What Is Heaven- Khand?

This group will say this and that group will say that, in the end, they never agree. So stay away from these groups who claim to have the key, because they don't.

Heaven and Hell, like Guruka Singh said in his video, is a state of mind. You either live in LOVE or FEAR.

Check out this video.

I have heard from a few people that say Khand is an actual realm, like another universe. Some say it is the HERE and NOW and the choices we make give affect to the creation of that realm.

Jap Ji Sahib Ji talks of 5 Khands, the final one being Sach Khand or the realm of Truth, this is where the SOURCE, LORD GOD, CREATOR, ALLAH, WAHEGURU, ISHVARA is.

http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Five_Khands

Now are there 5 different physical realms. I don't know, because I have not first hand experienced them myself. If anybody here has, please SHARE.

In the end brother, the only way to find out for sure is to do it yourself, live in LOVE, do naam simran, live a honest living and help the needy.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is unique, because Guru Ji gives us first hand experiences of Bhagats, Fakirs, etc who have finished the game so to speak, merged with God, etc, whatever you want to call it. They done it through LOVE and Devotion.

you are given all the tools, its upto you to pick them up to use them.

Reading Reading and Reading will only get you so far.........

About the 7th heaven thing, that is a reference to the 7 layers of atmosphere around the Earth. Actually there are 5 main layers, two additional are called Ozone Layer and magnetosphere. (I think, need to check my brain again for that). BUT, there are more........

There are pre-islamic/christian/judaic/vedic records (older than 5000 years) which talk about the 7 layers.

AGAIN, what has this got to do with YOU and your GOAL.

the khands are different from heaven and hell. there are an uncountable number of heavens and hells. these are often in the forms of planets, some worlds are hell worlds, some are heaven.

this can change with kamai and prachaar. right now, earth is more of a hell world. when khalsa raj gets established it will become a heaven world.

i think that a lot of these worlds are in dharm khand. dharm khand is an immense immense region. there may be other heavens in the higher khands as well.

it is also, simultaneously, a state of mind. if you do enough kamai, your life will be heaven.

No, my response is from what I learned from reading Gurbani, from sakhi of Guru Nanak Sahib ji's discussion with Dastagir, and discussion with abhyaasi sikhs.

I think the dastagir sakhi is mentioned in Bhai Gurdass ji's vaars. Guru Nanak took the pir's son to see the various heavens and hells and brought back karah prashad as proof. This was in response to allegations of blasphemy as the Prophet had mentioned only seven heavens and seven hells, whereas Guru ji stated them to be an uncountable number in japji.

Although I agree with your original point. But Pir Dasgir's son was taken to other worlds in this universe like our own (earth) not different heavens and hells.

i think that there are entire planets which are heaven worlds, and others which are hell worlds. these exist in dharm khand. there are also heavens which are above dharm khand. I think the characteristic of something being a a heaven or a hell is that it is impermanent. One lives in heaven, and once the phall of their reward is used up, they reincarnate on a lower plane, such as Earth. The other characteristic is that heavens and hells are firmly within the chaurassi lakh joon. One who has attained mukti can escape the snares of heavens and hells. I don't recall which Gurbani tuks exactly back what I'm saying as I'm speaking from the understanding that I've developed over the years from Gurmat sources. Incidentally, this seems to be the same understanding of other eastern dharms such as buddh dharm and hindu matt.

Sikhs don't go to heaven when we die. From hearing katha over the years I've learned that in heaven more bhagti is required to match the attainment of just a small time spent in bhagti on earth. We are continually sent to earth until freed from our shackles by Guru ji.

As an interesting side note, in raj karega khalsa katha by sant hari singh ji randhawa wale, at around 45 minutes baba ji describes sant gurbachan singh ji's encounter with shaheed singhs such as Baba Deep Singh ji who reside in karam khand (due to having icha for further seva). But they are mukt, so I wouldn't describe this as heaven.

so the concept of heaven and hell, imo, is concrete at some levels, and very subjective and mind based at other levels.

your soul belongs to the guru. why would you be reborn into some other dharm? knowledge of past lives etc opens up automatically when it's time for it if we keep walking bhagti marga.

what i was saying is that christians die, get reborn in heaven, use their punns up, then get reborn on earth. accumulate spiritual merit again. die. get reborn in heaven. and so on.

sikhs don't go to heaven. this is the express route to enlightenment. no time is wasted on distractions like heavens etc. we keep taking janam here on earth as we get greater phall for less time here.

Krishna maharaj says (very similiar to what xylotol wrote above):

DESTINATION OF UNSUCCESSFUL YOGI

Arjuna said: The faithful who deviates from the path of meditation and fails to attain yogic perfection due to unsubdued mind — what is the destination of such a person, O Krishna? (6.37)

Do they not perish like a dispersing cloud, O Krishna, having lost both the heavenly and the worldly pleasures, supportless and bewildered on the path of Self-realization? (6.38)

O Krishna, only You are able to completely dispel this doubt of mine. Because there is none, other than You, who can dispel this doubt. (See also 15.15) (6.39)

Lord Krishna said: There is no destruction, O Arjuna, for a yogi either here or hereafter. A transcendentalist is never put to grief, My dear friend. (6.40)

The less evolved unsuccessful yogi is reborn in the house of the pious and prosperous after attaining heaven and living there for many years. The highly evolved unsuccessful yogi does not go to heaven, but is born in a spiritually advanced family. A birth like this is very difficult, indeed, to obtain in this world. (6.41-42)

There he or she regains the knowledge acquired in the previous life, and strives again to achieve perfection, O Arjuna. (6.43)

The unsuccessful yogi is instinctively carried towards God by virtue of the impressions of yogic practices of previous lives. Even the inquirer of yoga ¾ the union with God ¾ surpasses those who perform Vedic rituals. (6.44)

The yogi, who diligently strives, becomes completely free from all imperfections after gradually perfecting through many incarnations, and reaches the Supreme Abode. (6.45)
