Astrology in Sikhism

Below is an excerpt from Sri Sooraj Prakash Granth. Sri Satguru jee (Sixth Master) had summoned an Astrologer to determine the auspicious date for the marriage of his daughter (Mata Veero jee).

          ਸੌਚ ਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਧਾਨ ਕੋ ਠਾਨਾ। 
          ਦਿਨਕਰ ਅੁਦੈ ਅੁਠੇ ਭਗਵਾਨਾ। 
          ਬੈਠਿ ਦਿਵਾਨ ਲਗਾਯੋ ਸਾਰਾ। 
          ਦੈਵਗ੨ ਦਿਜ ਕੋ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਹਕਾਰਾ ॥੧੦॥ 
          ਕਹਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਸੁਧਵਾਵਨਿ ਠਾਨਾ*। 
          ਜੋਤਿਸ਼ਿ ਕੋ ਗਿਨ ਬਿਜ਼ਪ੍ਰ ਮਹਾਨਾ। 
          ਕੰਨਾਂ ਬੀਰੋ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਧਾਵਾ। 
          ਸਾਧੂ ਬਾਲਕ ਕੋ ਸਮੁਝਾਵਾ ॥੧੧॥ 
          ਗ੍ਰੈਹ ਨਿਛਜ਼ਤ੍ਰ ਸੋਧੇ ਦਿਜ ਸਾਰੇ। 
          ਪੁਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੋਣ ਬਾਕ ਅੁਚਾਰੇ। 
          ਜੇਸ਼ਟ ਕੀ ਛਬੀਸਵੀ ਮਾਂਹਿ।  
          ਭਲੋ ਲਗਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਭਾ ਤਾਂਹਿ ॥੧੨॥

Guru Gobind Singh Ji in Akal Ustat - 29

ਪੂਛਤਨਜੋਤਕਅਉਬੇਦਥਿਤਿਵਾਰਕਛੁ॥ਗ੍ਰਿਹਅਉਨਖਤ੍ਰਕੀਨਸੰਕਾਉਰਧਾਰੀਹੈ॥
poochhat na jotak aau bedh thit vaar kachhu|| gireh aau nakhatr kee na sa(n)kaa auradhaaree hai ||
The Sikh who places his faith in the refuge of one True Guru, does not depend upon astrology or the command of Vedas, nor does he bring any doubt about the auspiciousness of a day/date or constellation of stars/planets to his mind. 

Bhai Gurdaas Ji in Vaaran 

So it's part of the way the story of Maya.. Khel is told, but it's not something we consult for auspicious days is what Gurmat seems to say directly.

The thing is, the position of the stars is also dependent by each individual´s karmas. I believe that, that apart from Guru Jee, as nobody has access to the sum amount of karmas, thus only THEY know, that all that happens or will happen, is by His Hukum,  nobody can alter the law which governs equally on all, without favoring or inflicting any harm or injustice just by themselves,  thus the true astrologers can only somehow by the position of the stars have a general idea of the fate of an individual, that´s it.

The teachings of Guru Sahiban are truly very noble, high and pure, thus perfect from any angle.

For the sikh, the Guru is His devotion, and His transcendental Lord, and as he has placed his head on the Lotus Feet of Guru Jee, he knows that Guru Jee bieng his Lord, is also his benefactor and protector as a mother and a father, thus nothing can come to him, which is not approved by Him.

Such strong is the blessed faith and love in the sikh for Him.

The Guru/Waheguru, is the only eternal and  true shining Star as none, among all stars, galaxies, universes or even Khands.

Wah wah Waheguru, sabh teree wadeeayee.

Gurbani is 100% crystal clear that astro scammers, tea leave readers, palm readers, tarot card readers, etc, etc in short all astrology need to be avoided as falsehood.
