    GURU'S LOVE FOR HIS SIKHS

Last few days as Maghi Sangrad happened we were revised of 40 Mukte. It was so heart touching to see how much Guru Ji loved his Sikhs.

    https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=573874730123507&id=373092366868412

Here's a Hindu story on how much lord loves his devotees. I found it worth sharing

Once Narada entered Vaikuntha and greeted Sriman Narayan. The Lord welcomed Narada and asked about his well-being.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Vishnu questioned “Narada! What do you think is the greatest among the Panchattatvas, the five elements? Is it the sky, wind, land, fire or water?”.

Narada thought for a while and replied “I feel it's the earth, the land. Because she alone bears the entire weight of beings!”.

Vishnu narrowed his eyes and said “How come it's the land, when three-fourths of the earth alone consist of water?”.

Narada thought and nodded slowly and admitted that water is the greatest.

Then Vishnu said “How come water is the greatest when the great sage Agastya was able to gulp all of it down into his stomach?”.

Narada scratched his head and ran his fingers over the strings of his Veena. “Hmm, then Agastya is the greatest?”.

Vishnu smirked and said “But Agastya is just a star in the sky. There are umpteen stars in the sky!”.

Narada widened his eyes and admitted “True. The sky is infinite and hence the greatest!”.

Vishnu cleared his throat and threw a challenging look at Narada. He said “But Oh Narada! With just three strides, the sky, earth and nether regions have been brought under my jurisdiction. Then who's the greatest?”.

Narada popped out his tongue in realisation of his mistake and said “Oh Lord! I apologise. Indeed it's you who is the greatest!”.

Vishnu then stood up and told Narada “Then imagine about that Devotee Narada, who has given refuge to this Vishnu inside his heart! With his prema-pasha, the noose of love, he has installed me in his heart and captured me there, which gives the greatest joy to me. Then who's the greatest Narada?!”.

Tears rolled down the eyes of Narada and he said “It's your devotees Lord!” after prostrating in front of the Lord.

The Unconquerable One suddenly becomes conquered by the love of his devotees like Yashoda and Gopikas.

The One without a beginning or end assumes a birth to give delight to his beloved ones and makes everyone overwhelmed on his departure. The devotees weep on his birth. They weep on his departure.

The One who is the master of all riches suddenly begins to aspire for the little amount of flat rice that has been brought by the poor Sudama, or the already tasted berries of Shabari.

The One who makes the three worlds dance on his one gaze suddenly enters the ranga-bhumi, and begins to dance on the whims of his beloved devotees, like a puppet attached by the chords of love.

The One who has no arrival, or departure, suddenly arrives on the request of his devotees like Prahlada or Meera.

The One who is free from all debts willingly entangles himself in the karmic debt to entertain his devotees, and cherish their emotions.

The Complete Man, suddenly becomes a woman to honor the antics of his female friends.

The One who has no hunger cries inconsolably when his mothers appears out of sight.

The One who is transcendental and is always satisfied in his own self, cries in his own joy of satisfaction on being fed with the milk.

The One for whom no work is described, takes on his catapult and breaks the pots of Gopikas, thus making them caressed with love when they are drenched from head to toe.

The One who has the entire opulence of the universe, who has the choicest of mansions to live, still chooses to reside in t he heart of his devotee.

If this isn’t compassion, then it isn’t really compassion what you’re seeking for!

@Guru da Singh Veer ji its really sad what you are experiencing as its not a small quick fix problem.

You could try to be a good role model as that i hope will help convince your wife that gurmat principles rehit is the best.

You could also do ardas and ask Waheguru Guru Sahib Ji to bless your wife for gursikh jeevan which Guru Sahib Ji will help.

You can try to get some literature writtings on Guru Sahibs, Mahapursh jeevanis that will help inspire her into adopting gursikh jeevan.

Here are a few relevant tracks i searched which i hope will help as it relates to this thread. I will add more when i find relevant tracks related to this thread

  5. Sat Sri Akaal everyone

I was a bit confused on this topic above. Yesterday I called my mom after a while and during our general conversation she asked me ' if I am doing waheguru simran. I confirmed yes n whilst talking she somehow told me that '. 'unhaanu jhalkare pende hann'. saying that she got so awkward asbif she has revealed such a top secret that she may be punished for it. She did not speak to me further as I tried to question her and handed over the phone to Dad. I wanted to ask a lot of things.. What did she mean when she said ' jhalkare' ? Is she getting amrit Rass but ..

I was left in awe. i mean my own mom, and she's hiding it from ME ? Is that a rule in bhakti? Shall I call her again to talk about it? It seems she won't but I am her child so can insist so shall I? Please advice wise people.

This has affected me really, I have been thinking about it all the time

  7. Hey Sat Sri Akaal all

Thanks so much @Sat1176 and @DeNiro. Shukar hai u all are here. No wonder why SGGS emphasise bso much on satsangat. Will surely work upon this, I understand wat u say @DeNiro ji but u know its human nature to get to know what's my train's next station, to be curious and i feel if I know what's in store for me next , I may get more motivated.

By the way why did u choose  username de Niro? It's not related to gurmat.. Then this taxi driver flick seems older than most of us were born. The kind of person u sound ,there must be a reason if not story .. Would u like to share?

Very good demonstration that i was pleased to see.

The above "core-self" is a very good place to sit your surti .  Highly recommended when trying to get deeper into naad.

🙏 Thank you for this one.  It is  more clear than any of the previous ones for a ' niyaana' like me.  Thanks.   now i may find my steps 👣 further.

And this has confused me even further...

For me its not naada. Just these sounds

Which @Sat1176 ji said was sehaj dhun.. I am on my way with this sound. Last time I was told not to concentrate on it as its just starting. People hear vaaja,/ shankh ,tabla etc.. Now this video says to listen to these or that I am not 'in love' that is why I am not able to listen? Phir main ki karaa  ? Confused head again.   please help!

  9. This link works very well.... very clear.... . Though isn't it skeptical.. I mean how can a ghost talk plus get recorded too.. and its a proper interview? . not with Babaji, he's talking to the sangat. There are so many terms that he uses that are as per gurmat. He talks mainly about the importance of Guru and keep on praising Baba Isher Singh ji.. Above everyone else, though if he's that old he may have had the Darshan of 10 Gurus themselves. .. Yeah but hukam of Akaal is more important.. so strange is the game... life , still doubts are a part of my head I guess!

  10. Thank u so much dost ❤️🙏

Yes u r right in getting reminded of the sakhi above. ( it was not just any Sikh ) it was Guru RAMDAS Sahib himself before becoming Guru ( as Bhai Jettha ji) who bought ripe mangoes for Guru Amardas Sahib ji but had to eat them himself remembering his Guru.

But yes got the point.. As they say it's all about jin prem kiyo whatever way that may be expressed...

    Thanks again.

You are quite welcome. It is good to resolve doubts.

Surat simply refers to awareness, in this context, as per my understanding. The awareness of doing what pleases god is the surat referred to here. I.e. trying to do things that you believe will please God. This could be anything as long as your awareness is aimed at pleasing God through your actions.

    O that makes it easy.

I heard a Hindu story months ago where a bhagat used to sit near a river and did bhagti all in his thoughts...  in his thoughts he used to cook for 'Ram ji', bring flowers made garlands and so on. While he's busy sitting near the river all the day, his farms used to bear bountiful crops whereas his brother's farm- instead of working hard couldn't bear good crops...

So he being jealous came to his brother near the river and kicked him hard . at that time his brother was cooking kheer for his Lord in the ' surat' , the brothers' feet thus got badly burnt.

But that's NOT as per Gurmat .. Right?? I mean serving your LOrd  in Surat

"Neti, neti" comes from "na iti, na iti" which translates to 'not this, not this'. Thus, an attempt to understand Brahman (God) through identifying what he is not. Sunn samadhi, as explained in the video is when one transcends this notion of "neti, neti" as one realises all is Brahman. This is when the sense of "I am", therefore ego, is eradicated. This results in coming out of trigunn maya as the ego is dissolved.

As for the pankti above, it is saying that, serve with the awareness that: only that is approved which pleases the Lord. Thus, know that the actions which are pleasing to God as worthwhile.

Funny story, just a few days ago I was wondering 'what is it that makes a good action good and a bad action bad?' As they are both created by God, then why is one considered 'good' and another 'bad'? Then as I was listening to Tva Prasad Swaiye, it struck me... The translation said "the Great Giver looks daily at our flaws but does not stop providing (even when annoyed at our evil deeds)". This implies that evil deeds are something which is not pleasing to God. Therefore, good deeds please the Lord. It all made sense... Even though nothing is 'good' or 'bad' (advait), during the initial stages one should do 'good' deeds in order to please God. This is why each religion is bound by rules, despite the fact that all is the same due to one source.

A variant of this is used by Guru ji in the first chand of Jaap Sahib:

    ਤਿ੍ਭਵਣ ਮਹੀਪ ਸੁਰ ਨਰ ਅਸੁਰ ਨੇਤ ਨੇਤ ਬਨ ਤਿ੍ਣ ਕਹਤ ॥

Thank u so much. That makes sense.

Just one more thing?? ( m sorry if I am being unreasonable) how do I serve 'him' with 'Surat'?? Does it refer to Jaap/ reciting baani quietly in surat?

And will u be kind enough to explain this pankti below

ang 88

Nanak seva Surat kamaavni Jo Jar bhaave so thaae paae.
