  1. did u make this up yourself? or did u get it from another source?
  2. Personally, I think these Muslims need a good hiding from some big Singhs isn't it.
  3. When others die, you measure your own wealth in your mind; you waste your life in the pleasures of the mouth and sexual organs. ||3||
  4. There hardly seems to be any famous-ish Sikh converts out there. However, I have heard that Madonna's yoga teacher is a Sikh, and that a Scottish model converted to Sikhi. Anybody give more information/suggestions on these and other famous-ish Sikh converts?
  5. Very nice ji, wasn't expecting such a zabzardast reply!
  6. What is the illness of kohar?
  7. Isn't the concept of jhoot very good, even tho i am only really starting to come to terms with it properly...it has ensured that our Gurus have given us a very clean way of living...i.e. limiting diseases passed on by germs from others/ourselves-it is much more than some brahmin thing.
  8. I'll try tp get more info on my source as soon as poss
  9. "Talking too much, one only starts arguments. Without the Name, everything is poison - know this well." - Guru Nanak
  10. Isn't it wrong to have Guru Nanak Dev Ji's picture on coins? Considering what money is (maya), and more importantly the way we usually just chuck coins around
  11. what about the euthanasia when u don't keep the machines running that are keeping ppl alive? surely thats not directly taking alive and is ok
  12. Where to get the book "Sikhi predictions", at all good bookstores? (lol!)
  13. At the end of the day, none of us are anywhere near perfect, so crictising others is just hypocricsy, and i'm sure there is/are quotes in GGSJ to say that hypocrits are not liked by God.
  14. Aren't we supposed to control kaam in order to meet with Vaheguru? After all Vaheguru doesn't have Kaam isn't it
  15. parents need to guide their kids and educate them, but only the kid can realise the teachings truly for themselves
  16. We must make sure that Sikhi spreads for the good of the world, but at the same time, not allow quantity to outbalance quality within our relgion, which is definitely true of the world's two biggest religions (by size) Christianity and Islam. We must also make sure that there are not too many sects in our religion, like in Christianity, while being almost inevitable, must also be limited as much as possible in accordance with the teachings of the GGSJ and the ten Gurus
  17. I thought the dasam dewar was on the top of our head somewhere, isn't that a reason why we are supposed to keep our heads covered? And also, i've heard that we make promises to Vaheguru when in the womb to repeat Naam, but i don't know if that's actually true.
  18. From most of the time when i am at the Gurdwara and see people metha thek, they do it kneeling with their kneecaps on the floor as i am sure u know what i mean. But occassionaly, (it usually seems to be some old bibi) people metha thek with their full body lying on the floor. Is there any correct way, or is it just a matter of bowing your head and touching your metha to the floor in respect of Guru Granth Sahib Ji?
  19. it's true, a reason for the kara is that it represents equality in Sikhi for males and females, rakhri just represents male superiority if i'm not wrong...thats why we only have the kara-obvious Hindu traditions creeping into Sikhi over the years
  20. tulwaar? (at the risk of being made to look stupid)
  21. I don't want to slander Muhammed, but what about some of the stuff he did..? Our Gurus never did anything like that
