if you can find a budha dal sundar gutka. it has the rehit maryada right at the start, it's actually pretty easy to understand and if you have some trouble understanding it the easiest thing to do would probably be to either ask a friend, or even your parents to translate it for you. It's not very lenghty and wouldn't take much time to do.

The fact of the matter is that no one on this forum knows 100% what happened with the killing of baljit kaur, and if anyone thinks that it was ordered or even suggested by Sant Jarnail Singh, they should go talk to someone that was actually there and find out the true story. Also, who says there wasn't any condemnation? Since when is everything public knowledge?

can you please list some names of people that are considered shaheeds and some information that you have against them? people like Parmar, although I don't know much about him, aren't really held in high esteem by people in the Toronto area that were around in the 80's. I dont know about other places in Canada, but atleast in Toronto i havent heard too many people refer to him as shaheed...people understand there is too much controversy around him. And the pictures you speak about...I assume you are talking about the ones at Dixie. The pictures I can think of from the top of my head...Jathedar Gurdev SIngh Kaunke, Sant Jarnail Singh, Bhai Amrik Singh, Satwant Singh and Beant Singh and Avtar Singh Brahma...there are probably a couple pictures of Sukhdev Singh and Anokh Singh there too. Personally, I can't think of anything against any of these Sikhs..,maybe I'm just ignorant? I have never heard of people glorifying people that decided to kill people for personal motive - these types of people are the ones blamed by Sikhs for ruining the movement. The fact that some uninformed youngsters today started glorifying Parmar shouldnt be held against the wider Sikh community...if anything we are starting to see the effects of eSikhi.

Why would you close the shia thread? Unless either of the 2 parties in the debate wanted it closed, it should have stayed open. You let Javanmard speak his, for lack of a better word, crap for 10 pages. Now that someone decides to debate with him and the truth starts coming out you close the topic. If anything, all this shows me is the crazy bias on this forum. correct me if I'm wrong, but I am under the impression that a Sikh can't really question Guru Sahib. A sikh's mind should tell them 'Gur Parmesar eko jaan', and thus questioning an action of Guru Sahib is like questioning hukam of akaal purkh. and about the part of lies...by my interpretation it was Guru sahibs desire in this circumstance to give Sikhya to Sikhs. The next day when the true story of the incident was told, everyone learned the truth, so really is this a lie? Lets look at another situation in parallel. When Bhai Ghanaya presented himself infront of Guru Gobind Singh Jee, Guru Sahib, being ghat ghat ke antar kee janat, already knew the question they were about to ask - why did you give the enemy soldier's water. However, Guru Sahib still asked this question because sikhya needed to be given to the other Sikhs. If the first situation is considered a lie, shouldn't this situation also be considered dishonest?

guru gobind singh jee used to keep a singh with them that used to have the duty of writing a daily journal. On the way to hazoor sahib it was bhai alam singh, but singhs got into some 'rukus' on the way with moghuls and bhai alam singh attained shaheedi. THe duty was then given to another singh that continued the seva until guru gobind singh jee left their body. In this journal it is written 'nanak naam chardi kalaa..." and "sabh sikhan ko hukam hai guru manio granth", the head guy at hazor sahib (forgot his name) has this journal is his possession to this day and gives darshan to some people when requested.
