  1. Started but struggling to do at fixed time. Taking about 30 mins for one 108 mala of Mool Mantar, doing about 2 malas daily. Getting better in crossed leg position and focusing in between the eye brows. Feeling focused in dark, so I close the blinds or use thick shawl to cover my head and eyes if seeing the light. If i am doing it very slowly by listening with ears and translating the meaning in my brain or heart then i get lost in my thoughts. May be because it is the beginning! If I am doing it faster in my mind, then it helps me to concentrate and i could go on autopilot for naam jaap for an hour. It is giving me good feeling even though i am not translating its meanings. I am doing jaap mostly at one place and I feel my body goes in jaap mode when I sit there with my mala. Next step is to set up a place on floor with cushion to sit on, facing east charda paasa and having little water next to me. I couldn't do jaap on the day I shaved my arms, feeling guilty and thinking I must start wearing full sleeves like Muslim girls. Repeated actions build up habit and doing mool mantar repeatedly would be the only way to go ahead on my spiritual journey.
  2. @Trimandeep Singh may I know what would be your reaction if your wife would grow beard? Apologies for asking this, just wanted to know. If I would grow beard in future when I would be Amritdhari or in higher Sikhi spiritual state, then I would accept it happily. If it would be a issue at work or community, then to make things easy for my family I would probably move to area with higher population of Sikhs. Bhul Chuk Maaf
  3. @Iamgupt I am assuming you are a basic level Amritdhari sikh (apologies as i have seen gursikh who are either just got Amrit or not practicing Sikhism) and others who have responded to your question belongs to higher Sikhism spiritual state. I don't think any Amritdhari sanstha or group would offer you any allowance. The other groups like radha swami would be fine to accept you but i don't think amritdhari bibi would like to join them. In terms of medical condition, i couldn't think of any medicine or treatment which could help you without doing kesh katal kurehat. Is this bibi young teenager? Has she contacted doctor for PCOS poly cystic ovary disease ? Is she having any other hormonal issue? If yes, then it could be managed and treatment plus her body response could possibly result in less hair growth in future. There is one cream available in uk vaniqa. Vaniqa contains the active ingredient eflornithine. Eflornithine works within the hair follicle and helps to block production of the hair shaft. This helps to reduce the rate of hair growth. In trials it has shown a significant improvement in the unwanted facial hair of 70% of women. There are more cosmetic creams available which would deprive the hair growth by restricting nutrients. All this would be considered KUREHET. @Trimandeep Singh has answered it very correctly based on Sikhism. I am personally doing this kurehat, BUT I am saihajdhari sikh. I am preparing myself for spiritual awakening and trying to read/ learn Gurbani and sikh history. When I would be ready for Amrit, then it would be full stop to this kurehat. This is the only kurehet I do, i think.
  4. I have noticed doctors are advising high risk ( diabetes, cholesterol, BP, overweight, heart problems other illnesses ) patients to take aspirin 75mg daily during covid infection and after covid vaccine, in case they are not taking aspirin as their regular medicine. Aspirin is an anti-platelet and interferes in the initial blood clotting process.
  5. @Arsh1469 Thank you very much, Very simple explanation in plain English. Just noticed that you have read the explanation in Punjabi and translated in English here. Thank You Look forward for the next post.
  6. I don't think this forum is the right place to advertise Astrologer... We are practicing Sikhism & Spirituality here and focusing on The Great Almighty God.
  7. The lady 'Bebe' is at higher spiritual state. Has anybody heard of Kanwar Grewal's Bebe Manjit Kaur near Malerkotla? This video is from Rara Sahib Samagam. She sounds more like a bhagat like the great MiraBai.
  8. Just read this book, amazing, very simple and brief.
  9. @Ragmaala May I know what do you mean by 'do not watch if you have no kavach around you'
  10. just watched this video, reminded me of one baba who was doing something similar in Punjab. He was a jatt Sikh, truck driver by occupation but one Muslim spirit blocked his truck and asked him to do similar things to the other spirits. He kept on refusing to leave his occupation and the spirit continue to cause problems to him. Finally he gave up his truck business, build one room in his house for his Islamic rituals, started chaownki on Thursdays and start helping people who were troubled by spirits. I myself have attended and it is eye opening. Most of us have heard about Suleman, his explanation for this ghost/spirit's world, 1000 years of living as a spirit and so on. First, I was thinking it is make up story by uneducated people but It is all real. I have come across
  11. injured my hand, so resting at home and good time to start spiritual timetable. Today trying to spend time reading spiritual books, listening to Waheguru Waheguru Channel etc. to concentrate mind but it seems like bit hard doing Gurmantar malas. Trying to push myself to kick start, beginning is the most difficult.
  12. I could never do one mala of mool mantar in 7-10 mins, would take me good over an hour for one 108 mala.
  13. I would like to start and would post soon. it is nice if you have company
  14. May I know how are you keeping the count especially if you are doing while walking, doing something else etc. Are you using mala or fingers or app?
  15. Very good example for other to follow, I am going through stressful time and would try to start something similar. May be initial target of 1100 would be good!
  16. same principle as the regular winter flu vaccine. It took over a decade (10-12 years) to discover a new medicine for any disease but the scientists have used the same principle here as for other antiviral vaccines. It is very possible that we would need a booster jab every winter for protecting us against covid. I am advising everyone to have a Pfizer vaccine.
  17. There are few blood clot cases associated with Astra vaccine but having the vaccine is far safer than having covid. I am a pharmacist in UK and had Pfizer vaccine, so far Pfizer has fewer side-effects and better safety profile. I would encourage everyone to have the covid vaccine, strains are constantly changing and better to be safe than sorry. Covid causes more blood clots than the vaccine itself.
  18. Only once it happened that I spent one night in spiritual divine jaap , neither i was asleep nor awake, neither I was dreaming nor thinking, don't know what was going on that night, very peaceful night and the next morning. I feel very blessed that night. That week i was reading Baba MahaHarnaam Singh Ji's biography 'Se Kanahiye' in the evenings and felt the magic. I was japping naam in the free time and completely lost reading the book, listening to gurbani in the car and had that magical experience.
  19. HI You could contact Bhai Mohan Singh Ji from Sikh awareness society. He is recently in talk shows and raising awareness on topics like sexual abuse, domestic violence or grooming etc. I am sure he would be able to help you or direct you on the right path.
  20. Came to this discussion page via other topic page, as a mother of teenage sons it would help me understand my sons' future problems. We do talk about most of the things as I belong to a medical profession, but these real life issues never came to my mind. Thank you for sharing. Hope you have recovered from this problem now or at least in control!
  21. i havent attended any protest physically, but i am actively participating on twitter, insta and you tube. Doing hashtags on twitter doing tea-breaks and lunchbreak. I have also donated money to khalsa aid who are actively helping out farmers there.
  22. Don't want to say anything wrong, but i think he means that only knowledge of gurbani is like nothing. We have so many granthis, lecturers in uni, organisations' presidents, SGPC members etc, they all have knowledge but they don't practice naam or gurbani, and I won't hesitate to say that they don't believe 100% what they know. I have learnt how to practice naam but I don't do it, and instead carry on sleeping late in the morning. Does my knowledge means everything ? would it take me anywhere ? No. I do love gurbani, and it is the love which would help me reach the spirituality heights. It is the guilt in my heart which would mean anything to Waheguru. I do fight everyday to come over my obstacles, I win, I lose, but carry on rolling in the hope that one day... For example, a student doing PhD in gurbani would not become a saint. One has to put 100% faith in guru's baani and practice/appreciate/love/adore day/night. Bhul chuk Maaf, but I think I understand what he means!
  23. I wish you very good luck on this sikhi spiritual path. May all your dreams come true and you get the most out of this human life.
