?
  4. What use are new homes if they are miles out of town, posibbly sub-standard to what they had; not to mention the sentimental attachment to their homes. if they were given new homes, even if it was a palace doesn't excuse that fact that they were forced out at gunpoint in the middle of the night!!!
  5. Of course, Sikhs always think of eveyones 'bhalla'. How can such things be done by chardi kala Singhs for such an occasion? [sarcastically} Some things are best swept under the carpet. (from what I hear thats not all that happened, more details appear in the book. So please, everyone, at least buy and read the last couple of chapters of the book before you start burning it for being Anti-Sikh!)
  6. Do you have another conspiricy theory you want to share with us, Tony? the same can be said about the new commitees that take over our gurdwaras every year or the political parties of Panjab.
  7. Never noticed this thread before. So i'll post me intro now: I'm a Jatt, hence my name. From the Great British land. Newly employed as an under-sea fire fighter. Though previously a self-employed disposable ciggie lighter repairman.
  8. All you are hearing is a mumbo jumbo of different people talking over each other , telling each other to shutup - a peculiar panjabi trait-, edited down to a few minutes , with the anti-Nidarists blurring their faces to protect their identity incase they get lynched by Nihang Nidar, I presume. Show us the unedited debate-cum-apology which apparently lasted a couple of hours then maybe we can make a somewhat decent comment. All this cr4p that these guys put on the net to show how Nihang Nidar is a naughty boy just makes me laugh. from what I could tell most of the guys just seemed local chaps. couldn't make out the 'representatives' od the Nihang dals, DDT and other jathebandia. or maybe these locals are their regional ambassadors in Maharashtara?! First there was a blurred 2min mobile clip showing a tussle between Nihang Nidar and Teji sparring and people start claiming that teji one won over the other. Such a massive crowed of people and they just had a 2min phone recording of this legendary battle?? Show me the full fight. And now we have this 'evidence'. I would have thought that if this book that hardly anyone has seen or read is that objectionable all the Sikhs of India would be on the streets having book-burning parties and demanding that it be banned. heard nothing of the sort yet.
  9. Another Nihang Phoola Singh then?? Is it going to take a couple of Panjabi mona patits - who aren't allowed to call themselves Sehajdhari Sikhs- to show the 'Sikhs' on how to deal with these type of individuals? Or can the kaum get their backsides into gear and do something useful for a change?
  10. According to SS.com there was an event at the Palace to launch the book 'In The Masters Presence' on the 12th Jan. It was attended by various dignitaries and MP's. Anyone here attend or have further details?
  11. As per my understanding: All Gurbani has literal translations/meanings. Furthermore it has other meanings as well that only the spiritually 'uchh avastha' people know of, either naturally due to their status or through a lifetime of study. (I think meta-physical meanings is the term.) Also I think there are different meanings according to different sampardas and backgrounds; as mentioned by Giani Sant S. Maskeen: the dozens of different teekas of JapJi Sahib that are all different but correct in their own way. Could you guys please expand on this, or have I got the completely wrong end of the stick?
  12. Is this the same chap whose rumoured to be a peadophile or is it the robber one?
  13. I recall Ustad DilBadshah Singh, also calling it 'Vaar Durga Ki'. he simply stated that both are one and the same incarnation of Shakti(?).
  14. I thought they were part of the Nirmalas?
  15. Cheers for that quote. How would you reference it? As in , if i wanted to actually check it out in the SGGS.
  16. LOL, so true. then once you graduate and get a job you go and marry your Bhaji or Bhenji;)
  17. I suppose the SS.com guys found your question toooo challenging for their narrow way of thinking. Well, youve come to right place to ask sensible questions as such. Ah , SA.com thrives on debates and to some extent arguments, hence the reason it probs the most enlightened forum on the net. Enjoy your stay here and learn what real Sikhi is about. Anyways, back to your question......i'll leave it to the educated members to answer it. Fateh
  18. This is a very modern thinking taking hold in gurdwaras. I cannot agree with. Sikhs have always worn Kalgis, even crowns!. Granted that protocol states that in the hazoori of SGGS you will need to remove it as done during the lavan ceremony. The 6th Guru wore the two miri-piri swords. Shouyld a Sikh only wear one or three then?
  19. On most forums , especially neo-Sikh ones that prescibe the 'do your jap naam, do good sangat and take amrit shak'! (- what linguistic abilities!) make it sound so easy to cotrol kam, krodh, etc. If great rishis, after doing yugs worth of tapasya can succumb to their hankar, what makes you think by attending sikh camps and wearing 5ks will work? On the other hand we see people trying to hide their lust or attraction for the opposite sex by stating how women should appear, dress and behave in public. Very Talibanesque! Probs gone off topic but feel in a ranting mood
  20. Whats the biggie about wearing a kalgi? Dont bride grooms in Panjab wear it? Or all the Royalty of India inc the Panjabi Sikh Kings/Princes? Soon it'll be controversial to wear a turban because the gurus wore it!
