  1. shwet is sankrit for white, are these other words sanskrit as well Laal Singh Ji?
  2. or it could be a word used from another language in an entirely different context. eg how the word Juggernaut came from JagganNath.
  3. ਨਿਤਾਰ means: distinction or separation of true and false, removal of doubt or suspicion, discernment, discrimination, judgement so ਨਿਤਾਰਕ would mean the person who has the responsibilbity to uphold the ਨਿਤਾਰ so I am going to guess this word could mean judge. ਸੰਹਾਰ means to destroy?
  4. yeah the rejiggle seems to have nailed it. do the lines before and after these give any further clue to what BVS was hinting at?
  5. ਬਮੂਜਬ ਾ. ... ਕ੍ਰਿ. ਵਿ- ਅਨੁਸਾਰ. ਮੁਆਫਿਕ. ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ. ਦੇਖੋ, ਮੂਜਬ. the highlighted words mean "according to.." this is from gur shabd ratnakar mahankosh. it still doesnt get any clearer for me tho!!!
  6. ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ਰਾ ਚੁ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਅਸਤ ਕਾਰੇ ਕੁਨੀ ॥ ਬਮੂਜਬ ਨਵਿਸ਼ਤਹ ਸ਼ੁਮਾਰੇ ਕੁਨੀ ॥੫੩॥ शुमा रा चु फ़रज़ असत कारे कुनी ॥ बमूजब नविशतह शुमारे कुनी ॥५३॥ It is your duty and a binding on you to do as bidden in writing.53 from page 2268 of Sahib Sri Dasam Granth of sridasam.org it is part of Zafarnama, so we can deduce it is a Farsi word in origin. bamoojab is which word here? writing ? if so could moojab on its own mean un-written? or re-written?
  7. i think aavahan means praise.and moojab means alternative way. so far it means that Guru Gobind Singh took the writings of the poets and wrote them alternatively (or in his own words). sorry i was wrong. have copied this from another site: Aavahan is a call to make our home, our Mother Earth a more beautiful, peaceful and a prosperous place. It is an invitation... Maybe this is what is being said: "What is a thinking person supposed to think? That Guru Gobind Singh ji took some of the writings of poets with an invitation to re-write them? Because the writers of Gurbilas and Gur Sartaap Suraj etc. present a hotchpotch of the schools of thought [in their writings]."
  8. what was the original dispute over neo singh ji?
  9. ekhtiaar means accept parmaan means example. shoonay is zero in sanskrit.
  10. yes will be speaking in english but only for aboout 3-5 mins. silence those links are superb, they are what im looking for.

  12. darshanak i think means "member of an audience" and drishtmaan i think means "with foresight" is this wheel getting back on the mystery machine?
  13. DAMN!!! Looks like one of the wheels have fallen off the Mystery Machine.
  14. vikaas means economy, so would vikaassheel mean economy-wise or economical? i think it would prob mean economically. Andolan is what we would now call a lehar, it means a movement.
  15. the farmers have to accept their share of the blame as well. Over use of fertilizers and pesticides, just to get bumper crops does have its repercussions.
  16. shreni means order or category, so i can only assume that shrenak would mean either part of that order.
  17. the Y that is chopped has no difference from the full one in speech. it is only in writing that it is different, and most of the old scripts use the chopped Y than the newer prints which use the full one.
  18. how big is your garden ? we grow paalak, alloo, pootna, dhannia, methe, and spring onions. Had no luck whatsoever with gajjar, mooli, batoun this year. gardening and shit. its brilliant.
  19. teebarta means harsher or stronger. (i know this from learning kirtan as you have "ma-teeber", meaning a harsher or stronger "ma".) vayakti is person viyapak means encompassing.or including. How did i do dal singh ji?
  20. yeh, its best not to follow them them around shopping malls, or to hide in bushes outside their house as well.
  21. PAL 07, on 18 July 2010 - 11:06 PM, said: SORRY and wills seriously bear it in mind. dal singh you know what they say those who can do, those who cant teach Dal, I am being arsey, because you have missed other errors in his sentence. Cant should be "can't" and there should be a comma between can and do, to make "can, do". And can't teach, to make it "can't, teach". This way it will make sense to people who have not followed the topic so far. One days detention for you, one week for Pal.
