For past many years, Sikhawareness has been a beacon for freedom of speech, freedom of expression and celebration of different diverse cultures/religion in cyber sikh world. We have no intention of changing that but with that being said, there is clear difference between freedom of speech, freedom of expression and abusing freedom of speech, trolling the forum, deliberately provoking argument from one thread to another, insulting members, other religious figures or attacking demi gods etc etc. We can bear all forms of debates even heated debates but basic civility has to be kept. We hope members ask themselves while writing - are they crossing the line?. Here is what we would like to acheive ideally.

We are all guilty of debating or discussing outside of gursikh principles ((which includes me of course), just wanted to take this chance to post sakhi from Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji updesh to pandits on discussion/debates and what's allowed for Gursikhs.

Or if you would like to see things from western angle:

Just look at western leaders/politicians in real life from two opposite side of spectrums with two polar opposite idealogy debate, how gracefully they debate the issues and still have basic respect for one another.

We have already started a new intiative to ensure, we have put two members- kharku aka- starchpagg47 and jungchumkaur under quality control temporary until their mend their ways following basic civil tone and keeping close eye on other members who are very close to crossing fine line- Maintaing quality of this forum is paramount.

As one of the main factors which led to the ousting of the Muslims from East Punjab especially the Sikh dominated areas was to create space for the resettling of Sikh refugees from West Punjab then it is natural that either Hindus refugees from West Punjab not be allowed to resettle in East Punjab and if possible Hindus already there be also ousted.

With the ousting of the Muslims even without the resettling of Sikh refugees, the districts of Amritsar, Ludhiana, Firozpur, had become Sikh majority districts. Add to this the fact that Hindus in Jalandhar were 50.37% of the population compared to 48.8% of Sikhs and the Sikhs dominated the rural areas. In Gurdaspur Hindus were 51% and the Sikhs were 40% and apart from Pathankot tehsils the Sikhs dominated the rural areas of the district. Only in Hoshiarpur was the difference between Sikhs and Hindus large in number. Hindus were and Sikhs were 25% and Hindus 75%, Again in some tehsils Sikhs were a majority in the rural areas. The Sikhs were also a majority in Patiala, Faridkot and Nabha states and the Punjabi speaking areas of Jind state.

So if the plan had been to create an independent Sikh state in 1947 then you would not have seen the resettlement of Hindu refugees from West Punjab being resettled in East Punjab. Given the lack of law and order and the precarious nature of the new government in Delhi then the Sikhs would have been successful in denying the settlement of Hindus in East Punjab. It would not make sense to allow a fifth column of Sikh haters to settle in areas that had a Sikh majority. Had these Hindus not been allowed to settle in East Punjab and been instead settled in Haryana areas or Jammu and Sikh refugees solely been settled in East Punjab, the Punjab today would have had a Sikh majority of over 80% and the Sikhs would have been a majority in both the rural and urban areas. There would have been no Punjab problem as the tiny Hindu minority would not have been able to act as a fifth column in Punjab and be hostile to the just demands of the state. The Punjabi Hindus would have had more clout in Haryana and could even have been a majority in some of the districts like Karnal, Panipat etc. If the Hindus already living in Sikh areas of East Punjab also been ousted and moved to Haryana. There would have an independent Sikh state and the Indian state of Haryana would have had a Punjabi Hindu problem!

Enough with the profanity both of you! This is supposed to be an intelligent spiritual discussion. If you can't keep civil get off this forum. There are kids using this website as well, at least try to bear that in mind!

    Respectfully disagree.

If you saw the sun first and declared that the sun exists (because you saw it), then I saw the sun and declared the same, does that mean i copied you? No, it doesn't. I say it because it is true.

And the same logic can be applied here. When Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Maharaj burnt all but 3 mirchaa (I'm sure you know the story) he told Aurangzeb that the Khalsa Panth would be the "Teesar Panth".

We would always listen to our Guru, scriptures and gursikhs over anyone else. Our guru's themselves- sri Guru Gobind singh maharaj have already established teesra panth or third way for us - unique-distinct/nyara panth from all which includes everything. Why should we listen to anyone else under their one umbrella when our guru's have already have provided us third way-teesra nyara panth -middle way which is tat nichor(essence) of all spiritual order-umbrella and much more. Our Guru's have provided us absolute view(enshirned in our scriptures daily nitneem- essence teaching in 5 banis including sukhmani sahib , akaal ustat) which many spiritual orders fall short to enforce the message of absolute with the exception of advaita vedanta. As i said off course, i m not comparing community here but rather what was already gifted to us by our guru sahiban.

We pay no allegiance to hindu samaj or hindu panth when our guru's have already established our miri piri- sant-sipahi sant khalsa panth.
