You do not hold Sri Jaap Sahib, Sr Chaupai Sahib and Sri Tva Prasaad Savaiye Sahib on par with SSGGSJ. So why would you take amrit, which is made by reciting those Gurbanis?
    Bhul chuk maaf
In the past, people have even doubted Bhagat Bani, which is part of SSGGSJ.
If you listen to cultists, there is no doubt that they will confuse you.

    Bro, that's a good point.

Even 3 Gurbanis, which are used in amrit ceremony, are from Sri Dasam Granth Sahib jee. If you don't consider them as guru-roop, then you should not believe in Amrit Sanchaar then.

So  you  don't  uunderstand punjabi.  That  means  you haven't  even  looked  at  the  points  in  the  video.  There are SRM people  on  the  other side of the debate.  Even  they  are  having  a respectful  discussion.  You  have  not  even  asked for  a translation.  You and pappiman saw  SRM and Panj Pyare.  And  spiraled this discussion into that same argument.

you're right. ....This is funny. ...because it was supposed to be!
I was attempting to highlight the current state of affairs when it came to caste by playing on a very common and very well known (though I guess not that well known! ) stereotype.
.....its no fun when you have to explain your own jokes.

Weren't Jatts all simple farmers?? Why would a simple farmer be seen as the best? LOL That's funny (looking as an outsider and if we are talking about traditional careers - why would an artisan like carpenter which takes actual talent, be seen as less than a farmer?? If it's about land ownership, trades now days rake in far more income than farmers do, unless it's large scale mechanized farming and even then, farming is not rocket science....)
Anyway, who cares what someone's career is when talking about their status or worth?  Want to get rid of this stigma? Stop using former surnames and refuse to talk about your family's traditional caste when asked.  Be Singh or Kaur only...

We have serious animosity amongst ourselves, mainly (from what I can see)  based on egoic pride over caste and/or wealth/status. I've grown up and live in a multicultural society; I can use my eyes and ears and make comparisons:
You have to admit that compared to a lot of cultures/faiths our people are often very contemptuous of each other. We aren't a warm, open accepting community. I've seen uncountable people converting to Islam over the years. I've seen a few people converting to Buddhism too.
I think we do insularity like idiots, we are insular along caste lines between ourselves - but at the same time arse-lick outsiders like we have an inferiority complex and are desperate of acceptance. Other people seem to have much more heart felt warmth towards their own, they protect and perceive members of their own community in a positive light. We'll sell our own out in a minute.
Straight up, we all have basic needs as humans of acceptance and belonging to a group we feel positive about - this is what other communities offer that attract people from our community to convert.

We've let hypocrisy, greed, bullshit and petty regional politics define us now. Who is really surprised when someone from an alcohol fueled 'sardar' family converts or a daughter runs of with some soft, easily controllable gora? Who is really surprised when someone from a so-called 'low-caste' community leaves to join a community that doesn't treat them like second rate scum! Who is truly shocked when someone leaves, disgusted at the petty, corrupt and often violent bullshit that  emanates from many gurdwara committees?
    I ain't.

There;s already several differing Rehats.... Now if you also exclude anyone not following the same one you do Paapiman (which I know you do) that brings who you consider 'actual sikhs' down to an abysmal minority that you make sound like an exclusive 'club'.  You can keep your exclusive club. I'd rather be part of a Sikhi that has potential to spread around the world and change people's spiritual lives.

Exactly Paji. The sakhi is a fake story. It does not align with what Gurmat teaches us and should be considered as an anti-Sikh sakhi interjected by anti-Sikh forces to weaken the Sikh Panth. kdsingh80 rightfully exposed this false sakhi before others might fall for it. All material which does not align with Gurmat should be exposed and discarded if we are to progress.
Amongst the bravest of the brave our Panth has produced were Bhai Jiwan Singh Ji (that our Hindu and Muslims opponents abused and despised when Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib Ji was initially constructed as in Hindu and Muslim eyes, Bhai Jiwan Singh Ji was a Bihari choora) and leader of the Sikh Fauj (at Guru Sahib's behest) Shaheed Bhai Sangat Singh who again the Muslims (and the Mughal's Hindu allies) despised as they could not countenance that the Sikh Fauj was being led by what anti-Sikh forces thought of as a degraded chamar.
Sikhs nowadays fail to recognise that the Ramgarhia misl had around 90% of its fighters from a non-tarkhan background with the Khalsa warriors in that misl hailing from diverse former backgrounds including Brahmins, Leatherworkers, Rajputs, Mazhabi's, Jatts, Weavers, Saini's, Water Carriers etc all uniting as equals and assigning Jathedari to the most qualified general amongst them (Bhai Jassa Singh).
Also instead of bandying about the word brahminwaad so often we should educate more and more Punjabi and non-Punjabi Brahmins as to the bravery of our beloved Sikh shaheeds like Bhai Mati Das and Bhai Sati Das.
The only relevance caste should have to us as Sikhs is that should violently despise it as a label and oppose it's use amongst our ranks but nevertheless utilise it's appeal to draw in new Sikhs to the Panth from particularly Hindu backgrounds.

No in fact it does Paapi man.
Those paapi's like yourself that drink, smoke, eat meat, use drugs, cut their hair are actually the vast overwhelming majority of the Punjab population and an even greater percentage of the India population more generally. You wish to exclude and alienate all those that do not mirror your own beliefs as non-Sikhs. The Hindutva forces that oppose Sikhs are delighted by your viewpoint as they mop up every person that you wish to exclude from Sikhi and include them within the Hindu fold. The result being that the Hindutva political base strengthens whilst the Sikh Panth suffers as time goes on.
So Sikhs have already been reduced from a 100million plus population that we could have been today down to arguably only1.8% of the Indian population if we include sehajdhari Punjabi-speaking Sikhs. What you propose is to reduce this 1.8% further to 0.18% (only those 10% that keep kes) so that democratically and politically the Sikh Panth has zero power to defend itself from any Genocide and nor have any ability to serve the poor and downtrodden for Sarbat da Bhala. As 0.18% equates to 1 in every 555 people which is powerless minority which will never hold any democratic sway or influence.
You need to understand that only by growing the Sikh Panth's population to a critical mass can we best defend ourself from events like 1947 and 1984 and only by having a larger population of the wider Sikh Panth will an enlarged Khalsa Panth population emerge in order to do seva in Punjab, India and worldwide to prevent genocides like Rwanda, to combat Ebola outbreaks, to assist after earthquakes and other natural disasters. By having an enlarge Sikh Panth population which accepts anybody who bows down before Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj as a Sikh, you yourself as a paapi are not prevented from following the beliefs you paapi currently hold.

Dalsingh let's face it the glory days of sooormeh khalsa is long gone. People are scared, scared to get in trouble with the law or if their wife finds out. I believe there are tons of coward amritdharis, disgusting. If you can't defend yourself or others you have no right to wear a kirpan that's worse as an attacker may take the blade and use it against you. The worst paap is to let someone take your own shastar and use it against you, beisti di gal.

We are all equal in the eyes of maharaj, we are one panth. stop trying to segregate us!!!!

The other day I went to the guru ghar to do some seva. I was cutting up veg(as chefs do) and this freshie joined me. We got talking while doing langhar seva and he said tera caste ki. Quite frankly I was shocked, never have I been asked in the guru ghar what caste I belong to. I assumed he was a jatt, turns out I was right.

It got me thinking though are our people that fixTed on caste? Why does it matter so much to some people?

Real talk jaikaara. I know plently of high castes so called jatts and tharkhans who find it funny to make fun of chooreh chumar. However they happily talk and eat with khans and other sulleh but with a choora no way would they sit and eat with them.
Jatts and tharkhans arent even high cazte...they are the same level.
