Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Guru Roop Sangat Jeo,

With Guru Sahibs blessings attempt is being made to upload the complete Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Jee Steek by Pandit Narain Singh Ji Gyani. Gyani Ji's work is considered to be the best and it is most certainly the definitive Steek of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji available.

The Teeka is beautiful and concise, and contains both mool paath + meanings of difficult words. Its originally in 8 thick volumes, therefore it will take some time before all the text is digitsed.

Maharaj willing the text will initially be divided into files containing individual baanis, and once all the files are scanned what ill do is stitch them up into 1 file for easier access and reference gurprasad.

Anyway, here is the 1st part in this new series :) Sri Jaap Sahib Ji:

Read on Scribd: http://www.scribd.com/doc/50586115/Sri-Dasam-Granth-Sahib-Jee-Steek-Volume-1-Jaap-Sahib

PS: Please do not ask for download links jeo, consider buying the set instead if you find it useful! :) But feel free to embed on your blog/site etc!

Dhanvaad, and thanks for reading! :)

Gurfateh!

Thank you brother! God bless you for your seva.

A question for anyone who may have read them:

How does Pandir Narain's teeka on Jaap Sahib compare to Prof. Sahib Singh's?

Was reading the steek and noticed that chand/line[?] 31 went:

ਅਧੇਯ ਹੈਂ ॥ਅਭੇਯ ਹੈਂ ॥ਅਜੀਤ ਹੈਂ ॥ ਅਭੀਤ ਹੈਂ ॥੩੧॥

Whereas my DDT gutka and Drs. Jodh and Dharam Singh's English translation spells it thus:

ਅਧੇ ਹੈਂ ॥ ਅਭੇ ਹੈਂ ॥ ਅਜੀਤ ਹੈਂ ॥ ਅਭੀਤ ਹੈਂ ॥੩੧॥

Any ideas about the discrepancy? Is it a printing typo?

I noticed another difference with a gutka at the Gurdwara where a "ਣ" had been replaced by a "ਨ". Do slightly different versions of Jaap Sahib exist?

Bhai Sahib, thanks for your seva. Truly commendable. Please permit downloads because such texts are not readily available even within india, leave aside overseas. For instance this set is not available even in Delhi. Printing downloads - which is what you want to avoid - are more expensive if you consider paper, binding and shelf space so all those who are interested in hard copies will buy the texts from the publisher (who is the only one who makes money out of them - the author as you know does not get anything). Having the downloaded version on your pc means you are not internet reliant everytime you have to access this or similar text. Thank you for your consideration and acceptance. Best wishes

The letters is the first part you have written are different but the word is pronounced the same.

And yes different versions of Guru Dasam Bani have different letters. This is mainly down to copying from different birs, as not all the Dasam Birs are exactlly the same in terms of banis contained.

Ive had Pandit Narain Singhs steeks for a few years now, but havent got round to reading them. I am in awe of anybody who has read one, never mind both teeka's and compared them.
