When her appointment was announced it was reported she had been offered £270,648 plus benefits, which was the same her predecessor, Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe. However, she turned this down opting to be paid £40,000 less at £230,000 a year.

The Met Police Federation has declared it has "no faith" in Sadiq Khan after the "very public ousting" of Dame Cressida Dick as commissioner.

She resigned from the role on Thursday over the mayor of London's lack of confidence in her plans for reform.

More than 31,000 rank-and-file officers are represented by the Met Police Federation.

Chairman Ken Marsh warned that the atmosphere among Met Police officers was at "rock bottom".

Writing in the Observer on Sunday, Mr Khan said he was "deeply concerned" public trust in the force had been "shattered". He said the next commissioner needed to make things change quickly.

In response to the Met Police Federation's comments, Mr Khan said he stood by his views, insisting it was his job to "stand up for Londoners".

Mr Marsh said that remarks made by the mayor had "undermined the professional, dedicated and incredibly difficult work of tens of thousands of hard-working and brave police officers from across the capital".

"We have let the mayor's office know in no uncertain terms how our brave and diligent colleagues deserve better," Mr Marsh said.

"Officers in London feel saddened and angry that the commissioner, Cressida Dick, has been pushed out in the way she has.

"She was reforming. She was changing. The culture is changing.

"We are deeply disappointed with the actions of the mayor."

Dame Cressida's resignation followed a series of crises engulfing the Met Police, including cases of sexism and misogyny among some officers.

Last week, the police watchdog found "disgraceful" examples of bullying and sexual harassment at Charing Cross police station in central London.

Here, I have to give it up to Khan for sticking up for the people against the police.

Why? Because they been exposed for what they are? How about how all the people who've experienced their racism at street level feelings? What about the thousands of girls who've been groomed whilst it was these guys job to protect them?

What about the feelings all the ethnic police men and women who joined the force only to face systemic racism on a continual basis.

The police should feel ashamed of themselves.

Rules changes in 2014 allow ministers to appoint a foreign police officer to the commissioner role and the job will be advertised internationally, with the Home Office expected to approach the embassies of the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia within days.

The above is really interesting.

Why would anyone in their right mind from there want to walk into this quagmire? I don't think their experience in Scandinavia would prepare them for this.

We have to be very careful bro with what we say online.

The chances are very high that this site and SS are being watched by Intelligence agencies.

Of course they are. No one is suggesting any illegal activity here. Go within the law. You're lucky that you have more open laws regarding certain issues out there.

Make use of that freedom, or just stay quiet about all this bro. If you're just sitting around physically inactive, stuffing your face just be quiet bro.

We don't really have a lot of freedom over here too. It might be an illusion.

But, you are right. I should keep my mouth shut before the Police pay me a visit again. They have already been here two times.

Say no more.

Priti Patel pulls rug from under Sadiq Khan with new rule to diminish London Mayor's power

PRITI PATEL has pulled the rug from under Sadiq Khan by introducing a new rule to diminish the London Mayor's power.

11:48, Tue, Feb 15, 2022 | UPDATED: 11:48, Tue, Feb 15, 2022

The new law would make it more difficult for Mr Khan to fire or suspend any future police chief constables. The law would cover the potential dismissal of the Metropolitan Police Commissioner. This comes just a few days after Mr Khan forced Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick's resignation, after making it clear he had no confidence in her plans to reform the force.

However, the rule change has been in the pipeline since before Dame Cressida's resignation. It is thought that her resignation may accelerate the changes.

The legal change would prevent police and crime commissioners (PCCs) - the role held by Mr Khan in London - from dismissing chief constables as a result of political or personal reasons.

Speaking about the changes, a government source said: "At the moment, the PCC can hire and fire at will.
