  1. sorry, didn't see pheena's question before, but I dont think it is available in pdf. But you could probably order it online from www.sacha-sauda.ca. I'm pretty sure its only like $3, if it isn't listed you could probaly give them a call and order it.
  2. "Kam, Krodh, Lobh, Moh and Ahankar are the five thieves in a being. How come those have increased up to 1825? " "It sounds like it is the Kamraa (room) number 1825." In times like this, I believe it is best to quote Javanmard: LOL LOOL LOOOL LOOOOL LOOOOOL LOOOOOOL
  3. This book is full of great quotes... "...And others issue other kind of mad dictates, numerous foolish do's and dont's. One considers a particular diet religious and other irreligious. A Babel is created. Confusion worse confounded. Man dies like a drunkard, a hopeless fanatic without attaining any inner merit, all his life believing that he was over-religious."
  4. I've heard a lot of good things about "spirit Born People" b Prof. Puran Singh, so I decided to pick it up today and have a look. One quote I found fascinating was: "Beware of the magic of brahmanical philosophic analysis of everything, even the most secret and complex infinites of faith, life and love. It killed them, it shall kill you. Analysis is the opposite pole of feeling. I worship my mother, I love my wife, but what would they be if I wished to know them by analysis !" Anyone want to share their thoughts on this quote?
  5. http://www.ragmalagurbanihai.info/ really good website, includes pictures and katha by Baba Mohan Singh bhindranwale
  6. i listened to a bunch of it yesterday, it was really good. http://www.maskeensahib.com/index.php?p=p_35
  7. will do, but now that I think about it, I shouldn't ruin this thread so i'll send u stuff over pm. And if you don't recall making generelisations it could be that i took some stuff the wrong way, and if this is the case I apologize, but I'll pm you soon.
  8. as much as you complain about Sikhs being over-paranoid and having hinduphobia (which I agree with for the most part, you also over generalise about the state of Sikhs today, especially when you talk about sikhs that have no sampardayee connection. Not every 'mainstream' Sikh is a missionary, and you shouldn't conclude that they are.
  9. i got a buddha dal sundar gutka from one of the bookstores outside darbar sahib, but this was 2 years ago. Cant remember what number store it was, but I'm sure if you ask around you'll have no problem finding it.
  10. just listened to the recordings, they were really good, but I do have a question. Not sure if Baba ji answered this during the discussion, but during a parlo he said that the jeevs that haven't become mukt or leen with nirgun saroop remain within maya, but what happens to these jeevs during a maha parlo? He said that there is only nirgun saroop after a maha parlo, so am I correct in assuming that all jeevs become leen in akaal purkh during a maha parlo, and hence also become mukt?
  11. you can find people to teach larrevaar santhiya all over the world. There are multiple places to learn from in the Toronto area as well as in B.C. and I'm assuming in England as well. If you can't find an ustaad you can just download the Sant Gurbachan Singh katha and follow along with a pothi and learn paath like that. By listening to the person that reads the bani you can learn vishraams, jhamkees, adhaks, bindis and tipees, and you can also look at Gurbani paath darpan for adhaks, vishraams and jhamkees. Its not the same thing as an ustaad, but its better than nothing. When it comes down to it, the most important things when it comes to shudh paath is to know muharni well and know the arth. When you know the arth it becomes alot easier to put in jhamkees, vishraams and adhaks.
  12. Interesting, I never knew that Bhai Pinderpal Singh studied at Taksal. I agree with Chatanga, that katha of bani done by Gyani Pinderpal Singh can be hard to listen to at times, especially after you have listened to Sant Gurbachan Singh's and Sant Kartaar Singh's katha. It just doesn't compare to that standard of katha, and isn't done in the same style. However, I can't think of any other present kathavachak that does ithihaasik katha as well as BHai Pinderpal Singh. The katha he does on history is just something else. "Guru Gobind Singh Ji but again Bhai Pinderpal does not talk about this. " It isnt that Bhai Pinderpal Singh doesn't talk about this, he explicitly says that it wasnt said by Guru Gobind Singh Jee.
  13. I don't know if Neo or Kam answered your questions yet or not, but what i Know about Gyani Pinderpal Singh is that they originally learned from missionary college. This is interesting because the katha that they do now really doesn't correlate well with missionary mat (eg. they believe it is important to do Sangat or mahapursh, they show lots of respect to puraatan sampardas like Taksal, sevapanthis, Rara Sahib, they quote from Dasam dee bani). I heard one time in Gyani Takhur Singh's katha that Gyani Pinderpal Singh has also done sangat of mahapursh (he didn't say which one) and learned alot from the mahapursh, and has done a lot of bhagti and seva as a result. When Gyani Pinderpl Singh came to Toronto a couple years ago I've been told that they would clean the bhandey used for making langar ever morning before the other gurdwara people would wakeup.
  14. I think what it comes down to is how Sikh children are taught at an early age. All those gurmat camps and retreats that parents force their kids to go to just stuff the 'this is bahmanvaad, Sikhs don't do that, rituals are bad" propoganda down their throats. Having never understood gurbani nor having ever learned from Mahaprukhs, the kids internalize this and thus when they first start trying to learn about Sikhi they are shocked. They never imagined so many references to devtae€, they never thought that Sikhi is beyond socially constructed rules, etc. I think as the people that made the above comments learn about sikhi their thinking will start to transform by itself.
  15. i mite not agree with the title given by Master Jaswant Singh, but there is no doubt that that the prevalence of padchhed saroops, as well as the lack of true paathis is a major problem. I guess the best way to counteract it would be for concerned individuals to learn how to do paath from larrevaar saroops.
  16. shaheediyan, the baarh maahaa u requested has been uploaded. I split it into 4 parts, all of it is pretty good (except one raagi really messes up the ucharan at a couple spots), but I especially reccomend the Bhai narinder singh part.
  17. try using keepvid.com, I havent used it but i think it should work, but you might need an flv player to play the file after downloading I used to use video downloader but it doesn't seem to work anymore.
  18. added mittar pyare noo by bhai balbir singh, accompanied by bhai baldeep singh on jori, and also a shabad done by bhai gurcharan singh who was a student of jawaddi taksal.
  19. http://www.4shared.com/dir/2464074/581d4995/sharing.html I know this isn't up to the standard of Kam's uploads, however, I have a bunch of keertan on my computer that I thought should be put on the internet so I decided to share it on 4shared.com Right now, because of my bad internet connection, I don't have many things shared, but I'll continuously update it. Right now the folder contains 1) Bhai Narinder Singh doing a couple shabads 2) Artee in raag dhanasree As I share more things I'll post them in this thread.
  20. oh, I thought he said according to adhyatmik arth and uthankaa it isn't. if i misunderstood, my bad.
  21. http://www.4shared.com/file/19532081/a725e...utti_day_3.html thats the first file i'll get the baarh maahaa up as son as i can, my internet and 4shared just arent cooperating right now, so if anyone knows a place I can upload a 120mb file, it would be great.
  22. Neo, Please explain how satnaam is not a kirtam naam, I cannot see how it is not from what I have been taught. Also, in regards to sampardas giving updesh to do jaap of satnaam or ik oankaar, I see no problem with this at all. Maharaj never said there is anything wrong with doing that, instead they said 'karam naam barnat sumat'. But regardless, I still believe that satnaam here refers to vaahiguroo mantar, in the same way that it means vaahiguroo when bhai gurdaas jee says 'namaskaar gurdev ko, satnaam jis mantar suniya' I listened to katha of Sant Jarnail Singh that he talks about this and he says there is nothing wrong with japping damodar, raam, beethula, etc., and we shouldnt do any shanka on them as they will cut our paap. However, as a Sikh we should understand that these are kirtam naam and it is hukam for us to jap satnaam mantar of vaahiguroo.
