  1. Pujari ji, I didn't make any recordings but people like Gyani Gurdev Singh Ji are easy enough to get in touch with in Southall, so things can easily be verified. As far as general Nihang beliefs vs Niddar Singh's beliefs are concerned, again Baba Surjeet Singh Ji and Baba Joginder Singh Ji can be easily contacted to set things straight. Infact, one of Niddar SIngh Ji's ex-students did post some recordings of Buddha Dal Mahapurkhs that refuted most of the claims made on the sites in question - think it was Kamalroop Singh, but it's been a long time. If MahaSingh ji has the recordings, then he should put them up. They are directed towards the webmaster of his sites. I've actually asked Niddar Singh about this before, now I'm 4000 miles away so it's not that easy. Controversy sells. P.S. Anyone know who first brought doubts about Sikhi into the minds of Harjit Lakhan, Bini, Kam etc?
  2. There are some quotes attributed to Gyani Gurdev Singh Ji which he says he didn't make. A few others as well - went to the trouble of finding some of the Babas some years ago(when these things mattered to me) during trips to Raqba etc and they said the same. Will make a list when I have the time/inclination, but to be honest, I've realised we have bigger things to worry about. Do the sites still state that Bhai Niddar Singh is Jathedar of Buddha Dal in the UK and does Niddar Singh still say he has no control over the site content?
  3. Bibi Santosh Kaur Ji (Bhorasahib, Hapur) and Baba Nirmal Singh Ji Rerusahibwale are also in Leicester at the moment, don't have details though can find out their program if anyone wants to meet them.
  4. how can Singhs in India not react to the beadbi of Guru Sahib's saroops?! To call ourselves 'laadli-faujan' and do nothing when our Guru is thrown in wells etc is disgusting

  5. Mera Tan Mun Hoe Nihal Jab Gur Dekha Sahmne

  6. Could be wrong, but I think the oldest saroop at Sri Hazur Sahib has 1430 Angs.
  7. Dalsingh, it depends if you want to invest (long term) or trade to make quick cash. What're you thinking of?
  8. Not just the SGPC, I think it's an Indian/ pendu thing because the same is being done at Gurudwara Mata Sahib Devan in Nanded that is definitely not run by the SGPC, it's under control of a Nihang Dal. They probably mean well, but the general ethos in India these days is that 'new is better', even if 'new' means bathroom tiles.
  9. The funniest bit is when you meet the people they allegedly recorded and they flat out contradict what is on the site. No such thing as bad publicity.......
  10. janam diyan vadhaiyan!

  11. What were you looking for when you found that article?!!!
  12. Topic's run its course. Bass karo.
  13. Viah is a shortened form of the full word which is 'vivah'. Puratan Itihaas tells us that Guru Nanak Sahib took laavan around a Pothi Sahib of Gurbani (my mind fails me, could have been just JapJi Sahib - will have to find time to look through some granths). This tradition continued until Adi Granth Sahib Ji was given by Guru Arjan Sahib, and later Guru Graanth Sahib Ji. Many Sikh families have Hindu ancestry, even going back just a couple of generations. This explains why some rituals carried over like going round fire etc. Things got really mixed up during the raaj of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji and the period of turmoil just after. Too much maya does weird things to apney. Anand Sahib is called that because it brings Anand, not because it is to be used during happy occasions. Anand Karaj is called that because, well you know how apney love weddings.
  14. Jes. I was looking for a Singhni who truly loved Guru Ji and hence rehat etc. I would say that 99% of 'Amritdharis' I was introduced to did beadbi of Kesh (mostly eyebrows), didn't wear all5 Kakkars, lapsed in Nitnem etc. Maybe just a sign of the times.
  15. World is truly a tamasha! Some people want to get married and can't find rishtey, i didn't want to get married and had rishtey coming at me left right and centre. You'd be amazed at what some people consider to be 'practising Amritdhari', lol. At the end of the day, it's in Guru Ji's hands. Even the poeple we see on the streets are seen due to the game of sanjog that is pre-written.
  16. They're doing it from their heart? just guessing
  17. You should start doing Akhand Paath duties. After a few rauls where nobody comes to relieve you, three hours will seem like nothing.
  18. I had a cup of tea after two years, a few months ago. Brought out the sweats, and I could feel my heartbeat accelerate as the caffeine kicked in. Couldn't work, let alone meditate. It's funny, there was a time when I had to drive lond distance late at night most days and I lived off Red Bull and the other 'energy' drink in a can that looks like a beer can - relentless? Anyway, it reached a point they had no effect on me. Went back to spraying my face with water to stay awake.
  19. Amazing how the foolish actions of a handful of people overshadow the peaceful actions of the vast majority who attended. With josh, we also need hosh - think clearly. Also heard that Sikh Channel have handed over footage to the cops, the traitors, or are they?
  20. Thanks for the ideas. What about playing a recording of Waheguru Jaap and just listening to it? Which reminds me, anyone have links to a nice, slow recording of Waheguru Jaap?
  21. The BBC did a program on the history of Israel, there were some clips there. In fact, some of the history text books we used at school had photos of Palestinians giving flowers to newly arrived Jewish refugees. Just last week, US President Obama mentioned the 1961 borders vs todays borders. This prompted some newspapers to show just how much land Israel has taken unfairly.
  22. Read up on the history of Israel. Just a note: many Sikhs have helped, and continue to help wherever there are problems in the world. Most choose to stay gupt though. If you want to help, let me know. If you want to discuss Palestine further, please open a new topic.
  23. That's nonsense. That land was taken from them unfairly. After WW2, Palestinians actually welcomed Jews very warmly, they had no idea what was to come. That's missing the point. It's a question of justice, and what is right. Look harder! Also, Guru Sahib taught us to fight for justice and for oppressed people, no matter what their religion. I'm guessing you're in India, from what I've seen of Indian media and their anti-Muslim bias, it isn't your fault. The very essence of a 'sant-sipahi' is to fight for Dharm and to do the right thing even if it means giving your life. Nowadays, we are stuck in our comfort zones and 'can't be bovvered'.
