  1. ur taking panthic.org as factual source for news? those jokers can't even spell their own names right! I'd bet a million bux panthic.org has intentionally mistyped the 'sat sitare' to incite the hot-heads... but too bad I don't gamble.. would've made an easy million! The response with violence and forcing innocent ppl to shut down shops by akali activists is uncalled for... so all this crap happens.. the ram rahim dude gets a celebrity status and special protection from police.. who's paying the price? What an embarassment for everyone this entire ordeal has turned into... great to see our 'panthic' news organizations inciting more barbaric behavior.. ramrahim dude made a mockery of vaisakhi or not is one thing.. but the tbt singh soorme going around shutting down ppl's shops and livelihoods acting like law-less persons have definitely made a mockery out of all Sikhs!
  2. Don't think there's more else where. Even on that site there's only 1 track which is from Anand Sahib... now I must go listen to it! damn u challenge everything! I don't think it's the style or intricate instrument but the Sharda of the singer that shines through the Shabad that makes a Shabad beautiful, I don't need to give example here.. u all know of peeps who r the Drs. and phds of 'gurmat' sangeet yet their performance is so dry there's more Rass in Sahara dessert in July!
  3. The problem is because most so called goodsikhs today don't realize Sikhism existed before 1984.. stuff like this has been happening since Guru Angad Devji's time... remember Datu and Dasu? ... what about the 22 count them TWENTY TWO manjis? How did the Sikhs handle those situations? Public condemnations and burning their effigy thereby wasting their lives in the Sangat of such people? I don't blame u for giving up javanmard...
  4. ''How big must your lack of faith be that you feel threatened by these clowns. Maharaj path is immortal, what are you afraid of? Or is it because you are afraid of losing members of the "tribe"? '' Well said.
  5. How is this an 'attack' on Sikhism? Is he forcing anyone to drink his milk potion? Dheermallias controlled Darbar Sahib and Akat Takhat for decades preaching and telling people they were Gurus, many believed them and became their followers. Why didn't the tbt goodsikhs 'do something' then? Why did FOUR Dehdhari Gurus, who had Sikhs ready to give up their families and heads for them, not 'do something to retalliate'? For the record I don't know this guy or anything about him... but this constant fear and public display of cowardice that 'siky is under attack! oh no! the sky is falling!' is really foolish to say the least... especially for this forum.. Has it ever occured to anyone its the same thing the taliban-types r preaching? 'islam is under attack! we must retalliate with jihad!'... Allahu Akbar!
  6. Damdama as an area itself is renowned for proper Gurbani Santhia. Many became Namdharis in 1800's and brought along with them the knowledge in this regard. A Namdhari Sikh from Damdama was given the Sewa of reading Japji Sahib to Satguru Ram Singh Ji every morning. However a 'movement', 'Jatha' or 'Taksal' called 'Damdama' is clearly a later invention.
  7. Glad you enjoyed it kam90210. All the phal of years of daas listening to maharaj's pavittar lectures. in the post 9/11 world, there's nothing more exciting or gets more rating for the media than a guy with a turban delivering hate speeches and preaching the ideology of separatism. Be very careful. Wasn't there a Canadian politician bloke who just got the job or something in the congress there? What is he doing in the light of all this? Or is he just another member of the 'Ravan Sena'? LOL!!! Totally agree with N30Singh and that's what I've been trying to say, sadly without success getting through to the 1 expectable audience, Sikhs are most vulnerable because of the conspicuous attire and the sheer stupidity of farengis in America and Canada. More diplomatic personalities are needed not some dumbnut barbarians. I say vote N30 Singh for 2008 or whenever the next election is!
  8. hmm.. so the sentence 'remembering history is one thing, holding grudges is another' 'seems' to suggest that daas is converying the message that followers of maharaj r holding grudges and using terms like 'ravan sena' to refer to Indian govt? hmmm. interesting how those alphabets make up words that 'seems' to mean something isn't it?
  9. Where did I (i.e. daas) say 'no need to remember'? Wasn't it me (i.e. daas) that wrote: 'knowing history is one thing, holding grudges is another'? gosh I suppose I'm not writing clear enough.. a vidya guru is definitely needed here Javanmard would u be my gurdev? I need specific lessons on how to throw a tantrum online and blame the jews for everything that's happening to me and yet be able to say 'im just remembering!' don't blame me it's blame the jews!
  10. Sorry I should've thought better than using the word 'crying over' the incident.. its more like 'spreading hatred' and 'seeking revenge' now in 2007.. also notice most of the chardikala tbt goodseekz fuming and getting all worked up were approximately 2-3 years of age back then... maybe 11 at best.. the way I see it: bibi killed maharaj, bibi got killed, innocent sikhs got killed, sikhs blew up planes of innocent civilians. all this plus 20 years = Let's move on and create a better image to avoid being painted with the alqaida brush! ps since I'm a pacifist I'm able to refer to people with respect.
  11. It's been over 20 years. Why is pacifist a bad word? The main Guru Granth that all goodseekz claim their Guru speaks far more of forgiveness, peace and pacificity than war and battle that the Dasam Guru Granth talks about. Obviously pacificity isn't all bad and there needs to be balance.. but look at ur calendar... it's 2007... crying and whining now over an event which both sides have blood on their hands.. and that too laughably thousands of km away in UK and Canada.. is pointless to say the least
  12. Forgiveness is key. Knowing history is one thing, holding grudges is another.
  13. Jiu Jiu Bisrai Gobind Rai, Dinno Din Ghattiai. This fear of 'the enemy within' is dumb in itself. Today's Sikhs have got to be the most cowardice race to ever exist. Every new Godvara popping up around the corner is because goodseekz r 'afraid' they will be exposed to a different viewpoint of a Tarkhaan or a Jatt goodSikh.. control your own minds and worry about urself goodsikhoz or else the examples of shia/sunni killings (what is it called? ethnic cleansing or something?) in Baghdad will no longer b just 'examples'!
  14. Can the murder of Baljit Kaur really be attributed to maharaj Jarnail Singh after all? Who is to say he even knew about what happened to her? Maybe if he knew he'd not have allowed his Sikhs to kill her?
  15. Nihang Radio.. will there be a track of actual weapons clashing to imitate the Gurbani (For those who believe it is) Jhagardang Nagardang Bagardang Bajay? Did u all atleast got free dinner or something for all that time and petrol wasted?
  16. hmmm... were these 'letters' the same ones allegedly 'gifted' to Bhai Vir Singh by the tbt Tahel Singh Fukker? Read all about it: namdhari.faithweb.com/gururamsinghguru1.htm Also these little chamchas today act like scholars of Sikhism but know next to nothing about the relationship of Namdharis and the SAD which goes way back to the times of Satguru Partap Singh Ji and Master Tara Singhji.... whatever.. what to say of such ignorant peeps...
  17. Never knew Namdharis r forbidden to say Fateh .. is this a new propaganda I should know about? While there is no doubt most Ragis who are not Hazoori tend to be quite corrupt, no need to name names here, at the end of the day it is not anyone's position to pass a judgement on anyone else.. What was the first thing Baljeet Singh did after being awarded the plaque and Rs 2 lac by the SGPC for being named 'Sharomani Ragi'? He presented the award and money to his Guru. But ofcourse it is only his Guru who can judge him.. and luckily for him his Guru not only told him to take back what he brought but also doubled his monetary award.. so what someone says or speculate is just plain bs... anyways this discussion is about Gurmantar so answer the poor twelth guru's question so he can get on with his life
  18. This is the 'freedom of speech' and 'democracy' in action.. Such injustice r everyday thing in India.. Sikhs have become desensitized to these kind of things for the most part.. but there is no question it is extremely hurtful for many and this has no place in the civilized world as much as all other acts of hatred.. Glad to hear they are being dealt with an iron-fist of the justice system.. late is better than never!
  19. Also do a google on the link between clothes dying and skin cancer while we're on the 'color-therapy' topic
  20. lol dude.. what else r u talking about? Color of clothes or just colors in general? If its color in general then there are definitely way more colors than just the 3 u mentioned.. read ur monitor's manual.. I think it claims 1.64 million or something on average
  21. I am pretty sure khayal was invented by one muslim 'Amir Khusro' of Delhi's. There was another Hindu Ragi who played along with him, something 'Nayek' was his name. Google it! Niranjana has pretty much summed up my take on Harmonium and other instruments. It is great there r those who are trying to please the 10 (6 more accurately as in the Granth Sahib) Gurus by doing research. But how accurate will this research be? Whether or not this is leading to unnecesary new traditions? Whether the Gurus would be pleased or not is again an 'argument' for another thread..
  22. What is 'Gurmat Sangeet'? In my belief Gurmat Sangeet is that which is pleasing to and invokes the SatGuru. I've read several 'rules and regulations' recently in several places including here but my understanding is at the end of the day 'Gurmat Sangeet' means that which is pleasing to the person's Guru. Who created the 'rules' for 'Gurmat' Sangeet in the mainstream sikhism and when were they established because clearly not much attention was given to them until very recently? To add to it Sangeet includes 'Singing', 'Playing Instruments' and 'Dancing'. How does the latter fit into the tbt singh soorme where reportedly in the 'good old days' when a Ragi becomes too 'overwhelmed' (Never use the word 'Mast' coz it's anti-Panthic!) he will just simply 'stop' and either himself or some other people sitting near him will allegedly 'calm him down' until he is in the position to continue playing. What you get from this is that any kind of letting your physical body 'flow' with the rhythm is gravely anti-panthic. So does the mainstream sikhism include 'Nirt' or 'Dancing' as part of Sangeet? If not then isn't that perhaps another 'lost treasure'? or maybe it's all for the best?
