g_singh Posted February 4, 2005 Report Share Posted February 4, 2005 In terms of proper Raags, Bhai Balbir Singh Ji is amazing, but their are many other proper Raagis whom are also brilliant. In terms of shabads which are not in their actual raags, i would have to say Professor Darshan Singh Ji's keertan is most captivating. The voice & style of Bhaiji is untoucheable and it seems that Gurmat Ras is coming from heaven, when Bhaiji performs Keertan. I am sure he is the number 1 raagi, who performs keertan as per greatest Gurmat Tradition and Gurbani Sangeet Praacheen Prampra. Fateh. tSingh Posted February 22, 2005 Report Share Posted February 22, 2005 I agree 100% with chinderpal singh, I met his elderly sister in Beneras this summer who lives at a Nirmala sanskrit vidyala there. Although he has few recordings of note, whenever I catch him on etc punjabi live from darbar sahib he is always incredible, and sometimes accompanied with a tanpura. He is blessed by guru ji, blessed to bless others with gurbani.
