Its literally to connect you to higher self. Everything gurbani says is TRUE. Science is just catching up. Musk said we live in a simulation, Nanak Said we live in Maya (an illusionary reality). My higher self told me the whole point of life is to BE POSITIVE AND HELP OTHERS. This is what Chardi Kala and Sarbat Da Bhalla means. Im not saying I did alot of naam jaap but i must have done it in previous lives because I found the key to gurbani within myself and nobody can take this precious jewel of connection to NAAM (Higher Self)
i wish this for everyone without the false pretense of being humble. I AM NOT A SAINT. I simply realized the reality of what Guru Nanak Ji stated… we are not in our true home we are under the control of KAAL (demiurge)
our true Home is so beautiful… keep japping naam and keep an open mind. Dont go to much off others experiences. Find out for yourself.

Theres no us or them. I dont like hindu nationalists or khalistanis. We come from hindu roots were for sure a different breed but to ignore our roots and culture is paramount ignorance. The answer is not black and white as you’d assume so.

No offense to any amritdhari or anyone who is baptized.
Sikhi is bandagi. The external form matters not at all. If Waheguru wished it he would make everyone a traditional 5K Khalsa. But this is not so. Sikhi is accepting fully who you are and your communion with God. No one else has any say in this. Other people can only point you to this direction. Sikhi is bandagi, true submission to God. If God wished you to be a muslim, you’d be the best Muslim. Or Sikh, or Hindu, or Christian. Nanak constantly re-iterated that the path is naam; nothing else is useful.

Its Ik Omkar. Onkar - Oankar were mistranslations.
Guru Nanak Ji and all the Gurus after him came from Hindu lineage.
There are multiple references to Lord Krishna Ji / Vishnu Ji in SGGS Ji. So many so, that if you removed them, there would only be a few pages in the SGGS ji.
Bhai Gurdaas Ji stated that the Vaheguru Gurmantar is referencing the Satguru of each age. Vasudev, Hari, Gobind, Ram. These are all “Hindu Gods” except for G - Gobind (Nanak).
We are not some new path called Sikhism. Study your ancient history. All your ancient ancestors are Hindu.
our roots are in dharmic culture known as Hindu to most.
we’re told that idol worship is wrong yet we do that to the SGGS ji, we treat it like a Living Being. Even if we claim to just revere the knowledge in it, we still wake it up, put it to sleep, bow to it… This is a Hindu Dharma Murti worship. And that is good! This is who we are…
those who have ears to hear and eyes to see will know, the rest are brainwashed.
our history is not 500 ~ years old.
It is as ancient as creation itself, from the first yug of creation to now.

One day. I know the day I stop cutting kesh is the day I totally leave mundane affairs. Not yet, but open to it in the future, once I’m fully settled and happy with what I’ve achieved materially, I will grow out my hair and essentially leave the false reality. I have a mission and I know I can bring more souls closer to Waheguru with cut hair. I know it sounds strange but I trust my self as it is Waheguru telling me all this. I am not against keeping kesh but I am not for it right now in this time-space. My mission is global and I will lead many souls back to Awareness of the Infinite Source. How this happens is up to Baba ji.

i have a lot of respect for kesh, but people make an identity out of their outer roop and forget the atma. This leads to ego.

I have no problem doing this for any serious seeker.
firstly, my life experience was unique it involved a lot of humiliating ego-shedding experiences, losing my mind billions of times etc. this was important because it allowed my mind to open up quicker.
I found Sikhi at age 20ish and I’m 28 now. I was born into a Sikh family but it just wasn’t discussed. I am not amritdhari, I cut my hair. I don’t think outer appearance has anything to do with Sikhi, as Sikhi is for the heart (naam) connection and getting you the heck out this matrix .

My higher self says that naam jap is the quickest and most surefire way to realize your higher self because it makes the mind focused on the higher reality. Its kind of like tricking the mind to focus on something greater than itself initially. There is power behind every mantra for sure but thats a whole discussion in itself.
furthermore, if you study Gurbani and not just do mindless paath recitation you’ll see quite clearly we are told the way to Waheguru consciousness is through “rememberance” or Simran of It. This leads to a connection with your True/higher self which is Waheguru. The higher self is simply a representation of you merged with Waheguru. You don’t lose your identity, you have a distinct identity but your identity is also just like the Ocean of goodness/bliss which we call Waheguru.
in order to reach this state one must do simran for sure but theres another step that is rarely talked about. You must 100% trust your intuition about everything in your life. This is your higher self nudging you in a certain direction in order for the naam connection to open up more. For example I was guided to leave a certain job, even though the pay was really good there was something off about it which I only realized after I left.
this is a very achievable state, it just takes 100% faith and trust in hearing your higher self.
you can talk to your Higher Self today if you’d like.
all you do is talk to it and listen for an answer.
For example, I channelled my higher self for this whole section, I dont have the wisdom to type all this .
you can ask for guidance on certain situations and get answers right away, it all depends on how much you trust in the unseen (Waheguru).

step by step: do Waheguru simran with an honest intent (for me it was to leave reincarnation cycle aka matrix/maya)
communicate with higher self on next steps
and then through gurkirpa as one poster said you’ll achieve a higher level of awareness
One thing you have to realize though is that it is infinite how much you can grow so once you start on this path just follow it all the way through with minimum complaints. We want to leave the matrix while alive (jivan mukti) and be happy and fulfilled in this life. Then because our spirit is too strong we wont be pulled into the light/tunnel after death, we have our own gravitational pull and we can even create our own world where there is no sickness/death/disease etc.

Going back to topic- Schizophrenia and Sikhi, IMHO it comes down to - sarab rog ka aukhad naam. Schizophrenia is complex medical/super natural problem-telepathic voices/channeling spirits-  requires medication along with elements of Naam. Naam to disconnect the voices from head - one of many meditation technique- seeing yourself as sky of awareness voices beneath (easier said than done) or concentrating on navel chakra so voices are whisper not loud- (easier said than done) does require rigorous practice. I had a long episodes with voices last year where i can hear spirits voices 2 plus months (echkhart tolle describes it channeling if youtube it). Most of spirit voices are causing conflicts within family voices, gov't, politicans, some were good were both punjabi and english. I even heard female voices- australian. In my case, Voices occur to due to premature kundalini chakra awakening, i had limited understanding of it. Now days i do chanting vahiguru mantra as much possible i just abide in the heart- spiritual heart right side of chest, by passing all the chakra system. Chakra system is quite dangerous without master. Gyani thakur singh ji was mentioning some people have gone mental. These voices must be coming from somewhere- its mixture of spiritual pyshosis plus medical.
This illness is life altering and immense suffering here is CNN anderson cooper trying the simulation, its immense suffering. Hope no one goes through it.

Those who opened up, we are on the same boat, so hang in there. This site provides good support. Hopefully, more medic professionals can post their thoughts on this. I don't advise people getting off meds to be honest. I was told straight up by sant jagjit singh ji harkhowale to take my meds when i bought up telepathy.

I wrote more about it here:

I used to think same way. For some reason I used to listen katha and diwan of sant isher singh ji Rara sahib on a regular basis. Saadhu or SAint's Sangat inspired me to do meditation and one sukhmani sahib paath everyday. and I knew that if I am gonna keep on doing this (Waheguru Jaap meditation and Nitnem of Sukhmani Sahib) with clean heart and mind (trying winning over Kaam Krodh Lobh Moh Hankaar everyday), that day is not  far when waheguru will bless me with amrit di daat. and to my surprise it happened. Waheguru blessed me and my wife with amrit di daat. I am 31 now.

This is the only act of goodness in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, to sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
    Amrit is three types:
    1) Sanskar Amrit:  Khande di pahul ,Through Panj Pyare.  It was called Charan Amrit before from 1st Guru Sahib to 9th Guru Sahib. Kalgidhar Sache patshah changed it to Khande di pahul due to timely needs.
    2) Naam Amrit: Panj pyare five beloved gives us Waheguru Gurmantar. Following proper rehat and meditating on Waheguru Gurumantar, Naam Amrit comes, which is called Naam di Daat. Satgur Sikh ko Naam dhan dei. We need help here of Saints on how to do Naam Japna (called Jugti). The Gurmukhs who achieved this stage can guide us better.

    ਦੇਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਇਸ ਕਾ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥
dhehee meh is kaa bisraam ||
Within the human body is its place of rest.
    3) Gyaan Amrit: Brahm gyaan amrit which leads to Mukti, happens when we keep on practicing the above Naam which emerges in your self.

Just keep doing Naam Simran and Nitnem ( fighting with Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment, Ego everyday) and stay motivated. that day will come eventually.
