  1. Which rehat which rehat? Send me the link to the rehat you follow, or perhaps rehitnamas? Which dal do the panj pyarai belong to? On SS they love attacking all sorts of peoples with different beliefs, including jatts, hindus, nihang singhs, meat eaters etc ; you could join them and join in the fun! Of course, but some people think they are superior because a) they think they're better because they do not believe in caste or they think sikhs are superior and other people like non-amritdharis or hindus are inferior/impure/infidels! And I am sure there's a difference between a guy showing his chest and a woman? That's a nice paragraph, unfortunately I cannot take anyone seriously if he/she uses SGPC as a source of sikhi lol
  2. Oh did I touch a nerve? You'd probably be more at home on sikhsangat.com with all the jatt hating insecure clowns!
  3. Yes but at least chamars aren't aggressive in preaching against sikhs cultures/castes/tribes. The people that are aggressive in anti caste preaching also have their own gurdwaras and also special paghs. (Hint, its not Singh Sabha gurdwara, but its usually the other gurdwara in a town/city)
  4. try this thing if you don't like the dish: http://www.watchindia.tv/?utm_source=specialoffer&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=freestb
  5. Well some sikh backgrounds (I know about Afghani bhapas, are they khatris?) believe in cousin marriage anyway. Perhaps by forgetting surnames and castes we can assimilate all the tribal/caste dharam/cultures into one set of culture/dharam where cousin marriages are normal?????????????? Of course that would also make me feel like a Mughal emperor, assimilation yummy Hail Hitler?
  6. Well actually I am sikh, which is a disciple as opposed to Sikh with a capital S which stretches it to the world major religion meaning. Of course if I cannot be a jatt following the Guru, then you are welcome to kick me out of Gurdwara Sahib when I try and do Matha Tek right? Or you could write to Akal Takht, there must be more things to do? Is there a punishment for a jatt to follow Guru Sahib? (Do they take jatts to Chandi Chowk and behead them if they refuse to accept a religion and forsake jatt culture/dharam?) If Guru ji has problem with us being jatts, Guru ji will sort us out, you don't need to stress yourself, there are better things to do in the panth. As if Dharam Raj or Jamdhoot or whoever else cares if I call myself jatt, sikh, jatt sikh, gursikh or the King of the Pirates? IF you don't like jatt sikhs then run off back to SS site! Have some multicultural variety in your life, otherwise just wear a Burkha and live in Taliban occupied Afghanistan territories, you will probably love the monoculturalism, no caste, just one religion and one caste; Allah Hu Akbar! Well you see Singhs wore pugh but at same time might not have covered the whole body, but men aren;t meant to be modest; so do these sikhnis in turban not believe in the indian cultural modesty? So its more about turban and less about dharam? Forget the cultural dharam and just wear turban anyway? In my eyes, when I see a woman wear pugh I expect to see it worn for same reason chunni would be worn. I have no idea what is going through modern sikh kuris heads! I need to get married very very soon but I feel like running away from these kuris...
  7. You can get the other 3 sikh channels without subscription, but not Alpha. Alternate way to subscribe to Alpha is probably one of these online subscription sites, I believe there is one site called Watch India.
  8. A little facial hair on the round or below the ears may add character to a female. Just not a beard, its just too manlike, and definitely a moustache. I live in a fantasy world where women don't cut their hair and quite often wear chunnis/dupattas, the bhangra dance teams bring it all back to me, I thirst for just a little bit of modesty from modern sikh female youth ( and scary half naked aunty jis) oh well... ... hmm I just remembered something, there's these sikh girls that show their shoulders off but for some reason think its necessary to cover their head with a turban. Do you understand that at all, because I don't? hmmm
  9. Not keeping hair just darhi for women. I personally think keeping hair is a punjabi/indian thing for women anyway, but a beard for women, not so sure... ah most of those men at cinema are probably freshies anyway, so that doesn't count lol
  10. I dunno what they want, do you? Perhaps the Amritdhari men just don't find some of the jatha maryada rules for the bibiyan to be a part of dharam? Jatha and caste issues I think It was always like this, not just now... Will the facial hair bibiyan force their jatha rules on me? might affect my diet too!!! Maybe they should just go join the dals, like a proper amrit dhari, forget marriage, just become a full time khalsa soldier. Are you sure its Guru Gobind Singh's rehit, I always keep thinking female facial hair thing is jatha/jathebandi thing. And don't blame men for bollywood movies, its the women that watch them... Awww, I guess they don;t have the purataan thinking for you; welcome brother to post-Victorian era, where you can have one woman at one time, but many women over a lifetime (and without marriage) You see people have used a loophole by just making multiple girlfriends. But you are not allowed to be married to do this, oh dear...
  11. hey its upto to decide the sources, I have no idea which source is true or false, I just posted up some quotes that is all...
  12. What; they come under sehajdhari sikh; plus they existed before Khalsa fuaj creation. So would you call other sampradaiye like udasis as not being sikhs? What about Baba Sri Chand and the udasi orders which Guru sahibs had much respect for!?
  13. Ok, I have read some things on here http://www.sarbloh.info/htmls/article_samparda_kartar.html http://www.sarbloh.info/htmls/article_samparda_bhindra.html here are some quotes with sources to back them up: ‘Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed-----Till now in their Missal the leaders that have succeeded each other one after another and their companion Sikhs -------. The present Jathedar is Baba Kundan Singh.’ ‘Gurmat Rehit Maryada’, Baba Gurbachan Singh Khalsa ‘Bhindrawaley’, Pa.129 ‘To carry the distortion further, the Bhindrawaley Taksal now claims to be the spiritual descendants of ‘Damdami Taksal’ (Spiritual lineage of interpreters of Adi Guru Granth) of Baba Dip Singh, although all the followers of Baba Dip Singh and Baba Gurbaksh Singh died to the last man for the sanctity of the Golden Temple. They left no successor. Sant Sundar Singh founder of Bhindrawaley Taksal was student of Sant Gulab Singh, a Nirmala Saint and actually belonged to the Amritsali Taksal. I had the opportunity to meet Sant Inder Singh, brother of Sant Sundar Singh many times and got first-hand material about the Saints life from Sant Gurbachan Singh. Sant Inder Singh died at the age of 104.’ ‘The Turban And Sword Of Sikhs, Prof.Trilochan Singh, Pa.390 ‘Before Bhindranwalla Jatha, the ‘Taksal’ (school) of Dam Dama had numerous branches teaching to understand Sikh scripture. They did not serve in any way less [than Samparda Bhindra].’ ‘Amrit Jiwan’, by Dr Sher Singh Giani, Appendix Pa.230 ‘This Dam Dami Taksal - this ‘Dam Damas’ name they [Chokh Mehta] say. That they have just attached that name to themselves. Dam Dami Taksal’s master was Baba Deep Singh Shaheed. Baba Gurbachan Singh himself employed his [baba Deep Singh’s] great name because he himself was a Nihang Singh always alert. He had lived in the ‘Dal Panth’ (Budha Dal) amongst Nihangs. He had said: “Lets call it [samparda Bhindra] Dam Dami Taksal there where Maharaj created the Guru Granth”.’ Nihang Baba Mehr Singh, transcript of interview, Summer 2003 ‘This Dam Dami Taksal - this ‘Dam Damas’ name they [Chokh Mehta] say. He had said: “Lets call it [samparda Bhindra] Dam Dami Taksal there where Maharaj created the Guru Granth”.’ Nihang Baba Mehr Singh, transcript of interview, Summer 2003 Nihang Niddar Singh: “I have been unable to find any references to Dam Dami Taksal in any ancient texts. In British records there are only references to Akali Nihangs, Udasis and Nirmalas only. Do they [Dam Dami Taksal] not exist?” Piara Singh Padam: “Taksal has no special mention. They were ‘Gupt’ (hidden].” ‘Listen to the story of Gurbakhsh Singh Nihang and learn. Attained well did he martyrdom at Amritsar. He was a Nihang and a great warrior. Wore he blue dress and kept the conduct well. Waking in the morning he drank Sukha. Becoming intoxicated he brushed his teeth.’ ‘Pracheen Panth Prakash’, 1832, Expurgated by Vir Singh, Pa.414 ‘Listening [to coming of Afghans] the Singhs got ready weapons and chain mail they adorned on body. Chatka goats, they drunk goblets of opium and Sukha, Gurbakhsh Singh was the groom others the wedding party.’ ‘Naveen Panth Prakash’, Giani Gian Singh Nirmala, 1899, Bhasha Vibhag, Pa.928 ‘Q:Sant Gurbachan Singh was initiated into the Khalsa at Budha Dal? A:Yes. Q:What was his ‘Maryada’ (tradition)? A: His ‘Maryada’ - at first he drank ‘Sukha Sukhnidan’ (a protein drink laced with cannabis – a favourite amongst all Nihang Singhs). Even when he stayed with Sant Sundar Singh, he ground ‘Sukha’ because he was used to this in the ‘Dal’ (ie, the Budha Dal). He fully respected the ‘Dal’ it was not otherwise. Sant [Gurbachan Singh] was a very good poet what ever sermon was given in morning [by Baba Sundar Singh Ji] he use to by evening turn it into poetry and read it translating it to the Sant who was greatly pleased by this. The Sukha etc……. Meat he had already given up on coming to Sant Sundar Singh - because from there [budha Dal], he had come over here [samparda Bhindra]. ‘Sukha’ he then gave up when he attained responsibility of leadership.’ Giani Gurdev Singh, transcript of interview on October 2001 ‘Q: Did Sant Gurbachan Singh accept the traditions of the Nihang Singhs that they have come from the beginning? A: Yes absolutely. Giani Gurdev Singh, transcript of interview on November 2001 ‘He [baba Gurbachan Singh] never said that you don’t eat meat. They use to say it is the Panth’s traditions [to eat Chatka] but giving wisdom use to explain that, “Oh revered one by eating that which causes pain to body and the mind fills with vice is ruin.” [translation of a quote Guru Adi Durbar], understand because your eating habits have effect on your spiritual state. How is your food - so is your mind….. He said it is not an absolute rule that you do not eat meat. Eat but when there is need for it for instance in battle you are fighting at that time in battle you cannot get anything else to eat. At that time to eat meat is not a sin because then you are to sacrifice your own life.’ Giani Gurdev Singh, transcript of interview on October 2001 ‘They [Chowk Mehta] just make it all up [referring to the lineage to extending to Akali Nihang Baba Deep Singh]. Jarnail Singh did not get the turban of succession. The turban was given to Mohan Singh. He was given the turban. There [bhindra], four villages heads gathered, at that time at present I do not know, at that they said who ever those four village heads accepted as worthy of the succession turban they bound it upon him. At that time, the ‘Dera’ [the Bhindra temple complex] was run by Mohan Singh. He [Kartar Singh], did not even stay in the Dera. He was very ‘Krody’ (aggressive/argumentative) in nature even though he was the student of the same teacher [as Baba Mohan Singh, ie. Baba Gurbachan Singh].’ Akali Nihang Baba Anoop Singh, transcript of interview on 1/4/2004
  14. Hinduism is a term introduced by British Raaj when British introcued the concept of religion to the dharmic hindustani people. The hinbduism term is used to club together all the sanatan spritual traditions and panths into one representative religion, whcih goray like(d) to see . Other than that, many cultures in the past just had spirtuality followed in conjunction with their tribal lifestyle. It was part of society, it wasn't a separate religion.
  15. Some sewaks of sants do take some sort of charan pol amrit. However I am unsure if they do it more out of respect than as an initiation, ie just drinking from the feet of sants. But it seems to have originated from charan pol amrit.
  16. yes chilll with the brahminvaad chat, this isn;t that other website, the "sangat" one lol. Anyway, there was another common term was/is used for sikh marriages, called anand viyah I believe.
  17. not to the level of fanatics these days no.
  18. Yes but if people want to believe in marrying anyone, then they REALLY should marry ANYONE! This angrez society is a good example of what happened when people forgot about their anglo, saxon and jute tribes; especially after the romans obliterated their culture.
