  1. Silence is right. This clearly character dialogue. I can't beleive some would ever take this out of context. I've always thought that Bhang was used as a pain killer by warriors. But the Nihang who told Amardeep that you can use it for only three reasons is obviously misguided or attempting to misguide others.
  2. Generally the Somali and Pakistani immigrants are not hard working people. They tend to give all other immigrants a bad name. No matter which western country you go to, Somalis and Pakistanis are the same. Amongst the Indians, the Hindus, Sikhs, Christians (from Goa) and even Indian Muslims are hard working people and give positive contribution to the country they live in. I live in a neighbor hood with alot of Portuguese, they are generally nice people from my experience. Very hard working people. They are sort of like Italians. Italians are also another ethnic group which always contributes positively to the country they live in. Iranians and Arabs(Lebs, Palistians) are also good immigrants and friendly from my personal experience. I've lived in all ethnic ghettos.
  3. Some of Canada's bias reporters must be very very sick to the stomach after these Gursikhs won.
  4. I think that the reason they pronounce Sasa with both SH and SS is because many letters in Gurmukhi have dual sounds. The Bindi is a recent innovation added spacifically for the Punjabi langauge around a 100 years ago to make it easier for the reader to differenciate between the two sounds. Before this, even Punjabi literature did not include the bindis yet people knew where to pronounce the SH sound and where not to.
  5. That's true TSingh Jee. Not too long ago I was also very much paranoid of Hindus and anything even remotely Hindu. The old Sampradayas of the Hindus have absolutely no interest in Sikh Dharm what so ever. But our prapaganda by the so called Panthic types has brainwashed us so much that we literally fear anything with even a hint of Hinduism in it. Is it any wonder that Hindu phobes like the Kala Afghanists have made such inroads into the Sikh community that we are even abandoning the basics of Sikhi.
  6. Could be a number of reasons such as, maybe he wanted to widen his knowledge instead of keeping a narrow minded view of things or he went to do prachar all over India. Even the Gurus went to Kumbh Mela and other ancient shrines to do Prachar. Nothing wrong with Kumbh Mela or visiting ancient shrines. In fact, since the Guru's themselves did it, it would make such an act as "Gurmat". Plus alot of Nirmala Deras are located in the area, so Sant Jee probably also went there to learn.
  7. It is all the Bhahnaa of Vaheguru. If the current successors are as bhagtiwalay as Sant Ishar Singh jee, then they should all cooperate to make the sampradhah even better. I wish Nanaksar could also spread out in other parts of India. This Sampradhah has great potential to spread Sikhi since alot of Kamaiwalay Singh are in it. Prachar can only have it's desired effect of the one doing Prachar is also a Bhagtiwala. I bet if Nanaksar were to do Prachar all over India, Sikh population would double in no time.
  8. TSingh, as always, your posts are so informative. I always learn something new from reading your posts. Thanks.
  9. In South Asia, everyone calls circumcision as "Sunnat". What do the people of the middle east call it?
  10. How does the Hazuri Sikh Rehat Maryadha differ from SGPC rehet maryadha? Do they have the same Bajjar Krahits, Kakkars?
  11. Bhai Gurdas jee refers to Guru Nanak Dev Jee as "Baba" in his Vaaraan
  12. Maybe it is something similar to how Vishnu Avtar Ansh ParashuRam and his Brahmin army finished off the Kshatriyas and Sahsra Arjun.
  13. He was born a Sikh, but now claims to be a Sufi Darvesh. Although Radhaswamis also proudly claim he is a Radhaswami. I've even seen Khalistanis claim he is a Khalistani. Only God knows what he really is.
  14. You know it wouldn't hurt to show some respect for the dead, If not then please try refrain yourselves from trying to post overly clever comments which no one finds funny.
  15. Does anyone know where the headquaters of Sampradah of Baba Karam Singh Hotimardan Jee is located?
  16. Where in India can one get the "Moksh Panth Prakash" from?
  17. I've always thought that the reason the knights templar were killed off is because the order was more powerful and wealthier than any of the kings of Europe. The knights templar were not only powerful militarily but also were in the money lending business because of which they accumulated alot of wealth and land. Monarchs like the King of France owed alot of money to the knights templar, so instead of paying them, he decided to finish them off. Plus some say the Germanic warrior order of the Teutonic knights were also very jealous of the power and influence of the knights templar, so they also encouraged the extermination of the knights templar. I don’t think their religious beliefs had anything to do with their extermination. After all, they were commissioned by the Pope. It’s usually always about money or power no matter where you go in the world.
  18. I've always thought that the 6th and 7th Guru's name would have equally sounded nice if it had "Dev" in the ending instead of Sahib. But Sahib also sounds just as good. Some people also add "Sahib" to the name of Guru Nanak Dev jee instead of "Dev". They say it as "Guru Nanak Sahib Jee".
  19. Thanks for this. Maha Kharag Singh is right. I wish we had something of the Sarbloh Granth on the internet. Currently no translations are available. Alteast if someone can do seva and just upload it's paath, that would be also great.
  20. I think that love is something of ones Jazbaat and inner most feelings. How can you tell a person has love or not from the tunes they play on a Vaagaa? To me they seem like two very different things.
  21. I don't agree that we should have to accept the WHOLE rehetnama or nothing of it at all. It's not as black and white as that. Only those parts should be accepted which are in accordance to Sikh cannonical writings, the rest which go against it should be ignored. These rehetnamas are a part of our ancient writings and need to be studied. They should not be discarded because a few things in it are not in accordance to Gurbani.
  22. Yes, I've heard there an American Sikh(3ho) who tried to stop the Chatka from taking place and he was beaten up by the Chatka supporters there.
  23. I saw that thread too on discoversikhi. People did alot of Nindya on that site. I've never even seen this much nindya being done of Niddar Singh. People need to concentrate more on their Sikhi and Jeevan rather can concentrating on other people's private lives I think.
