  1. What is "Language" and Understanding? You are not going to get anything by understanding languaging or trying to intellectually discuss what is written in the SGGS, becoz it is beyond human understanding. Only brahmgyanis can know through real actual experience. Baba Nand Singh Sahib never read the SGGS, my guess is that he was also illeterate but he knew the entire SGGS by heart without reading from it. Another Gursikh I know, can automatically tell the hukamnama issued from Golden Temple and can also tell which shabad is being played simply by his surtee.
  2. llalleshvari, are you afraid to goto hell ! Guru Gobind Singh Jee is GOD HIMSELF and I believe that ! Guru Nanak Dev ji is also God, Nirankar Himself and Khalsa is right on that and I know my Guru Nanak ! I dont have to read some ancient texts on sikhi written by historians to know my Guru. Guru Nanak is Nirankar. God is everywhere and everything is God. This my heart says and I believe it. In Sikhi there are no "Two". There is only "One'. God and Guru is SAME !
  3. Yes. It is absolutely okay. In my opinion God doesnt accept children who dont respect or treat there parents well. In one way God has come in the form of parents to us. Guru Nanak Dev ji had so much respect for his parents, even though they always use to hurt him, scold him. He still did family business, still listenned to his father and even took him to sach khand !
  4. I dont give anything to the Guru ! I cant give. I can only take from Him. We are in no position to give, the least we should not try to be greedy.
  5. Khalsa Ji, The mool mantra or waheguru mantra should be japped inside your heart automatically .... what use is listenning outside.. if it is not being recited inside subconsciously? as for mool mantra being japed before waheguru mantra. These things are matter of opinion, There are no rules. Guru only sees love and not rules.
  6. Whats the big deal about learning Punjabi ? I too wanted to learn once upon a time and did learn ... but is it going to be of any spiritual benefit ? I dont think so ! Coz whats gonna matter is God's Grace and there are so many uneducated ppl out there, who dont know punjabi or anything and yet they are still one with God. It is not a matter of punjabi, learning punjabi isnt the goal and is not going to mould your heart. If you have true love for God, then u will know the entire SGGS without even reading it or learning punjabi. It is a matter of God's Grace. In USA and Canada I see so many ppl spending so much effort trying to be Gursikh by learning Tabla, Harmonium , Punjabi... but thats not the goal. On the otherside of the world there are ppl who dont know any of these things and yet are in peace and one with God. A Halwai (Sweet maker) makes only sweets but is not amused by the taste of the sweets. Similarly a raagi sings kirtan but is not amused by the sweetnes of the Kirtan. Only the listenner is able to enjoy the kirtan.
  7. Dear Friends, I am here to post, I usually dont talk to much and I dont like to post also, but due to certain circumstances I am posting overhere. The path to Guru Sahib is Hard-one. It is difficult. Most of us can not carry the weight and are often mislead and I tell you that there are many. You can not carry 10 litres of water in a 1 litre bucket capacity. You will fall ! Only those people are able to meet Guru-Sahib on which the Guru casts his grace and once this grace is cast... one can not explain to others of how to meet God and what to practice ! These things are unexplainable. All one can say is wether the path one is taking is correct or incorrect. But still out of a dire desire to help.. I am going to try to point out certain things. 1)You can not do simran , nitnem or path ! ... no matter how much self-effort you put into it. This is out of your hand and nothing is going to happen. Only when God showers his grace will you be able to do these things. Therefore one must have FAITH rather than forcing himself into such practices. If you have Faith then God makes sure you complete your nitnem , no matter how late you are. But by self-effort nothing is going to happen. 2)Reading biographis of sants and babas are not going to help. I have been through that stage and God is NOT happy at all. Every sant, baba has his own story , different story and different experience and everybody will say different things out of bhavana and those things will apply only to the certain directed individual. I see so many people caught up in sant babas and trying to copy and imitate them. Trust me trying to do what is said in there biographis wont HELP. There true biography is there inner-life , which can not be described. Reading stories of bhakts and doing what they did.. wont help. Coz there life-story is different. This will put you in an endless trap. I have been through this. The Only support you have is WAHEGURU and Waheguru speaks to you inside your heart and that is what you MUST DO. 3)Reading Sri Guru Granth Sahib and posting quotes and then arguing over it. My friends Gurbani is BRAHM and only a person who has met with God can understand Gurbani. Once Kal Yug asked Guru Nanak Dev Ji of how Kal Yug will stop people meeting God and Kal Yug said that he will show criticism(nindya) of other people in the bani of bhagats and Gurus and in this way mislead people. This is why so many people will pick up quotes from SGGS and fight with hindus and muslims without understanding which is only possible by meeting God. They dont realise that this is a trick of maya. 4)There are other people who will do simran, not sleep at night and keep doing path. God dont accept such people because they dont do there duty. Which is 100% obidience to parents and 100% doing your duty. God has already given us parents to be served, our kirt , but we leave those things and do nindya of our parents and go and do seva in Gurudwaras and sit in simran. Just remember my friends that your simran and amrit vela will not bear fruit unless you are a 100% obidience to your parents and in your kirt. A person who breaks the heart of his parent even once is doing a sin. I have learnt such things by Kirpa and now I am sharing. You can not do simran by self-effort. It is only God who will make you do it. Count on it. I was at one point of in my life messed up, but now I feel God alwasy ang sang with me and my mind very peaceful. Wherever I go I feel God next to me. God has told me to alwasy respect parents, do duty kirt and HAVE FAITH IN GOD and God automatically makes me do simran, nitnem. I dont put any self-efforts in my practice. I am Free and this no one can explain in words. So plz parents first. Parents are next to GOD ! Now, I know there are those will bring posts from SGGS which will make them think that parents are moh and stuff, but as I said above that these ppl fail to understand Gurbani and its indication.. becoz Gurbani is Brahm and can not be understood by mere reading. To fight and argue with verses of SGGS is a trick played by Kal Yug to make them do nindiya.
  8. I dont know how for accurate these hukamnamas are .. but ihave had some bad experiences 1)Talking about eating jooth.. while I agree we should not eat jooth, but i ahve met such brahmanical sikh people who will not eat food if you touch there food or if you cook for them and these same people will go and eat on dhabas !!! THATS CRAP !!... Coz it really hurts someone if you say you r not gonna eat food cooked by other or if it is touched by other. I know ppl in my own family who will not eat food if some outsider serves them with a serving spoon.. and if you bring food as gift such as chocolates then they will throw it away and those are all KARAM-KANDAS. Yes we shouldnt eat dirty jootha food.. tahts not good !!! in those days ppl use to eat jootha food of the rich thrown on the ground and it happens today also where a boss in his office will give his left-over frenchfries to the servants .. and thats what is wrong.. but eating jooth of your family or food cooked by your family is OKAY. 2)regarding marrying only an AMRITDHARI, ... people what about your parents.. with whom you live all the time ???? or do you want to say that it all comes down to martial (Sexual) relation ?? THESE ARE KARAM KANDAS AND GURU JI TOLD US TO BE FREE OF KARAM-KANDAS... Dont look at what those historians with there scientific instruments are saying... Listen to your heart !!! and if u still cant find the answer then Guru Ji will tell you and teach you ... if you have faith ! and this I say from my experience.
  9. Gursikhs know there Guru. Like son knows about father and his habits. Historians only know Guru from evidences, sculptures and other books which can be wrong. All the Gursikhs/Sants I met completely denied Guru ji ever ate meat with 100% confidence and here are historians with there website with Guru ji hunting and eating meat... and making new history. I trust the Gursikhs who are joined with the Guru.
  10. Gursikhs know there Guru. Like son knows about father and his habits. Historians only know Guru from evidences, sculptures and other books which can be wrong.
  11. Guru ji didnt marry more than once. That is just history crapy and false writings. Neither did Guru ji hunt, ate meat or anything. If u dont beleive go ask the Real Gursikhs
  12. I have dealth with mahayana and tibetian schools also. I dont like there ways. I say it honestly ! coz thats not the way to meet God. They have generalized God and have tried to bring Him under the different concepts and states of mind, which is not the way it works. All I know is that in this Kali Yug, nothing will be of help but Bhakti(Devotional Love to God). The rest is not going to work. Jin prem kiyo tin he prabh payio- Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Urj kriyo urjhio sabh he jag , sri bhagavan ko bhed na paio (The entire world is engrossed in useless rituals and ways, they have not found the secrets of God)--Guru Gobind Singh. A True path must deal directly with God, why go into the non-sense of diety worship and trying to empty your mind and a hundred man-made concepts like in Buddhism. Just bow to God and ask whatever you want and forget the rest ! Chan/Zen is so corrupt these days. More than half of the zen students make themselves Guru after 2 months and start calling themselves enlightened and these zen masters are full of pride, becoz they only experience those satoris and half-enlightenments and are not even able to reach nirvana. If you think sitting all day trying to empty your mind is going to help you is a big error !! Without the Satguru there is no enlightenment.. that is the core-factor !! Do buddhists believe in this? and this factor applies to every human being on earth. Study about Ramana Maharishi who was an advaitic hindu.. he also said the samething that without a Satguru there is no mukti ! no matter what and no matter even if u spend all u r life sitting zazen. Tibetian Buddhists do recognise this, but no zen buddhists to a certain extent. I read in some sutra that even Buddha said that pure land buddhism will be the last buddhism to rescue mortal beings from samsara and pure land buddhism is mainly aabout chanting the Name of Buddha. So as you can see. The rest of the Buddhism. I doubt very much that it still maintains its original flavor as it was taught by the Buddha. If you read the vedas or puranans, the prediction of the Buddha has been described as a avatar of vishnu who will come to delude the people who are envious of the faithful theist. In a way atheists are very attracted by Buddhism and in this way Buddhism helps people atheists bring a little bit closer to theism. So Buddhism serves its purpose for atheists.
  13. 1710 Banda Singh Bahadhur conquered Sirhind. Banda Singh Bahadhur conquered Sirhind and established a Sikh government. Baz Singh was appointed governer and Baba Ali Singh got Naibship (joint Governership). The Khalsa kesri flag was hoisted over Sirhind fort.
  14. heh Mine fell in D4. I was on the 14th. this is what it says This is true, becoz I have the goal of meeting God. Slightly true. I am an emotional person.. but my friends dont mean a lot to me I am short-tempered. I dont have any *Real* friends hehe thats vague.
  15. Yo Yo here comes the mughal men... big Jams in a Dam. They outnumber my fingers and they try to cut my head. I take my khanda out and I slice there head. Then they cut my head and I pick my head and keep it at Gur-charan... Yo Yo here comes the mughal men.. big jams in a dam. They are nasty, they are filthy , they are cruel. The take the singhini baby and throw them in the sky. I fire my gun shot and there hearts fail ! and those khans and those wazir die of heart attack by hearing my gun shot. Yo Yo here comes the mughal men.. big jams in a dam.
  16. HeyDudesWassup, You Dont need a Clear Mind to meditate on God. YOu Need LOVE to meditate on God. If you have a girlfriend and you love her so much, then see how your mind is always thinking of your girlfriend??? So leave all these clearmind boring stuff away.
  17. IDeal Singh or Baba Deep Singh, Most people who are intersted in Buddhism are westerners.. coz they need logic, reason and explanations... they need there mental curiosities to be satisifed.. Buddhists some how do that at a surface level, but deep down these things are of no use... You will see Buddhism spreading more in the west, like America and England than any other place.
  18. since this topic is on buddhism. It has brought my old memories back and I cant help posting in here. Yes, I have studied buddhism for over a year. I use to practice more of ch'an buddhism , often known as zen buddhism. On this subject I would just like to quote Guru Gobind Singh Ji when he said that you can keep sitting like a crane all day long in meditation trying to fool people. I dont know what Buddhism was in the past (During the times of Buddha). It has not impressed me much. There essential practice is only on meditation. A typical type of meditation is the zazen meditation.. aimed to empty the mind of thoughts.... ..... Belief in God doesnt exist in Buddhism and some people will come to you and say its okay to believe in God, but belief in God or anything else is considered a "mental" concept an imaginary concept of the mind. The aim of the Buddhist is to negate the mind of all these cocnepts and mental imaginations and reach a point of nothingness... which is not "this" nor "that" and stay there... or more like saying "just being as you are" The concept of "not this and not that" has been misunderstood. It only applies to God.. that God is neither this nor that.. God simply cant be pinpointed by our thinking or reasoning. So He is niether this nor that. In Jap Ji Sahib, Guru Nanak has pointed out that God can not be established nor created .. "thaapia na jai keeta na hoi" Many people are these days very much interested in Buddhism. Infact so much intersted that things like christain buddhists, muslim buddhists... have also started to come up. I hope there wont be any sikh buddhist. This strong inclincation towards Buddhism is only becoz of the rational reason it supplies for the non-existence of God, wihch somehow pleases the mind and satisifies the mental curiosities.. but these rational reasons dont come very handy when you go deep on walking the path. I use to sit long hours in meditation wit my legs aching.. and all those things. All I can now say is that if a person does no meditation, is totally no-virtuous.. but still has love for God in His heart .. then He is much head of all those buddhists sitting in meditation for long long hours. I am not so impressed by Buddhists, although some get very impressed becoz it deals with things in a so-called 'scientific' manner. Buddhists mainly negate all concepts... calling God a concept of mind. ... and in reality that thinking can make u MAD. In Biddhism, they think they know God and stuff & they tend to describe it all the time as if it was in their pocket. In this kali yug time there is no other path than the Name of God will come handy.. rest are all crap.
  19. KHALSA An example of the Khalsa way Below is an extract from the translation of the book by Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh, "Ranglai Sajjan" or "The Imbued Ones" The Incident At Ambala Railway Station Once I was going to meet the loved ones Sri Babu Mal Singh and Piara Singh Ji, who were in the Army at Ambala Cautt, along with the Jatha, including Bhai Sarwan Singh. They were being transferred to a remote place and we wanted to meet them before their departure at the cantonment. At the railway station all were self-occupied and Bhai Sarwan Singh got lost in his deep meditation while standing. It so happened, that he was standing outside a ticket issuing window, which was then closed and he stood alone. However, a train arrived and the tickets were to be issued to the passengers from that window. We were all set to march to the cantonment and unaware of this. There was a rush of passengers to buy tickets at the window blocked by Bhai Sarwan Singh. Shortly a police constable on duty arrived at the scene, but Bhai Sahib was unconcerned with the happenings and completely lost in himself. The policeman shook him a few times, but without an affect. In anger, he gave a full slap at the face of Bhai Sarwan Singh, and Bhai Sahib opened his eyes and the constable shouted, "Don’t you know the tickets are issued here. You have been repeatedly told to move away from this place, where standing is not allowed. Now this slap serves you right, as you would not listen otherwise." Just watch this now: Bhai Sarwan Singh was not at all disturbed due to the slap, instead he fell flat on the feet of the constable and apologised for his lapse. But as soon as Bhai Sahib touched his feet, the constable feel flat on his back and started wailing loudly, "O people! Help!! Please get me a pardon from this Sikh." Hearing this plea for help many people gathered there. Writhing painfully on ground was the constable shouting his pleas. When he was asked, What was his problem? He replied, "This Sikh is going to kill me." He was again asked what had hit him. The constable said, " He has not hit me, he has finished me. He has drawn all my power by falling on my feet. I don’t know what miracle he has performed. My salvation is only in his pardoning me." The constable explained how, unaware of Bhai Sahib’s meditational state, he had slapped the Sikh from blocking the window and the Sikh instead of remonstrating, had fallen on his feet to apologise for the mistake. On hearing this, one Christian remarked, "This is amazing. Our Lord Jesus has taught if a Christian is slapped, he should offer the other cheek to appease the angered person, yet this Sikh has fallen to the feet of the angered. What can be more amazing?" I addressed this person by telling him of the Gurbani teaching, "Farida! React not in anger to give a blow for blow, but instead kiss the feet of the aggressor before going home." A Hindu commented contemptuously that "This Sikh must have held the feet to escape further punishment. He should have taken a revenge on the constable, but being a weakling he submitted cowardly." Not to prolong the issue, we told him that he was entitled to his views. All of us including Bhai Sarwan Singh started marching towards the cantonment. It so happened that the Hindu Mahasha was also to go to the Sadar Bazaar in cantonment and followed us. Halfway on our journey, it was time for Rehras Paath. We washed ourselves at the nearby well and after Rehras we proceeded onward. There was cluster of trees and I felt the urge for natural call. Bhai Sarwan Singh and myself proceeded towards the trees, while he went far into the trees, I remained nearby. I had just finished washing myself, when I heard the cries of help of a woman. Bhai Sahib was closer to the sport of crying. He reached there immediately alone. He saw four drunken British policemen trying to gang-rape a poor girl, who had come to collect firewood. Instinctively Bhai Sarwan Singh snatched away their lances and gave all four such a thrashing, that they were all lying flat. He tied all of them and put them back in the tonga in which they had arrived. Meanwhile I also reached there. Seeing this, I called all our friends. The Hindu Mahasha was also with them and saw what had happened. He explained that it was the feat of just one brave Sikh. This Sikh had earlier set the example of extreme tolerance when slapped by a policeman, and a Christian was full of praise for him. But now when it was a rescue mission, he has displayed the bravery of laying flat four burly British policemen single handily. Hearing this, the Mahasha cried uncontrollably saying, "Khalsa Ji! Pardon me. I never knew the two distinct aspects of a Sikh personality of extreme tolerance and unparalleled bravery, but now I know that Singhs of Guru Gobind Singh are unique, endured with all virtues." Meanwhile the tied up British policemen were crying with pleas of forgiveness and with a promise never to repeat such an act. They wanted to know their fate after this tying. We replied, "You will be taken to your officers for due punishment." They said, they have already received enough bodily punishment. Our bodies are swollen and there are bruises due to the injuries. What more punishment can be given? Charge us five of Rs 50/- and forgive us." We told them to apologise to the poor girl and give the whole amount to her, with the promise never to repeat such a dastardly act. Finally we started our onward march, reciting Rehras on the way. This example of Bhai Sarwan Singh is just as a sample of the instincts of Divine Virtues in all the practising Sikhs, devoted to Nam-meditation. These are instilled them in full measure to execute the Divine Will. Bhai Sarwan Singh's life is a unique role model. For more such writings, visit www.akj.org
  20. by good deeds you only get fruit or reward for it, by bhakti you get to meet God Himself. What is good and bad actions? God Himself created good and bad and He Himself makes some ppl do bad actions and others good actions. We neednt worry so much about these things.. Doing bhakti is helping yourself which is the greatest good deed.
  21. People usually harass, so you have to say that before you post ! It happens all the time on discusson forums ...
  22. not so true. it is a very vague description
  23. I dislike when people bring up the thing called "sceince, science". it is a scientific religion.. bla .. bla. bl.a What is Science first of all? That which man can understand and comprehend with proof and facts is called science and that which he can not is labelled as myth, religion, mystery !!.. bla bla..bla as we can see science is just a man-made thing, a man's perception of the Universe created by God... and an illusionary understanding of it. The Mind is an illusion, your thinking is an illusion.. science is a complete illusion Its like in a dream u r driving a car and another person in the dream can explain why and why the car is working and how it travels.. but the one who has created the dream or is dreaming and created that person in that dream.. can not be understood by scientific evaluation and the person woh created the dream can change it so much that such that it will be out of the understanding of science. Science is one branch of maya.. and by maya you cant understand God. It is a man-made or a mind=made thing and a component of the human way of thinking. God and Religious things are above and beyond science or I will say it transcends science. As to the topic of reincarnation. I'd like to say.. Reincarnation exists and surprisingly I have heard of an amritdhari sikh who eats meat and says he will also eat humans and doesnt believe in in reincarnation coz it goes with the hindu-way of thinking. He is Khalistani !
