  1. when I notice a Sikh with white skin (not that the skin colour matters) I often think to myself 'how did s/he get into Sikhi?' A lot of the time these stories are inspiring and make me feel very humble regarding the power of our Guru, they also make me feel a greater affinity for the Guru Khalsa Panth (regardless of who tells the story). I also tend to feel quite happy to have their darshan. my point is, and I'm sure that you know it already, not everyone who 'notices' a Singh is looking in a bad way. would love to hear your story veer ji, if you feel like sharing it.
  2. The Word, the Bani is Guru, and Guru is the Bani. Within the Bani, the Ambrosial Nectar is contained. If His humble servant believes, and acts according to the Words of the Guru's Bani, then the Guru, in person(partakh), emancipates him. ||5|| simple. when dasm dwar opens, our Guru creates a sareer of the 5 elements (and so is partakh) and appears before us to bless us with his Darshan. it's a high avastha, but there are many sikhs around who can confirm this, if they are willing to discuss the subject.
  3. we need some gian of the path before us. I once heard of a man who had Amrit start dripping ddown from his Dasm Dwar. He didn't know what was going on and thought he was ill! he told many others and went to the doctor for medical advice. So... some foreknowledge definitley helps. always good to know that you're not going crazy... btw, will anyone here indulge my obsession with 2012 and the future??
  4. I'm interested in knowing what else sau sakhi has to say about 2012 and the future. Drawrof (and others), would you mind explaining this to us, perhaps in a new thread?

  8. I find that I often can't see the pics you post on this forum using safari or firefox. And I can't use internet explorer with my computer. do you have another server or website where I can get these pics?
  9. stevepavlina.com. go to the forums. no idea if those ppl know it or not, it's also a new forum. i don't do it b/c sikhi isn't about getting ridh sidh, it's a distraction from getting spiritual earnings. by they way, i don't believe that there are shortcuts to getting darshan of the Guru. it comes when teh Guru wants to show u. let us know what you find, if anything.
  10. just so you know, although i don't think use of marijuana purely for medical reasons is wrong, he may wish to find a safer way to use it. a british medical journal once reported that a single joint can have the tar of 15-20 cigerettes. so he may be helping himself with one problem, but creating another at the same time.
  11. the wooden sandal is kept in inside the kaba. it is in the middle of a muslim holy place. i would think that Gurbani, as written above, woudl be enough evidence. Sorry, i don't have any other evidence for you.

  13. oh, ok, so are you saying that somebody referred to the Sukhmani Sahib tuk as if it had come from Baba ji? or are you saying that Baba ji is referred to as an example of a Bhramgiani, as defined in Sukhmani Sahib?
  14. sangat is one of the main sources of learning in sikhi. sants are those who have advanced to a very high stage and gained first hadn knowledge of spiritual regions we have not yet reached. it makes sense to get advice from them. Bani is a touchstone for this advice. also, there are stages reached where a person is open to gian, gian just comes to them without any need for research etc. sometimes ppl misjudge whether or not a person is at that stage. but that doesn't invalidate the fact that such stages exist.
  15. actually, i was just wondering if the writer could clarify the post and i got lazy so i just did a copy and paste.
  16. tapoban also says that non-jatha amrit sanchars do give naam dhrir; but depends to whom you go.

  18. "As per Baba Nand Singh Ji of Nanaksar, one who slander Sant does not need to eat poision." ?????????????????????????????????
  19. Javanmard, I've heard that there is more than one Vishnu, Shiva, or Brahma. These too, are janams of a sort.
  20. didn't qoute properly. The above post is referring to Giani Takhur Singh's katha on the Bhagat Sahiban coming to get AmritChak after the final form of Amrit was introduced by Guru Gobind Singh ji.
  21. I believe he said that they all came back to do Satkaar of Amrit. I don't recall any necessity, however, these Gurmukhs are all very humble and polite people, so it makes sense that they would such a thing to do satkaar. Also, he didn't say that they couldn't get mukti before, just that Guru Nanak Sahib ji was the first into Sachkhand. Mukti and Sachkhand are different (but you know that already). And he does refer to the Bhagat Sahiban as Brahmgyani (i think). It's been quite awhile since I heard that katha, so bhul chuk maaf.
  22. Saas Giraas, according to Sant Jagjit Singh ji Harkhowal, means simran with every in breath and every out breath.
  23. it's worthwhile to take a look at the channel M news broadcast of a meeting between the two sides. the protest was backed by dasmesh darbar, they were ticked that the Sant wasn't going to their Gurdwara, which created a major loss of revenue for them. However, last time he came, Dasmesh welcomed him and allowed him to do kirtan at their Gurdwara. Panthic Weekly is a really bias news source, very strongly AKJ influenced. I have nothing against AKJ, but it seems that b/c most sants disagree with AKJ's stance on certain rahit, many AKJ'rs denounce those who use the word 'sant' and those who are regarded as sant. it's a sad state of affairs, with people failing to look to the essence of the matter and instead playing politics. it's interesting to note that Bhai Rama Singh ji, one of the former jathedars of AKJ, believed that sants do exist and mentions goign to meet a brahm giani in his autobiography. this is not to say that Baba Ranjit Singh ji hasn't made mistakes, he has. But if someone wants to go to the diwans of a pro-panthic individual who has confessed and apologised for his mistakes, there is nothing wrong with that.
  24. N3O Singh, you have a good point that others can also open their Dasm Dwar. However, there are still differences btwn spirituality in this dharm and in others. Vashisht Muni ji used to give darshan to Baba Harnam Singh ji Rampur Khera. One Time, Vashist Muni ji said that the Naam Russ Sikhs get, They did not get that. Only Sikhs have that. And Vashist Muni ji is a brahm giani ! (from a katha by Giani Takhur Singh ji). "external" rahit has massive significance and is intimately tied to "internal" rahit. Think of a batta that holds your kamai (spiritual earnings) from Naam Bani. Holes in rahit are like little leaks, making it so that you lose some kamai. Giani Takhur Singh ji told me that rahit is a modifier of kamai, the more rahit you keep the more kamai you get to keep. However, as far as I'm aware, rahit does not earn anything all by itself, Naam Bani Seva is still the main thing, and without these rahit has little value, if any.
