  1. Do you think it is more of a safety issue as well though? I mean, you wouldn't let someone with a balaclava or full-faced motorcycle helmet enter a bank etc. Nevertheless, you are right in that if it is plainly a religious issue, it could get sticky for other faiths. Hopefully this is not the case though.
  2. Wow, I like the medium, but the message was very disturbing to say the least!
  3. What is exactly that the committee is objecting to? What is their reasoning for treating Giani ji with such disrespect?
  4. A very well put together website. A great tribute to those that have made supreme sacrifices for our Quom. Thanks for sharing.
  5. So amazing and truly touching! Thank you for sharing!
  6. oh lord, not again! the media are going to lap it up no doubt. if only gurdwara committee members actually followed Sikh principles there would never ever be any problems! unfortunately that is just wishful thinking.
  7. I agree that many of us would get caught up in emotions (it's hard not to given the issue), and we certainly don't want to play into this kind of trap. But I still think that some well written responses can at least rebuke what has been written and show that there are two sides to the issue.
  8. The BC journalist is probably Kim Bolan lol I think there is an article online that says that Singhs in the 80's already had their doubts about the Ragi's loyalty. As for Raveena Aulakh, I think she is probably one of those self-hating types.
  9. I suggest all Sikhs in the Toronto area (and the world for that matter) to send letters or emails to this newspaper for even agreeing to allow such bakwaas to be posted under its name. This Raveena Aulakh is a real piece of work
  10. Looks like Darshan Paapi is succeeding in creating even more problems for the Khalsa Panth: http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/crime/article/791293--attack-renews-sikh-dagger-debate?bn=1
  11. Yeah I think I will definitely have to keep a look out for the stuff he's written. I'd never heard of him prior to that video, but you're totally right about what he says about the mind.
  12. These guys want to see the Ragi become the Sikh equivalent of Martin Luther as they think he is the spearhead of a Sikh 'reformation'. Little do they know that he will end up turning out to be a destroyer of Sikhi. You're right, regardless of whether we get through to them, we shouldn't give up on rebuking their blasphemy whenever we have a chance.
  13. Same thing happens at some Gurdware here too! Seriously cannot believe the mentality sometimes. If we can't even help out our own, then what use is having langar anyway.
  14. Check out what Ragi D's supporters are writing: http://www.sikhchic.com/article-detail.php?id=1407&cat=26 It's disturbing that he has some open support. I tried to post a reply rebuking the article but as usual, it was subject to 'approval'. I doubt it's going to be posted any time soon. In the mean time, there is a high chance that this will influence people who are not aware of what the truth really is.
  15. Just thought I'd share a video I found at a Sikh blog site: http://www.mapleleafsikh.com/2010/04/what-happens-at-time-of-death.html I thought it was pretty interesting and it's very obvious that he's influenced by the mystic elements of the different religions. Enjoy!
  16. Funny thing is that guy has NO sense of style whatsoever! He looks like a complete buffoon for the most part! No idea why anyone would dream of imitating his 'style', but unfortunately I've heard the same from other people who have visited India recently. Damn you Jaswinder Bains!
  17. No self-respecting Sikh would put anything else over Guru Sahib, but at the same token, Sikh values teach us to give back to society, no matter who or what that society is comprised of. That's why Sikhs have never shied away from joining the military, government, police etc. of all the different countries we call home. I don't think our kattar Muslim friends have quite the same world-view.
  18. Wow, 200 million Muslims in India and she had to marry a Pakistani! I wonder how well it's going to go down in India.
  19. Ragi D! That's a classic mate. I wonder where his next gig is?
  20. Where is GuptSingh1699? Didn't he say that the entire sangat of Belgium was pro-Darshani? certainly doesn't look like it if he failed to do kirtan there!
  21. Just finished this GREAT book last night. I can't recommend it highly enough, it's just a fantastic read and really puts the purpose of human life according to Sikh philosophy into perspective in an easy to read way. If you haven't got it, GET IT!
  22. Ha, you're definitely right about the 'Sardar Chargers'! Hope the Singhs in that team start to improve. I agree about those three teams. It's strange that the other teams like Delhi and CSK don't seem to be gelling as well as they had in previous years. Gambhir looks to be injured if I'm not mistaken, so that will be a blow for Delhi. I think CSK will start to fire up soon enough as their line-up is pretty decent with Dhoni, Raina, Hayden and Badrinath, who are all capable of good knocks.
